Dacque arrived at the Cantland home around two o’clock, just like the previous Saturday, and after he rang the doorbell the door was opened by Cammi.
“Good afternoon, Cammi. It is nice to see you again.”
“Hello Mr. LaRose. Come in, please.”
Dacque had deliberately held Cammi’s surprise behind his back as he waited for the door to be opened but once he was inside the foyer, he handed the package, wrapped in red paper, to Cammi. Her smile could melt ice cubes and Dacque’s heart skipped a beat or two. He could do this every Saturday for the remainder of his life, he thought to himself.
“Thank you, Mr. LaRose. Mommy and Daddy are waiting for us in the living room. Please come with me.”
Connie and Carson said hello but did not get up out of their chairs, allowing Cammi to continue her
