Back in the safety of the hired car Sascha poured herself a bloody Mary, made with real blood of course, jabbed her headphones into her ears, slid her sunglasses down and settled in for a long drive. The leather was cool and comforting against her skin, Sascha relaxed for the first time today. Traffic was bound to be crazy based on what she was told by the elders about the building. She still couldn’t believe how quickly Vlad had delivered. At any rate at least she could finally check one thing off her list, revenge. Sascha smiled to herself, revenge made her feel good, really good. Nothing is sweeter than the taste of revenge. It would take well over an hour to make it back to the penthouse so she may as well relax a little. She quickly polished off the first drink and made another to take the edge off. When she had finished that one she decided to peek out her sunglasses and see how far they had made it. Drats there was still at least another thirty minutes to go.
Sascha called to the driver, “wake me when we arrive, love and see to it the ride doesn’t get too bumpy. You know I am a bigger tipper when I am nice and relaxed.”
She thumbed through her phone and decided on opera music. For some reason Dimitri adored listening to the Opera. He always had. Thinking about him today had really made Sascha long for her mate. If what Sophie had said was correct, then she really should start looking for a witch and focus harder than ever on finding the love of her life. What she would give just to look in his eyes again, to stroke his stubbly cheek, and to kiss his luscious lips. She leaned her head back and pictured him. What a sexy man he always was, women were constantly throwing themselves at him but he only had eyes for Sascha. His dedication to her was so incredibly sexy. The way he hung on her every last word, and stopped at nothing to please her. She just about melted at the thought of hearing his voice again. What she would give to hear him whisper her name, or vow to give her the mortal world like he’s promised so many times before. Last time they were so close. So incredibly close, if she could find Dimitri she just knew they would be successful this time.
She buried those thoughts momentarily and began thinking about how she might go about acquiring a witch. Witches aren't very fond of vampires and don’t usually enjoy working for them. The last witch they befriended died a few hundred years ago; being mortal is truly tragic. Maybe she could assign Alexandria with the task especially with someone trying to frame her. Time wouldn’t be on her side. Ah well, there soon would be much to do. She had so much she needed to discuss with her right hand women. Hopefully they will be up for the challenge of locating Dimitri, investigating hidden new souls, getting to the bottom of who is trying to frame Sascha, finding a witch, bringing Dimitri’s soul into this lifetime, and taking control of the mortal world.
