Chapter 10: Feeding Lestat

551 Words
Back at the penthouse Sascha sifts through emails on her phone and listens to voicemails while stroking Lestat lovingly. He’s stretched out next to her purring contently. Obviously glad she has returned for the day. Sascha doesn’t leave him often but when she does he’s usually a little clingy, which she doesn’t mind considering how independent he normally can be. Sascha wouldn’t dare listen to voicemails outside the walls of her penthouse especially around the elders. Vampire hearing is amplified so she can’t risk someone hearing anything they shouldn’t. Finally she stumbles across one from Vlad informing her everything has been taken care of and there is a present for Lestat waiting in the basement of the penthouse as requested. Sascha smiles with delight.  Looking down at Lestat she croons, “Are you hungry little beastie? There’s something yummy waiting for you downstairs.” The big cat's ears twitch at the mention of food. His tail twitches with curiosity. He winks at Sascha as if to say he’s interested in the food she’s dangling in front of him. He rises slowly taking care to stretch. It’s truly like he knows what’s about to go down. When he’s done stretching and yawning, pausing only to lick his lips. He slowly saunters off to the door and plops down sitting in front of it waiting for Sascha.  “Oh you silly little beastie, you must be very hungry then,” Sascha says, crossing the room to grab his leash, attaching it to his collar with a click. He eyes her anxiously as she slips on her shoes. His tail flicks back and forth impatiently. Lestat paws the doors leaving fresh scratch marks on top of the old ones. He hisses at Sascha baring his teeth. He’s ready to go right now and she is taking longer than he likes.  “Oh behave, you will have plenty of time to play with your food in just a few minutes,” Sascha snaps at him.  The cat is not amused and hisses again laying his ears back flat against his head. Sascha unlocks the door and opens it slowly. The cat's muscles are twitching beneath his luscious coat in anticipation of a fresh meal. Finally they enter the hallway and head straight for the elevator. Lestat definitely knows what’s about to happen and his purrs are growing louder. When they enter the elevator Lestat sits still as a statue. Sascha pushes the button for the basement and a soft glow illuminates the button. A drop of drool drips from the cats mouth and lands on the marble floors of the elevator with a splat. Sascha reaches down and scratches his ears affectionately.  “Are you hungry, or are you just here to play with the food?” Sascha asks him as he continues to salivate.  The cat winks at her in response. As if he’s telling her his secrets with yes or no winks that only Sascha can understand. She smiles at him.  Ding The elevator doors roll open and the pair steps out onto the concrete. Down the hall and through another set of doors. Ahhh Sascha smiles there he is. All tied up in a chair in the middle of the room. Head hanging low as if he’s stopped struggling and fallen asleep.
