After the labs, we went to the cafeteria. There aren’t many fragile things here, so this time Mallory is going to help as well. It is only right to say that she’s the reason why Raphael had to punch Aiden after all. All she has to do is help wipe the tables while we arrange the seats, stacking them up, sweep and mop the floor, and clean the sinks. 

Mallory didn’t seem to have any experience with cleaning or service, she even tried to clean the tables with a dirty rag. We wouldn’t have noticed if Aiden didn’t yell “Hey stupid! What are you doing?” two tables apart from her. He walked towards her after seeing that Mallory took no notice of him. I was watching them from afar and did not expect him to do anything to Mallory because his shout should’ve also caught Elaine’s attention. 

As he reached Mallory, Aiden snatched the dirty rag and threw it to the floor, he pushed Mallory aside and said, “Don’t move.” He went to the kitchen and took a clean rag and spray for her to use. That would have been a great idea if only Mallory could hear him. As she saw the guy walk away, she took the dirty rag and began wiping the table again. Well, now the rag is even muddier and instead of cleaning, she’s only dirtying the table. I wish I could have stopped her, but I was too far away. Raphael was behind one of the food stalls, Gabriel and Elaine seem to have gone somewhere, both of them were nowhere in sight. Just where did they go at such an important time? I rushed to Mallory after she picked up the rag, but Aiden got to her first. As soon as he saw her moving after he told her not to, he was visibly annoyed. He grabbed Mallory by the arm dragging her towards the wall. Holding her by the wrist, he raised Mallory up one-handedly to match his height and pinned her to the wall. Mallory’s feet weren’t even touching the ground. 

“Are you joking with me?” he said. This is bad, this guy is insanely strong, he’s holding her like that while holding on to the clean rag and spray. 

Mallory who couldn’t hear him did not reply. Aiden got mad and threw her to the table.

Crash!

I reached them too late. I heard Mallory’s back hit the edge of the table. It was the first time I heard her scream from pain. She plopped down the floor, breathing heavily. After that Aiden tossed the spray and clean rag to her and walked away.

As much as I wanted to chase him and beat the crap out of him, I couldn’t. I had to carry Mallory to the clinic right away. With her back injured, I can’t carry her carelessly. Her face was turning red, I’m confused about what to do. I signaled for her to get on my back just like before and we went to the clinic. 

The lights were on, but nobody was there. s**t! Just where is everyone when you need them? I laid Mallory on the clinic bed, before I knew it she fell asleep while I was carrying her. Her skin turned reddish, she was so red that I wanted to checked her temperature. I placed my palm on her forehead and damn, her fever is no joke. I almost felt burned when I touched her. I searched for a thermometer to get her approximate temperature. 

I held her wrist to check her pulse, she’s extremely hot, and her pulse rate was above normal. I saw a bag of ice and immediately placed it on her forehead. Then she suddenly opened her eyes, I am not sure how, but the color of her contact lenses seems to have become a deeper red. I checked around the room to see if there is any medicine I know so I could feed it to her while waiting for the thermometer to beep. I was looking through the cabinets for fever medicine when I heard the beeping sound, I turned back to Mallory then my vision suddenly faded. As I lost consciousness I saw a shadow.

“Who...?”

When I opened my eyes again, it was 4 am the next day already, Raphael was right beside me. 

”Are you alright?” he asked.

I sit up and looked around. This must be the dorm room. “What happened?” I asked.

He said when he came out from behind the food stall, no one was there anymore. He thought that we couldn't have left early because the cafeteria was still a mess. Then he saw the spray, the dirty and the clean rag on the floor, and thought that something might have come up. He searched near the cafeteria and saw Gabriel and Elaine near the comfort room together. He asked them where we were, but they didn't know either so all three of them searched for us and finally found us in the clinic. He also said that when they arrived I was already asleep and Miss Alice was taking care of Mallory, she told them that I must have fallen asleep while taking care of Mallory.

I cannot remember what happened after I brought Mallory to the clinic yesterday. Ugh...

“Where is she?” I asked after I searched the room and saw Gabriel on Mallory’s bed.

“She’s in 505.” he said. “I had to take care of her so Gab and her had to change places.”

“I see, if it was you that treated her, then she must be all good now.” I told him.

“Not really, Miss Alice said her backbone is fine, her muscles where just stretched a bit too much.” 

Was it really that much only? I remember her scream in pain when she was thrown though. “What about the fever?”

“Fever?”
