AFTER DINNER, PARKER nods to Julie and the two ask to be excused. They offer their goodbyes and climb into the waiting Suburban. The driver takes them to his quarters. As Parker unlocks the front door of the house, he receives a text from the SEALs. It reads, We’ve boarded our flight. Headed home. He forwards the message to Taylor, who replies immediately with a simple, Great!
“Sorry about that.” He squeezes Julie’s hand. “A lot’s going on, and I need to explain plenty to you.”
