CHAPTER 3

1755 Words
Gideon POV I tapped my foot impatiently as I sat in front of my dad. He was in the middle of finishing the delivery for our new batch of the drug. This is the second one for this month. He always told me to watch and learn from him because I would inherit this ‘business’ someday. If only I could choose my life. I would prefer a normal life compared to this. I was seriously tired of hiding and living in a shadow. Living as a mafia son, I only had a few friends. And that’s including Uncle Damian. If it wasn’t for him, I might go insane at this point. My social circle was very small, and we only had many enemies that wanted to bring us down. Uncle Damian is the one who teaches me how to enjoy my youth. He’s the one who teaches me how to drink and seduce a woman in his club. To be honest, they were all the perfect targets for me. They weren’t looking for a serious relationship. All they wanted was someone who could warm their bed.  That’s the only definition of fun that I know in my life. Sometimes, I’m not even interested in the woman. I just like the feeling of rush in my blood and the chasing part. Now I could proudly call myself a pro at luring a woman. None of them could say no to my offer. “Gideon, are you listening?” Dad suddenly snapped at me. I blew out an exasperated breath. He caught me spacing out again. I leaned my back onto the chair. “Can we just call it a day for now, dad?” I replied to him, somehow hoping that he would let me out of this torturing room. He got up from his chair and poured himself a glass of whiskey. He walked onto the big window with his back facing me. “I need you to focus, Gideon. We never know how much time we had left—“ I got up from the chair, then strode towards him. “What are you talking about, dad? You acted as if you’ll die soon.” I replied to him sarcastically. He blew out a breath and turned back to face me. “I know that you were still unsure about what you want to do in life. I had the same problem with you when I was your age. But believe me, this business is more profitable than sitting in the company working from eight to five.” He told me that a million times already, but he never seemed to be tired of repeating himself over and over. It was true that I was never lack of anything in my life. Ever since mom and dad got married, they always spoiled me with anything I wanted. All I need to do is just ask. Expensive clothes. Sportbike. Luxury car. You named it. I’ve helped him with the drug delivery once, and it was quite a tricky job to do. Very high risk of getting caught, but the money was worth it. “Let’s just end it here for now. I am going to check on your mom.” Dad said, then exited the room with me. My phone vibrated inside my pocket, and it was Uncle Damian who texted me. From: Uncle Damian Hi there, ready to have some fun tonight?  I quickly typed a reply to him. To: Uncle Damian Sure! Count me in. How did you know that I was going to call you? Same place? It took him less than a minute to reply to my text. From: Uncle Damian That’s my boy. See you at ten tonight. ;) **************  The place was packed with a lot of sexy women tonight because it’s Friday. Friday night means ladies’ night. AKA. My favorite night. The ladies got fifty percent off for any beverages and also a free entrance. So it’s only natural that this place was full of female hormones tonight. I went towards Uncle Damian’s office as soon as I got there. I was startled as I saw him making out with some chick in his office. The woman was sitting on his lap while their tongue was exploring each other with lust. I was about to turn around when he called. “Hey, Gideon!? Come here, kid.” Uncle Damian said, motioning me to come in with one hand. “Am I interrupting something here?” I said with a smirk, crossing both arms in front of my chest. Uncle Damian let out a low chuckle. “Don’t be silly. I want you to meet Tamara. She’s the new woman in our club.” He introduced me to the woman. She stared back at me for a few seconds before she looked away. Strange, I never got that kind of reaction from a woman before. I wonder if she finds me unattractive? “Hi...” I said curtly at her. Uncle Damian watches our strange reaction towards each other. “Do you want to try kissing her? How can I put it nicely… She’s a bit inexperienced in that area. It would be good if you could help her to practice before serving the real customers.” I was stunned at his offer. This is the first time he let me “train” his girls. “Is she a virgin?” I asked, more towards Uncle Damian. He burst out laughing. “Of course not, you’re silly! I’ve never hired a virgin in my place.” Uncle Damian slowly nudges the woman off his lap. “Come on, go and kiss him!” he said, encouraging the woman. She shyly walked towards me. Her eyes were avoiding me, and her body languages were off. She was so hopeless. How could she get a new customer at this rate? She stopped only after she saw the tip of my shoes. “You know what, you don’t have to do this if you don’t want—“ she suddenly pulled my neck and crashed our lips together. I certainly didn’t expect this.  While we were still at it, I heard the phone on his desk ringing. “Yes, what? That bastard made a scene again?” Uncle Damian said, sounded a bit furious. He then stormed outside his office, leaving the two of us alone inside the office. After he left, I quickly pushed her back. “What was that? That wasn’t a kiss?” I said to her. I could tell that she wasn’t enjoying this either. She was forcing herself. The woman broke into tears and fell on the floor in front of me. “I’m sorry… Please don’t fire me. This is the only job that I could do right now.” she pleaded with a muffled voice because she was closing her face with both hands. I let out a deep sigh before I helped her to get up. “Hey, I am not going to do anything. I promise.” I told her. Fuck. I was awful at consoling people. I hate seeing a woman cry. I got insane every time I saw my mom cry. Now she was pleading at me because she couldn’t give me a mind-blowing kiss? That’s ridiculous.   The moment I said those words, she stopped crying and looked up at me. This time her eyes lingered longer than earlier. “Really?” she asked me. I slowly nodded and guided her to sit on the empty sofa inside the room.  “I’m Gideon. Mind telling me why you worked here?” I asked her after clearing my throat. I could see how tormented she was. Like she didn’t want to be here either. “I was raped by my stepdad…” she then admitted to me. “After mom finds out and they got into a fight. He left my mom, getting a divorce. He left us with nothing. Now that my mom was sick. I had to find a job.” It broke my heart to see how unfortunate other people live. Compared to me, I was born with a silver spoon. I could never understand the feeling of being poor. “How old are you?” I then asked her. She looked uncertain before she told me. “I am nineteen.” My eyes widened. The heavy amount of makeup that she puts on really does the trick. She didn’t look like nineteen in that deep red lipstick. I even had no clue that she was this inexperienced if it wasn’t for her body language. Now that I come to think about it. She was way too young even for me. Watching her kissing Uncle Damian earlier is kind of gross. It’s almost the same as if she was kissing her rapist stepdad. “Listen, Tamara. You certainly don’t belong here.” I told her. She stared back at me. Her eyes started to flood with tears again. She quickly shook her head. “You don’t understand. I’ve tried everywhere. This is the only place that would accept me.” She told me, filled with desperation. I looked down and suddenly realized that the clothes she was wearing were too revealing. I wonder where did Uncle Damian get this kind of clothes from? I took off my jacket and put it to cover her up. “Here, put this on.” She looked confused, but she was securing the opening of the jacket tightly in the middle of her chest with both her hands. “Are you going to tell Damian now?” Worried filled her face. I let out a small laugh as I patted her head. “Yes, I am going to tell him to put you in the bar area. So you don’t have to serve the customer. All you have to do is mixing the drinks.” She looked taken aback and grateful by my offer. “But I don’t know how to?” she said doubtfully. “I could teach you. Uncle Damian told me a few tricks.” I said in reply, assuring her.  “Really? So I don’t have to kiss a bald old man?” she asked in surprise. I burst out laughing at that. This woman surely got a wild fantasy. “Now, if you’ll excuse me. I am going to find my uncle.” I said, getting up from the sofa and exiting the room.
