Roxy I woke up, as expected, to an empty bed. The memory of the night before was still painfully vivid, and I tried my best not to cry again. Ace’s walls were up once more, and the heavy scent lingering in my room confirmed he had left not too long ago. I sighed deeply as I dragged myself out of bed, heading to the bathroom for a long, warm bath. My body desperately needed the reprieve. Feeling somewhat refreshed, I wrapped myself in a robe and wandered back into my room without bothering to dry off. Sometimes, I preferred to just sit and let the cool air dry my skin—it gave me time to think. I nearly screamed and instinctively prepared to lunge when I saw Aiden standing silently beside my desk.
