I locked up the store and pocketed my keys. I debated walking to O’Kelley’s, but it was a bit of a walk, and even though it was a nice day, walking home after dark would be chilly.
I rolled down the windows and sang along to the music. It was a good day. A good week. I couldn’t get Haley off my mind. I was starting to think she was actually going to stick around. She still had two months before her lease was up, but every night we spent together, she seemed more and more reluctant to leave.
Which made me endlessly happy.
