Ren’s POV
I wasn’t sure how I would feel about a place whose purpose is to glorify the history and success of vampire royals throughout the ages, but I have to hand it to this place—it’s nice.
It’s a large compound, most simply described as a “resort,” though less glitzy-glammy and grandiose than the term brings to mind. Its main building is a giant, red brick, ivy-colored mansion, with huge, bay windows and a lush, flowery courtyard in the front. Scattered around it are smaller cottages, fountains, and several swimming pools. And, in the back, is a large, architecturally impressive museum.
The museum is the part that hits my heartstrings the hardest, I think. It reminds me of Canis—the home that my parents grew up in—the home that was never mine.
