Episode 7: First Fight

As he cast his [Lightning Bolt], the snow ape has already made a move as it hear Leon's shout, a rookie mistake.

There was a 10 meter gap between the two and the snow ape was gaining ground, but luckily for Leon his spell cast time is nearly instantaneous.

A streak of lightning left Leon's hand and entered the snow ape's head as it starts to electrocute the ape and render him unable to move for a quick second

In the quick seconds that the snow ape paused though, Leon has already finished casting another spell

Leon put his hand on the ground and shouted "[Earth Spike]"!

A row of spike shot out from the ground with each spike being bigger than the last. The spike quickly reached the ape that was immobilized and punctured it's leg

The snow ape screamed in pain "KIKKKKKK"

The snow ape quickly crushed the spike underneath his feet and took a leap at the remainng 5 meter gap between Leon and itself as it fears the ground may hurt him once more.

Leon was shocked at the snow ape's sudden leap and quickly cast his defensive skills

'[Rock Hard]'

The rocks around him quickly floated and surrounded his body, giving way to a crude looking rock armour. Right after, Leon quickly make a cross with his arm to absorb the impact.

BOOM

A loud sound echoed as the leaping ape made contact with Leon and made him sunk into the ground

'KARGHGGH' Leon screamed as the impact made him feel like dying. The most pain he had felt before this was just getting slashed by a knife from thugs but the pain he is currently feeling is countless of time worse even with [Rock Hard] activated.

Leon tried to move away and cast his spell but the ape would not allow it and it grabbed Leon's head and smash it to the ground.

THUD

The ground cracked and the impact of the smash was so hard that the back of Leon's head is currently bleeding.

'f**k, Is this how I f*****g die? TO A GODDAMN APE?! '

Leon tried to make sense of all that's happening right now "Aren't I supposed to be fighting the universe? How am i being beaten to death by this Grade 1 ape?" He can't accept it, he won't.

'[Fire Whip]'' Leon casted the fire whip spell and feed it the max of 10 mana per second. This is not the time to conserve on mana.

Before the ape could smash Leon again, he quickly command the [Fire Whip] to entangle the ape. The whip moves and quickly wrap the ape up from the leg to its shoulder.

The ape, already injured from the two spell beforehand, couldn't muster up enough strength to escape from the fire whip and was only able to stretch it a bit before giving up.

It can feel the flame scorching his blue fur and skin and roasting his insides. It was painful but it can't resist.

"Rex, that should be enough to count as me beating the ape right?" Leon asked urgently. If this was not considered as him beating it, then he could only grit his teeth through the pain and use [Wind Escape] to flee with his tail between his legs.

{Congratulations Leon, you have defeated your first demonic beast. To make the demonic beast your follower, drip a drop of your blood on his forehead.}

"A drop of blood, okay got it" Leon quickly bit his thumb and drip the blood on the currently tied up ape

His blood quickly seep through the ape's forehead and he deactivated his [Flame Whip].

The ferocious expression on the snow ape's face disappeared and it quickly turn docile as it look at Leon with an eye like that of a newborn. Leon smiled and tried to pat the ape's head but the pain suddenly intensify as the rush of adrenaline fades away.

He felt his head go blank wih pain and he can feel himself blacking out. Before he did though, he told the ape this

"H-hide me somewhere safe."

And he passed out.

The snow ape quickly took Leon's unconscious body into its hand and ran to a hidden cave which it occupies

Usually, a weak beast like itself lives in herd as there are strength in numbers, but it had been outcasted for reason that are currently omitted.

The ape was just a smart but weak Grade 1 demonic beast which is why his cave is located at a really hidden place underneath a pile of snow and ice.

The ape entered it's cave and quickly place Leon on the ground. The ape then wrap himself around Leon as it fears that its master will freeze from the cold. It has already been accustomed to the cold since its birth so it makes no differences to it whether it was bleeding or not.

And then, it slept to recover his health and strength

{.... This snow ape is somewhat a little too smart. I thought that i had to protect Leon but this ape has got a hidden cave. Has it awaken it's ancestral memory? We'll see what happen in the future}
