Feeling of owning

Unexpected

She was in  her second trimester and already started to show a little baby bump if you watch thoroughly  and also put on weight even though she had been suffering morning sickness. Her breasts a size bigger than before and tender. She felt irritated wearing tight dresses which shows her baby bump and decided to buy some casual clothes. She called Lily to know if she was free to go to shopping which she  agreed. We decided to meet at the mall around 11 am and  have lunch outside after shopping. Poor Lily, she was always there for me to run my errands. Sometimes I felt guilty when she drove all the way to here to brought me homemade foods which I craves. Every evening after work she accompany me for a walk to the park and walk back to my apartment.Then we'll watch a movie or prepare dinner together and she even stayed with me when Ian was out of town . He'd also join us for dinner then they leave together.

We met at the shopping mall and bought some casual clothes and lingeries. Usually Lily was very excited and full on energetic for shopping go through all the shops checking and trying different outfits but today she seemed different.

"Hey, What's wrong Lily ?  Are you sick? " I asked her when we sat down at a restaurant in the mall and ordered our lunch.

" No. I'm good" she answered smiling weakly.

"But you seem different today. Not the usual Lily who is full of energetic when it comes to shopping. Tell me what is bothering you? " I asked her again  concerned. She just looked up at me and sighed.

" Elsa, Uh I -  there's something I want to tell you" she said with a serious expression and I listened to her. "I don't know how this happened? actually I didn't expect this" she tried to smile.

"Don't build up you are making me impatient. Cut it short. You know it's not good for me to be stressed " I told her trying to enlighten the conversation.

"Okay, Elsa I'm pregnant. I confirmed it today and didn't know what to do. I didn't even told to Ian about this " she said in one breath.

I sat there wide eyed mouth open for a while.

" Wow! Congratulations, That's a good news" I said "Hey!  But why didn't you tell Ian and why you not happy?"  asked her after a pause.

"I don't know it's like mixed feeling. Am happy that I'm pregnant but fear if something bad happen.. " I cut her off " Hey!  Always think positive. Nothing gonna happen this time" I told her holding her hands in me.

"You need to talk to Ian first. Did you visit the doctor or took a test your own?" I asked her

"I had an appointment with Dr. Fernandez earlier this morning and  she confirmed it" she replied.

"Oh okay. You feel good? Can we eat now?  I'm hungry " I asked her when our food brought in.

" Yes, I'm hungry too" she said picked up the fork and we ate .

The whole time I was thinking about the babies. Now that Lily is pregnant what about the babies in my womb. Is she going to disown them or not?I don't want to be mean but considering the past experiences, they may  take time to decide whether to or not. But what if they disown them?.No. No. It's their babies they'll never do anything like that. After lunch we part our way.  Came back home from shopping, I dropped the shopping bags in the closet thought of arrange them later and changed into a t-shirt and sweatpants and sat on the bed with my laptop going through the mails and orders . It was already evening when she finished.

Lily called her to inform that not to expect her today for the walk as she plan to talk to Ian. She locked her apartment and walked to the park. She reached  the park and sat on the bench breath the fresh air and watching the kids play. She saw Jacob walked to her smiling.Now it's a routine for them to see him here at the park every evening. They plan to change their route to avoid him once her growing belly is hard to hide.

"Hi Elsa" he sat beside me.His t-shirt wet in his sweat. I could smell his cologne with his sweat and liked the smell. It's so manly. Ms. Jacobson was long gone a week after he told me to address him basis on the first name . I must say it feels good when he calls me Elsa than   Ms. Jacobson and I think he likes it when I call him Jacob, he smiles at me.

"Hi Jacob"

"Where's Lily? She not came today? " he queried looking around.

" No. Uh she's busy with something " I can't tell him the exact reason.

" Oh" he said thoughtfully.

We talked a little about the shop, the babies I mean Lily and Ian's babies before walk back. Yes!  He insisted to walk back with me to my apartment. He looked more lively today than before. Maybe it's a good day for him. Who knows? I didn't find the courage to ask him as you know how I feel whenever he around. We reached my apartment and I invited him to my house but his phone rung. He excused and answered the call.

"I'm sorry . I was an important call.Something came up, I have to be there for someone . Will come over another time " with that he walked away.

I stood there looking at his retreating back. ' Who is the important person who call him? Is it a woman or man? If she, is she his girlfriend?  She felt jealous of the person who's important to him and need to be there at this late in the evening . She admitted she was attracted to him and felt something for him. But she is not sure what it exactly is.

She opened the door and got in. After freshen up and neatly placed her newly bought clothes, she had her dinner. She wanted to call Lily then thought against it and went to sleep.

I was in a meeting with the marketing department when Dr. Fernandez called me.I wondered why she called.Ian is here. She already confirmed the twin pregnancy and informed me. I  excused my self and answered the call. "Hello Doctor,is everything good?"

" Mr. Gregory.  yeah!  Everything is fine.I just call you to inform you something " she said

" Yes, I'm listening. What is it? " I asked wondering this was something about Elsa and the babies.

" This morning Ms. Mathews came for a check up. She said she doubts if she is pregnant. We had the test and the results states that she is pregnant! " she said.

" Um Ms. Mathews, you mean Lily is pregnant? " I asked her not believing what I just heard.

" Yes!  She is " she answered.

" But considering her past records It's too early to say that she has a safe one. I just thought of sharing the news to you because of the circumstances so that you could make a good decision. You know what I mean" she said

"Yes doctor,I understand. And thank you " with that she cut the call. He stood there some time holding the phone before his secretary's voice heard."  Mr. Gregory. 

They is waiting for your opinion about the project".

"Yeah. I'm coming " I return back to the meeting and talked about the project. I glanced at Ian's face to see if I could read what he thinking. The situation is somewhat complicated for him. His fiance is pregnant with his child and he thinks Elsa's twins are also his. But he seem calm and talking to his colleague about the project.

Evening I went to the park as usual and saw Elsa sitting on the bench alone.I had been using the time to get to know her more and letting her know me for the past few days .I hope this will help me winning her heart soon. I approached her smiling and asked her where Lily was. She told me she was busy with something. I guess it was something what Dr. Fernandez told me. So I replied with a "Oh".  We talked some time but all the time I was stealing glances at the baby bump without noticing her. I insisted to walk with her to her apartment on Lily's absence. She invited me to her house but Harry called me asking my help so I left from there immediately.
