Deep within the depths of a dark forest, Gabriel abruptly came to a halt, his senses attuned to the newfound silence that enveloped their surroundings. It was evident why the world had fallen quiet, Alpha Lucian had emerged victorious in his battle against the lightbringer.
The three other lycans, who carried Lysandra's friends upon their strong shoulders, mirrored Gabriel sudden pause.
"Why are we stopping? What's going on?" Lysandra asked
"We'll wait for Alpha Lucian here, miss," Gabriel replied politely, a sense of respect lacing his words.
"why do you call him Alpha Lucian? Isn't that a title from werewolf tales?" She questioned, a touch of confusion coloring her tone.
"Yes, he is the leader of lycanthropes," He responded calmly, clarifying the truth behind the fiction. "And, to be precise, we are lycans, not werewolves."
Lysandra stuttered as she sought to comprehend. "So... you all are werewolves?"
"Lycans, actually," Gabriel corrected her with a hint of pride. "And your friend, Kyle, is a lightbringer. Think of him as similar to an angel in religious beliefs."
"You creatures actually exist," she uttered in bewildered astonishment. Although she had embarked on her journey to Tarsus with the intention of unveiling the existence of such creatures and seeking out the origins behind them, the confirmation of their realness was undeniably shocking.
"What other creatures are out there?" she inquired, her curiosity piqued, as the beta gathered sticks to form a makeshift campfire.
"Quite a lot, actually," the beta replied while arranging the twigs. "Vampires, witches, demons, lycans, werewolves, dwarves, elves, mermaids, there's a vast array of creatures. Even dragons, although they haven't been sighted in centuries. Rumors circulate that they are either extinct or in hiding."
Lysandra's eyes widened with disbelief at this unimaginable information. Initially, she would have dismissed such claims as pure fantasy.
However, witnessing the colossal figure of Lucian and his unbelievable speed, coupled with the presence of the lycan pack, left her with no choice but to acknowledge that Gabriel was speaking the truth.
"And seraphina? What is she?" Lysandra's voice trembled with sadness as she remembered being told that Seraphina had intended to harm her. It was something she found difficult to believe
Gabriel let out a gentle sigh before placing his large palm on her head, tenderly stroking her long, silky blonde hair in an attempt to bring her some measure of comfort. "Your friend, Seraphina, is both a witch and a demoness," he explained softly.
"I see," she replied, her voice filled with weariness, confusion, and frustration. A pool of water shimmered in her green eyes, reflecting the depths of her emotions. Taking a deep breath, she managed to hold back the tears that threatened to spill
Gabriel raised an eyebrow, his surprise evident. "Your reaction isn't what I expected, Miss. You don't seem to be frightened of us," he remarked, intrigued by how quickly the blonde haired girl had accepted the existence of beings that would be deemed insane by the majority of people.
"I am surprised too," Lysandra admitted, a mild chuckle escaping her lips. She truly was astonished at her own adaptability to the situation.
She felt no fear towards the lycans, unable to comprehend why. It was as though she sensed a bond and connection between herself and the lycans, a trust as strong as that which she had for her own family members.
She suddenly felt a chilling breeze from behind. Turning around, she was taken aback to find her best friend, Seraphina, standing with a smile on her face. She was dressed in a stunning red gown that accentuated her flawless curves, her long fiery red hair elegantly tied up.
Realization dawned upon Gabriel, his teeth clenched. "This was a trap. You wanted us to be separated from Lucian," he seethed, comprehending the depths of the situation.
"Of course, darling, I threw you a bone, and just like all dogs do, you simply chased after it," She retorted with a mischievous smile, her gaze fixed upon Lysandra.
"Damn you witch." He said through gritted teeth
"Well I can't take all the credit this was all levi's plan." She said with a smirk
"Seraphina was all of the time we spent together meaningless to you?, was it really all an act?,"
"Yes, I never once cared about you Lysandra" The witch replied with a tone void of any emotion which made Lysandra suddenly slump to the ground.
"Guard Lysandra," Gabriel commanded, his voice filled with urgency. The lycans swiftly encircled Lysandra, their massive swords held firmly in their hands, ready to attack at a moment's notice.
Without wasting a second, Gabriel launched himself at Seraphina. Transforming into his formidable brown Lycan form, Gabriel's presence exuded ferocity, power, and intimidation. He sprinted towards the witch, poised to claw her to death. But before he could reach her, hundreds of ice crystal swords pierced his vital organs.
Despite the grievous injuries, the savage beast only grew more relentless, its feral red eyes fixated hauntingly on the witch. It continued its attack, claws slashing through the air with terrifying force. However, Seraphina skillfully evaded the relentless assault, wearing a twisted grin on her face.
"I would love to stay and play with you a little longer, my darling dogs. But I must bid you farewell now. We wouldn't want that bothersome immortal lycan arriving too soon," She taunted with a smirk before leaping onto a tree branch.
Closing her eyes and lifting her hands overhead, she summoned a deluge of heavy lightning that rained down upon the Lycans. It was a horrifying sight as bolts of lightning struck, instantly killing the lycans upon impact.
Although Lysandra and her unconscious friends remained unharmed, an overwhelming sense of terror engulfed her as she fell unconscious. Seraphina casually approached Lysandra, picking her up, and within moments, they vanished into thin air, leaving Lysandra's friends behind unharmed.

A few minutes later, Lucian arrived, his expression a mix of shock, dismay, and disbelief. The forest lay in complete ruin, his men all unconscious, their bodies scattered and torn apart. There was no trace of Lysandra.
Filled with rage, Lucian noticed a slight movement behind a large, fragmented tree stump. He marched towards it, discovering his beta, Gabriel, heavily injured and covered in blood, struggling to breathe.
"Alpha," He managed to speak through gritted teeth, the pain evident in his voice. "She used us, Alpha. That damn witch used us," he added, glancing at their fallen comrades, his anger escalating.
"Where are her friends?" Lucian demanded, his voice resonating with fury.
"They're over there," He pointed weakly, shaking and bloodied hands trembling as he indicated their location. "For some reason, she spared them."
"And the lycan pup? Did she take her?" Lucian questioned, his tone filled with wrath.
"No, Alpha," Gabriel answered, avoiding Lucian's gaze. "I have failed you, Alpha," he admitted disappointedly. "I will accept whatever punishment you deem fit for my failure," he added, his voice heavy with regret.
"It's my fault too, I was careless," Lucian said, his regret evident. "The lycan girl might know where to find her. When we rescue her, we will attack with the forces of the witch Elena."
"We should leave now. I sense demons nearby," Gabriel suggested, attempting to rise and carry Raven, the lycan girl. However, Lucian held him back, gripping his shoulders firmly.
"I'll carry the three of them on my shoulders. You're too weak, Gabriel. Focus on healing," Lucian instructed, concern lacing his voice
"We can't leave her friends alone in demon territory. They wouldn't survive a second," he explained, with a somber chuckle. "By the way, I need to earn the girl's trust when we rescue her from those vile creatures," he added calmly.
Lucian proceeded to gather the scattered body parts of his fallen comrades, providing them with a hasty, heartfelt burial. With a heavy heart, he exited the decimated forest. Gabriel, bloodied and weakened, accompanied Lucian by his side.
