21 Knox gripped my hand and led me into the foray of people in Catherine Park. It was overwhelming. People turned to look at me, to sneer, then saw our linked hands and narrowed their eyes in confusion. I thought that was good, but I wasn’t entirely sure. “Do you want to get something to eat?” Knox asked. I nodded, unable to say much of anything for fear it would be overheard and misinterpreted.
