Demons in Hell

"You still remember that we’re partners, that's good!" Zuo Chuan looked calmly at Cheng Nuo and said, "I believe you know why I’m working with you. I have only one request: Ye Xi must not be harmed!" "Mr. Zuo, if you're set on taking him away, be my guest!" Cheng Nuo saw how determined Zuo Chuan was and stopped pushing. He simply said, "But the other vampires must stay!" "Do whatever you want with the other vampires, but Ye Xi, I must take him!" Zuo Chuan waved his hand, and the two bodyguards behind him stepped forward to carry away the barely conscious Ye Xi. Cheng Nuo watched Zuo Chuan’s departing figure and clenched his fists tightly in anger. Xu Yue, lying on the ground, still had a faint awareness. She looked in the direction Ye Xi was taken and a satisfied smile appeared on her lips. Ye Xi, as long as you’re safe, that's all that matters! From the moment Ye Xi saved her from the fire, she realized she had fallen in love with him! "Take all these vampires away!" Cheng Nuo ordered, and the wizards stepped forward to take them all, including Su Yixia. ... When Ye Xi regained consciousness, he opened his eyes to see a ceiling adorned with luxurious crystal chandeliers. He heard a familiar voice nearby, "You must watch him closely. Do not let him escape, or the lot of you are dead!" Ye Xi turned his head and saw Zuo Chuan, who was instructing his two ever-present bodyguards. Though still weak, Ye Xi’s willpower overpowered his condition, and he sat up abruptly. "Zuo Chuan, let me go!" Ye Xi tried to get out of bed but realized his hands were shackled by thick iron chains, preventing him from leaving. "Ye Xi, you’re awake!" Zuo Chuan smiled and approached, speaking calmly, "I told you, we’re brothers. I won’t stand by and watch you get hurt." "Where’s Su Yixia? Where is she?!" Rage flickered in Ye Xi's eyes. "Ye Xi, I’m only responsible for you. How would I know where Su Yixia is?" Zuo Chuan shrugged, feigning ignorance. "Let me out! I need to find Su Yixia!" Ye Xi roared angrily. He felt a familiar ache in his chest, like the time Eliza had left him. It was a pain so deep, so excruciating! "Ye Xi, this time, no matter what you do, I won’t let you leave!" Zuo Chuan had made up his mind. "Ye Xi, this time the wizards plan to eliminate vampires, and then werewolves. That way, our human world will be peaceful. But don't worry, I won’t let you die!" "Zuo Chuan, release me!" Ye Xi screamed, his fists clenched tightly. He summoned all his strength to try to break the chains, but no matter how hard he struggled, they wouldn’t budge! "Ye Xi, stop trying!" Zuo Chuan shook his head. "Everything in this room has been cursed by a wizard, so you won’t be able to escape." "Zuo Chuan! You bastard!" Ye Xi was furious, his rage building to a murderous intensity. But Zuo Chuan merely smiled faintly and walked out of the room. ... In a sealed room, if not for the faint glimmer of light from the large iron door, one would think it was night. "Why am I here?" Adeline awoke to find herself in a dark room, fear beginning to creep in. "I'm here too!" Jesse's voice followed. "Where’s Ye Xi?" Adeline’s brows furrowed deeply. "Where is Ye Xi?!" Xu Yue’s weak voice came from nearby, "Ye Xi was taken by Zuo Chuan!" "Taken?" Adeline’s anxiety grew. "Where are we? Why are we here? I don’t want to stay here, I want to get out!" With that, Adeline rushed towards the door, trying to open the iron door. But as soon as her hand touched it, her hand began to smoke, and she jerked it back in terror. "What happened?" Xu Yue saw Adeline’s hand smoking after touching the door and started to feel afraid. "The door must be coated with silver or vervain!" Jesse frowned. "Adeline, don’t bother struggling. If they don’t let us out, there’s no way we can escape." "Damn it!" Adeline clenched her fists in frustration. She suddenly realized her skull ring was gone, her face turning even grimmer. "My daylight ring, my daylight ring is gone!" Jesse, hearing this, quickly checked his own ring. It too was missing. He sighed, "Looks like we’ve fallen into Cheng Nuo's trap. He doesn’t plan to let us out alive." Xu Yue hadn’t quite caught on. "What ring?" "The skull ring you wear. Without it, we’ll all be burned alive by the sunlight!" No sooner had Adeline spoken than the previously sealed room’s skylight opened, and a beam of blinding sunlight streamed in, illuminating the once pitch-black room. The sunlight was so intense that it forced them to shield their eyes with their hands. "Hahahaha!" Laughter echoed from outside the room. "Today’s the day you all die!" "Cheng Nuo, you despicable coward!" Xu Yue, hearing Cheng Nuo's voice, couldn’t help but curse, "You’re a despicable villain!" "Yes, I am a villain. So what?!" Cheng Nuo laughed lightly from outside. "What can you do about it?!" Jesse looked around and saw that aside from some weeds in the corner and a few stones on the ground, the room was otherwise empty. The space was small and hollow, with the center of the room bathed in sunlight, forcing them into the corner. "Cheng Nuo, you’ll die a miserable death!" Xu Yue, momentarily forgetting she was a vampire, picked up a stone from the ground and tried to throw it at Cheng Nuo through the skylight. However, as soon as the harsh sunlight hit her, Xu Yue's entire body began to smoke, and she immediately caught fire! Terrified, she quickly leaped out of the light and retreated to the corner, where the flames gradually extinguished, and her burned skin slowly healed. For a moment, Xu Yue recalled the scene from last night when Cheng Nuo had saved her from the fire. Although her mood should have been terrible, she inexplicably felt warmth in her heart. "Jesse, think of something!" Adeline, ignoring Xu Yue's burns, complained to Jesse, "Do you really want to die here under the sun?" "Shut up!" Jesse snapped at Adeline with frustration. "Use your brain to think of a way to escape instead of whining!" At that moment, Cheng Nuo’s voice echoed from outside, laughing. "Stop thinking. This room has been cursed. You’ll never get out!" Jesse frowned slightly but glanced up at the skylight, seemingly waiting for the right moment. He couldn’t believe that with his century-old vampire experience, he wouldn’t be able to outwit a mere human wizard! Suddenly, Xu Yue noticed some movement in the pile of weeds in the corner and pointed, "Look, what’s that?!" Adeline darted over and grabbed a large rat from the pile, "It’s just a rat. Finally, we have lunch!" Hearing this, Xu Yue suddenly realized she was feeling a bit hungry. Meanwhile, Jesse discovered a small rat hole in the weed pile. Seeing the not-too-big, not-too-small hole, a sly smile curved at the corner of his mouth. ... "Who are you people?!" Su Yixia was tied to a chair, and in front of her was a table with several candles. Next to the candles was a basin of water. She watched as several people cut their fingers and let their blood drip into the basin. Seeing this, fear gripped her, and she couldn't help but shout at them. But they still ignored Su Yixia, continuing with what they were doing. One by one, people walked in, cut their fingers, and dripped their blood into the basin. The once clear water gradually turned into a basin of blood. "Let me out, let me out!" Su Yixia screamed. The last person to walk in was Cheng Nuo. Like the other wizards, he cut his wrist and let his blood drip into the basin, then picked up a knife and walked toward Su Yixia. "What are you going to do?!" Su Yixia, seeing Cheng Nuo approaching with a knife, became scared. "Don't be afraid!" Cheng Nuo smirked. "It'll only hurt a little!" With that, Cheng Nuo grabbed Su Yixia’s hand and cut it deeply. Su Yixia felt a sharp pain and watched as Cheng Nuo held her hand over the basin, letting her blood drip into it. Something strange suddenly happened. The previously scattered drops of blood began to merge into one large mass of blood, reminding Su Yixia of the ancient bloodline ritual she had seen in historical dramas. She didn’t understand why they were cutting her hand, mixing her blood with that of strangers in a basin of water. Why was her blood merging with all of theirs? What was going on? Fear surged through Su Yixia’s heart. "Su Yixia!" Cheng Nuo laughed loudly after witnessing the scene. "Looks like I wasn’t wrong. Your blood really can revive anything. I didn’t originally intend to let you stay in this world, but now I see your body has some use. So, I’ll let you live forever in a dream, never to wake up. That way, your body will always belong to me!" "Cheng Nuo, don’t do this!" Su Yixia thought Cheng Nuo was terrifying, like a devil from hell. No, even a thousand times more terrifying than a devil!
