After I dropped Haley’s car off at her apartment, I walked back to where I’d parked my truck and sat in it. I could see into the salon, and like a creeper, I watched her work.
The light in her eyes and the joy on her face mesmerized me. She was beautiful, and it was easy to see how much she loved what she did.
The longer I watched her, the more convinced I was that I wanted the same thing. Not just Haley, but a job that made me feel the way hers made her feel. She could have a good day just by doing something she enjoyed. What was better than that?
