Chapter 28

1511 Words

Roxy The words kept replaying in my head all night. Roxy, you're pregnant. I'm pregnant. The realization was exhilarating but equally terrifying. I’d always wanted kids, but not like this. Not in the middle of a war. Could it ever be safe? It didn’t seem possible. The next day, I re-masked my scent to keep anyone else from sniffing me out. I didn’t call Ace that night either. I decided to tell him once I got home. That is, if he didn’t figure it out the second he saw me. It baffled me how I hadn’t realized it sooner. I guess all the stress had blinded me to the changes in my body. It wasn’t impossible, considering how often Ace and I had been... active. I was stupid not to have thought about it before. But now, everything was clear. I was going to be a mother in a matter of months.
