Chapter Thirty Saturday, 10th Caroline woke early, even before Joe’s internal golf alarm had gone off. She crept downstairs and made coffee. When Joe found her sometime later she was curled up in the same spot on the sofa she’d occupied last night. She looked up. “Are we OK?” she asked, needing to hear the words again. She was afraid he might feel differently now, in the cold light of day. “Yes.
