The Accident
As the sun sets, the golden light of dusk shines on the luxurious rooftop of the Kingsley Noble Academy, creating a stunning view. The bell for the end of class rings, and the well-dressed students eagerly rush out of the classrooms.
In a corner of one classroom, a girl with a delicate appearance, dressed in her school uniform, is excitedly packing up her books. Her face glows with undisguised joy.
At the entrance of Kingsley Noble Academy, a striking Ferrari sports car is parked conspicuously by the roadside, its dazzling light overshadowing any other vehicle. A handsome young man is seated inside, his face chiseled like a sculpture, with sharp, defined features.
His gentle gaze remains fixed on the school gate, and when he spots the petite figure in a school uniform walking out, his smile grows even brighter. Ignoring the curious stares of his classmates, he steps out of the car and mischievously approaches Su Yixia.
Su Yixia skillfully hands her bag to Cheng Nuo before walking past him directly toward the sports car.
"I have a surprise for you today!" Cheng Nuo smiles mysteriously at Su Yixia as he gets into the car, steps on the accelerator, and smoothly drives forward. Su Yixia's face lights up with a bright smile. "What kind of surprise?"
"You'll see soon enough," Cheng Nuo says, eager to reach their destination, where he hopes Su Yixia will be overjoyed.
Unconsciously, his foot presses harder on the gas pedal, and the car speeds ahead like an arrow. "Cheng Nuo, slow down! Don’t drive so fast!" Su Yixia warns, her body lurching forward as the car picks up speed.
At that moment, a large truck approaches from the opposite direction. "Watch out!" Su Yixia cries out in terror, her eyes widening in horror. But it is too late. By the time Cheng Nuo realizes what’s happening, the sports car has already collided with the oncoming truck.
With a loud crash, the Ferrari is completely destroyed. Cheng Nuo, who wasn’t wearing a seatbelt, is thrown from the car and lands heavily on the ground, his body drenched in blood. Su Yixia, meanwhile, is trapped inside the wrecked car.
Blood trickles down her head, and for the first time in her life, she feels the sensation of impending death. Is she about to die?
She hasn’t even kissed Cheng Nuo yet. She still has a younger brother in middle school, a lonely mother, and so much more to do. Is her life really going to end like this?
She struggles to move, trying to crawl out of the wreckage, but her arms, once delicate, are now covered in torn, bloodied flesh. The pain is excruciating.
As her vision dims, she catches sight of a blurry figure descending from the sky—a young man dressed in a black coat. He appears to be around seventeen or eighteen, with a face so stunningly handsome it seems otherworldly.
He walks calmly toward the wrecked car, and as he lifts Su Yixia from the wreckage, his deep blue eyes turn a fiery red, the temptation of blood almost overpowering him. Yet, something familiar about her face causes him to restrain himself.
Biting into his own wrist, he lets his blood drip into her mouth, and within moments, her wounds begin to heal miraculously.
The last thing Su Yixia sees before she loses consciousness is the young man’s face. Is he an angel? Is she dead and in heaven?
When she regains consciousness, she finds herself in a dark, confined space, her surroundings hard and unyielding. Panic sets in as she realizes she might be inside a coffin. She’s not dead, is she? She pinches herself, and the sharp pain confirms that she’s still alive.
Just then, a blinding light pierces the darkness, and as her eyes adjust, she sees the face of the young man again, his cold, aristocratic features now stained with blood. "Are you an angel or a demon?" she asks, her voice trembling.
"What do you think?" he replies with a faint, teasing smile, his deep, mesmerizing eyes holding her gaze captive.
As she struggles to remember what happened, she only recalls the accident. "You were in a car accident," he tells her calmly.
Her memory slowly returns, and with it, the image of Cheng Nuo's face. "Where is Cheng Nuo? Where is he?" she asks, panic rising in her voice.
The young man’s eyes flash red, and with a glance, he commands her to forget everything about the accident and about Cheng Nuo. As she falls unconscious again, he carries her away into the night, disappearing without a trace.
Meanwhile, in a luxurious villa, a man in his twenties, with a handsome yet cold demeanor, sips a glass of red wine. When the young man returns, the older one questions his decision to save her.
"Why did you save her?"
"There's no reason," the young man replies emotionlessly. "I never need a reason for what I do."
"But you know, humans are our enemies. What will you do if she finds out your true identity?"
"I don’t care," the young man says, his expression still indifferent. He himself doesn’t understand why he saved her, only that the sight of her had moved him to act.
The older man, known as Zuochuan, reminds him that it was he who saved the young man three years ago and helped him achieve his current success. But the young man, known as Yexi, remains unfazed, his icy demeanor unbroken. He is not human, but a vampire.
Three years ago, he was saved by Zuo Chuan. In return, he helped Zuo Chuan build his business empire, bringing it to great heights, while Zuo Chuan provided him with a life of luxury. Their relationship, at its core, was based purely on mutual benefit.
"Leave?" Zuo Chuan chuckled. "Yexi, if your kind were coming for you, they would have done so by now. This city is so peaceful that no one even suspects the existence of vampires."
"They will find me," Yexi replied calmly, giving Zuo Chuan a glance before disappearing from the villa like a flash of lightning.
As Zuo Chuan watched Yexi's departing figure, his brow furrowed slightly. "Yexi, I won’t let humans harm you," he murmured to himself.
