CHAPTER 34
THE STAFF ARRIVES with lunch. Jim and Donna take the bags of food and relock the door.
“Team, let’s get something to eat.” General Taylor glances from one to the other. “This is a working lunch. We’ll reconvene at 1400 and go over our progress.”
The general picks up a sandwich and turns to Jim. “What, if anything, did you find out about who Vasquez called in the Secretary of Defense’s office to turn in Dobson?”
“Nothing, sir. Other than there’s a new acting secretary, I didn’t see any evidence of staff changes.”
“Okay, keep checking.” He takes a seat at the far end of the table. Parker soon joins him. “A beer would be nice.”
Parker chuckles. “Copy that. Appears we’ll have to wait, though. So, tell me what you have rolling around on this whole thing?”
