THE GODFATHER’S HIDDEN DAUGHTER

They came to kill Isabella the night she discovered she was the most dangerous woman in the city.

For twenty-four years, Isabella has lived an ordinary life, believing she is nothing more than a young woman trying to build a future of her own. She knows nothing about the powerful man whose blood runs through her veins.

Until one violent night, armed men come hunting for her.

When Isabella is rescued by a mysterious man who calls her *the Godfather’s daughter*, her entire world shatters.

Her father was Alexander Veyron—the legendary Godfather who once controlled Blackridge City's most feared criminal empire.

He died eighteen years ago.

Or so everyone believed.

Isabella is taken to the Veyron estate, where she discovers that her father's enemies have been waiting for the day his bloodline resurfaces. The empire he built is crumbling, his former allies are divided, and the ruthless Black Council has no intention of surrendering power to an inexperienced young woman.

They expect Isabella to be frightened.

They expect her to run.

They make the mistake of underestimating her.

As assassins close in and betrayals emerge from the people she trusts, Isabella is forced to learn the rules of a world where loyalty is bought with blood and power is never given—it is taken.

But the deeper she digs into her father's past, the more disturbing the truth becomes.

Alexander Veyron wasn't simply murdered.

Someone close to him betrayed him.

And the person responsible may still be sitting at Isabella's table.

Then there is Adrian Cross—the cold, dangerous man who seems to know far more about Isabella's father than he is willing to admit.

He was one of Alexander's most trusted men.

He has sworn to protect Isabella.

But he is hiding a secret of his own.

A secret that could destroy whatever trust exists between them.

As Isabella fights to uncover the truth, she realizes that inheriting her father's empire may be the easy part.

The real battle will be deciding what kind of woman she will become.

Will she become another ruthless Godfather?

Or will she become something the criminal world has never seen before?

A queen.

Because Isabella isn't fighting merely to survive anymore.

She's coming for the throne.

And everyone who destroyed her family is about to discover the one thing they should have feared most:

The Godfather didn't leave behind a son.

He left behind a daughter.

Chapter 1- They Came to Kill Her
The first bullet missed Isabella's head by less than an inch. It smashed into the brick wall beside her, spraying dust across her face. She didn't scream. She couldn't. She was too busy running. Her shoes slapped against the rain-soaked pavement as she sprinted through the abandoned industrial district, one hand pressed against the burning wound on her arm and the other gripping a phone she had stolen less than ten minutes ago. Behind her, an engine roared. Then another. Then another. Three black SUVs came tearing around the corner. Isabella glanced over her shoulder. Her stomach dropped. They were still following her. “Come on,” she whispered, forcing her legs to move faster. “Come on…” Rain poured down so heavily that the streetlights looked like blurred stars. Water streamed down her face, mixing with the blood running from the cut above her eyebrow. She didn't understand any of this. An hour ago, she'd been sitting in her tiny apartment, complaining to herself about an unpaid electricity bill. Now armed men were trying to kill her. And the worst part? She had no idea why. The first attack had happened outside her apartment. Two men. Black suits. Silenced pistols. They hadn't tried to rob her. They'd tried to execute her. She'd barely escaped through the fire exit. Then she'd heard something that had made even less sense. One of the men had shouted into his phone: “She's alive. Confirmed. The girl is alive.” The girl. Not Isabella. Not her name. The girl. As if she were some kind of target they'd been searching for. Isabella turned sharply into another street. A bullet tore through the metal railing beside her. She ducked. “Damn it!” She stumbled but caught herself against a wall. Her lungs were on fire. She looked ahead. Nothing. No cars. No people. No open businesses. Just warehouses. Old factories. Dead streets. She was trapped. Isabella looked behind her. The SUVs were getting closer. Their headlights cut through the rain. She needed somewhere to hide. Her eyes moved quickly. One warehouse stood farther down the road. Its doors were half-open. She didn't think. She ran inside. The moment she crossed the threshold, darkness swallowed her. Isabella pressed her back against the cold metal door and held her breath. For three seconds, there was nothing. No gunfire. No engines. Only the sound of rain hammering against the roof. Maybe they'd passed her. Maybe— A light came on. Isabella's heart stopped. One bulb. Then another. Then another. The warehouse slowly revealed itself. And that's when she saw them. Men. Everywhere. Twelve of them. Standing between the old machinery and concrete pillars. All carrying guns. Isabella slowly stepped backward. Her fingers tightened around the stolen phone. The warehouse doors slammed shut behind her. A man stepped out from the shadows. He was tall, perhaps in his fifties, dressed in a perfectly tailored black suit that somehow looked untouched by the rain. His gray hair was slicked backward. His face was calm. Too calm. He looked at Isabella as if he'd been waiting for her. “Well,” he said. His voice was almost gentle. “You made it.” Isabella stared at him. “Who are you?” The man smiled. “That's not the question you should be asking.” One of the men raised his gun. Isabella's eyes flicked toward him. “Don't.” The man lowered it. The leader took another step forward. “Do you know why you're here?” “No.” “Do you know why those men were chasing you?” “No.” “Do you know why three different organizations have spent the last two weeks trying to locate you?” Isabella swallowed. “No.” The man's smile disappeared. “Then you've lived a very sheltered life.” “I don't know what you're talking about.” “Of course you don't.” He looked almost amused. “Your mother did an excellent job.” At the mention of her mother, Isabella's expression changed. “What did you say?” The man walked closer. “Your mother should've known better than to hide you forever.” “Where is my mother?” Silence. Isabella's heart began pounding. She had spoken to her mother that morning. Her mother had promised to call that evening. She never did. When Isabella got home from work, she'd found the apartment door unlocked. The kitchen light was still on. Her mother's purse was sitting on the table. Her phone was on the floor. And there had been blood on the kitchen tiles. Isabella had called her name until her voice broke. Nothing. Then the men arrived. She had run. The leader studied her face. “You really don't know, do you?” “Know what?” He stopped only a few feet away. “Who your father was.” Isabella stared at him. “My father?” The words sounded strange. She had never known her father. Her mother had always refused to talk about him. Whenever Isabella asked, her mother gave the same answer. He's gone. Not dead. Not alive. Just gone. Isabella had stopped asking years ago. The man sighed. “Alexander Veyron.” The name meant nothing to her. “Who?” Several of the men exchanged looks. The leader almost laughed. “You don't know the name Alexander Veyron?” “No.” “He was the most feared man in Blackridge.” Isabella shook her head. “I don't care.” “You should.” “I don't know him.” “He was your father.” The warehouse seemed to go silent. Even the rain outside sounded distant. Isabella stared at him. “No.” The man said nothing. “No,” she repeated, louder this time. “My father died before I was born.” “That's what your mother told you.” “My mother wouldn't lie to me.” “She lied because she wanted you alive.” Isabella's eyes burned. “You're lying.” The man reached into his coat. Every gun in the room shifted toward her. Isabella stepped backward. “Don't.” He pulled out a photograph. He held it up. Isabella looked at it. A young woman stood beside a black-haired man in a dark suit. Her mother. Isabella's breath caught. She had never seen the photograph before. But she recognized the woman immediately. Her mother. The man beside her was a stranger. Yet something about his eyes— Isabella stared harder. There was something familiar there. Something she couldn't explain. The leader lowered the photograph. “Alexander Veyron.” He looked at Isabella. “Your father.” Isabella's hands began trembling. “What happened to him?” The man's expression hardened. “He was betrayed.” “By who?” “That depends on who you ask.” “Why are you telling me this?” “Because you're going to die tonight.” Isabella froze. The man lifted his hand. Every gun came up. “Wait.” The word escaped her before she could stop it. She looked around desperately. “Twelve guns,” she whispered. “One woman.” The leader smiled. “You're finally understanding the situation.” “No.” Isabella looked directly into his eyes. “I'm understanding something else.” His smile faded. “You're not the one who wants me dead.” He stared at her. “You're afraid of whoever does.” For the first time, something changed in his expression. Isabella saw it. Fear. Real fear. And suddenly she understood. These men weren't acting alone. Someone powerful was behind them. Someone even this man feared. The leader slowly lowered his hand. “You're smarter than I expected.” “Who wants me dead?” He didn't answer. “Tell me!” “You wouldn't believe me.” “Try me.” The man looked toward the warehouse doors. Then back at Isabella. “Your father should've died with his secrets.” Isabella's voice became a whisper. “My father?” The man smiled again. “You really don't know who you are?” A thunderous explosion shook the warehouse. BOOM! The doors were ripped from their hinges. Several armed men flew backward. Gunfire erupted. Isabella dropped to the floor. Screams filled the warehouse. The lights shattered. Men in black tactical gear stormed through the smoke. They moved with terrifying precision. Three guards fell before they could even raise their weapons. Another tried to escape. A gunshot stopped him. Isabella crawled behind a metal crate. Her hands covered her ears. “What is happening?” Then the shooting stopped. Silence. Heavy footsteps approached. Isabella slowly lifted her head. A man walked through the smoke. Tall. Broad-shouldered. Dressed in a black suit beneath a long dark coat. He didn't carry his gun like the others. He held it loosely at his side. Like a man who didn't need to prove he knew how to use it. His eyes moved across the warehouse. One body. Then another. Then another. Finally, they landed on Isabella. He stopped. For several seconds, neither of them spoke. Isabella stared at him. He stared back. Then he lowered his weapon. “Isabella?” Her heart pounded. “How do you know my name?” The man didn't answer. Instead, he turned toward the surviving men. His voice became ice. “Nobody touches her.” The leader of the first group stepped forward. “You don't understand what you're interfering with.” The newcomer looked at him. “I understand perfectly.” “You're protecting a dead man's daughter.” The newcomer smiled coldly. “No.” He looked at Isabella again. “I'm protecting my boss's daughter.” Isabella felt the blood drain from her face. “Your boss?” The man stepped closer. “My name is Marcus Vale.” He paused. “And your father was Alexander Veyron.” Isabella couldn't breathe. Marcus looked at the terrified men surrounding them. Then he delivered the words that would change her life forever. “Welcome home, Isabella.” She shook her head. “No.” Marcus's expression softened slightly. “You have a lot of questions.” “Where is my mother?” His eyes darkened. Isabella knew the answer before he spoke. “We're going to find her.” “Is she alive?” Marcus didn't answer immediately. That silence was worse than anything he could've said. Isabella stood slowly. “You knew my father?” “Yes.” “You knew my mother?” “Yes.” “Then tell me the truth.” Marcus looked at her for a long moment. “The truth is that your father didn't leave you an inheritance.” He stepped closer. “He left you a war.” Outside, thunder rolled across Blackridge. And somewhere in the darkness, a phone began ringing. Marcus looked down. The stolen phone in Isabella's hand. His face changed. “Where did you get that?” Isabella stared at him. “I found it.” Marcus suddenly reached for her wrist. “Give it to me.” “Why?” “Because that phone belongs to a man who has killed everyone who has ever answered it.” The phone stopped ringing. Then it rang again. Isabella looked at the screen. There was no number. No name. Just one word. FATHER. Her fingers went cold. Marcus stared at the screen. For the first time since he'd entered the warehouse, the most feared strategist in Blackridge looked genuinely afraid. “Don't answer it,” he whispered. The phone kept ringing. Isabella looked at Marcus. Then at the screen. And against every instinct screaming inside her— She answered. “Hello?” Silence. Then a man's voice came through the speaker. Low. Calm. Familiar. A voice Isabella had never heard before. Yet somehow, somewhere deep inside her, she recognized it. “Isabella.” Her eyes widened. The voice continued. “If Marcus is with you, don't trust him.” The call ended. Isabella slowly lowered the phone. Marcus stared at her. “Who was that?” She looked up at him. “I don't know.” Then the phone rang again. This time, the message was different.
