Knox didn’t open the hardware store on Sunday, so we spent the day in bed. I’d never done that with a man before. Alone, sure. Watching movies and getting over a broken heart. But with a man who spent all day telling me how beautiful I was and how happy he was to be there with me? That was new.
I debated skipping book club that night, but Knox encouraged me to go. He said he needed to check on the store and finalize his proposal for the project he was working on for the new toy store before his meeting with the owner the next day. I was really happy for him, and I was excited to see how it would turn out.
