Chapter Thirty Eight
Monday, 26th
Caroline hadn’t managed to speak to Dalim on Friday. Alice had sent though a note at five to say she was leaving and Dalim still hadn’t emerged from Richard’s office.
When Caroline arrived at the office on Monday, there was a note on her desk asking her to see Richard as soon as possible.
She hurried across and he waved her in pointing to a chair, while he concluded a telephone call.
“Thanks for popping over Caroline. Straight to the point. You might have heard Ben has left us?”
“There’s a rumour going round, but I didn’t know for sure,” she said.
“Well he has. I was sent a copy of an email from Ben showing him in a whole new, and frankly unacceptable, light.”
