The scene at the seaside suddenly flashed in her mind: the black silhouette, the black leather shoes, Xu Yue falling into the sea. Everything, everything, was magnified in her brain.
Cheng Nuo opened the door, and the handsome Ye Xi pushed past him and walked in. "Where’s Su Yixia? Where is she?"
"Ye Xi, why are you here?" Su Yixia quickly set down the cake she hadn’t started eating yet and hurried to Ye Xi. "What about Su Qian? How is he now?"
"Su Yixia!" Ye Xi frowned, glanced at Cheng Nuo, then grabbed her hand, ready to leave. "We’re leaving here right now!"
"Ye Xi, what’s going on?" Su Yixia could sense that something was off with Ye Xi’s expression.
"Su Yixia, let's talk outside!" Ye Xi insisted, pulling her towards the door.
"Wait a minute!" Cheng Nuo called out, calm and composed. "Su Yixia, I specially prepared this cake for you today. You're not going to leave without even eating a bit, are you?"
"Ye Xi, just wait a minute." Su Yixia felt a bit awkward. She always felt like she owed Cheng Nuo something, so she intended to eat the cake he had carefully prepared for her.
"I’ve found your mother," Ye Xi’s words made Su Yixia freeze mid-action.
"Found her?" Su Yixia immediately lost all interest in the cake. She anxiously looked at Ye Xi and asked, "Where is my mother now? Where is she?"
Ye Xi cast a meaningful glance at Cheng Nuo, then said slowly, "Her body has been found by the police."
"Mom!" Su Yixia couldn’t accept the truth and collapsed on the spot.
Ye Xi quickly caught her, carrying her in his arms, then shot a cold look at Cheng Nuo. "Cheng Nuo, I know you're working with Zuo Chuan, but I’m telling you, whatever you do, don’t hurt Su Yixia, or I won’t let you off!"
With that, Ye Xi disappeared with Su Yixia, leaving the room in a flash.
Cheng Nuo stared at the door, clenched his fists, and slammed them into the wall in fury. "Ye Xi, just you wait!"
Cheng Nuo threw all the cake away. Soon after, a small cat ran over, happily licking the cream off the cake. But within a minute, the cat collapsed, convulsing and foaming at the mouth, dead.

Several policemen stood there. The coffin lid had been opened, and Su Yixia’s mother’s body lay intact inside. The coroner was performing an examination.
Earlier, the police had received a report from the public. Due to the rain, the hillside's soil had slid away, revealing a coffin. Inside, they found a person lying there!
"Detective Zhang, Ms. Su suffocated to death," the coroner reported after completing the examination.
Detective Zhang frowned at Su Yixia’s mother lying in the coffin, his expression grim. "Who locked her inside and suffocated her? Investigate Ms. Su’s family, find out if she had any enemies."
"Detective Zhang!" A policeman rushed over. "We just received a report that a girl named Xu Yue from Kingsley Academy has been missing for days!"
"Missing?" Detective Zhang furrowed his brow even deeper. One case was still unresolved, and now another had emerged. When would it ever end?
"Mom!" Su Yixia, having just regained consciousness, rushed to the scene with Ye Xi. She saw her mother’s pale face lying in the coffin and cried, throwing herself onto her mother. "Mom, wake up! Don’t scare me!"
No matter how much she cried, her mother remained motionless.

Ye Xi’s brows knitted tighter as he gazed at Su Yixia’s mother. He couldn’t shake the feeling that Cheng Nuo was involved in this, but he had no concrete proof yet.
"Miss, please don’t get too emotional!" Detective Zhang, seeing how upset she was, tried to comfort her. "The dead cannot come back to life. Please restrain your grief. What you need to do now is cooperate with the police. Can you tell me if your mother had any enemies recently?"
"Enemies?" Su Yixia shook her head numbly. "My mom always got along with everyone. She never had any enemies. Who would do such a thing to her?"
A policeman whispered something to Detective Zhang, making his face darken. He looked back at Su Yixia. "Su Yixia, is Su Qian your younger brother?"
"Yes!" Su Yixia, still in tears, nodded.
"Where is your brother?" Detective Zhang pressed.
"Su Qian? Where is Su Qian?" Su Yixia immediately looked up at Ye Xi, asking anxiously, "Ye Xi, where’s Su Qian? Where did he go?"
"I’m sorry, I don’t know," Ye Xi frowned and shook his head.
In truth, Ye Xi had hidden Su Qian in a safe place. He couldn’t let Su Qian come to such a place. Earlier, Su Qian had bitten someone on the street, and there was no way Ye Xi could bring him here. So, he had no choice but to keep Su Qian locked up.
"A witness saw your brother, Su Qian, bite someone on the street earlier today," Detective Zhang said sternly. "The person he bit is in serious condition. There’s severe arterial bleeding, and they’re still in the hospital fighting for their life. We suspect that your brother may be responsible for your mother’s death."
"No! That’s impossible! Su Qian would never hurt Mom!" Despite having a terrible dream before, Su Yixia vehemently denied it. How could Su Qian harm their mother? No, Su Qian wasn’t like that!
She couldn’t believe Su Qian would do such a thing!
"Su Yixia, is your brother really the vampire that people have been talking about?" Detective Zhang asked, not really believing in vampires but compelled to ask due to the rumors.
As soon as he asked, Su Yixia’s face turned pale. "Officer, what are you talking about? What? Vampire?"
"Ms. Su Yixia, if you see your brother, please have him turn himself in at the police station. Can you do that?" Detective Zhang added.
Su Yixia’s expression became blank. She didn’t know whether to nod or shake her head. She was lost, unsure of what to do.
"Officer, we’ll definitely cooperate with the investigation and notify the police as soon as we find Su Qian." Ye Xi quickly stepped forward, putting his arm around Su Yixia’s shoulder.
"Alright," Detective Zhang replied, not pushing them further. "You can go now. We still need to conduct further examinations on the body, and we’ll transfer her to the hospital. We’ll notify you later."
"Alright. Su Yixia, let’s go," Ye Xi said, trying to pull Su Yixia away.
"Mom! Mom!" Su Yixia still refused to leave.
"Su Yixia, let's go!" Ye Xi had no choice but to use his powers to temporarily control Su Yixia and forcibly took her away.
"Detective Zhang!" Just after Su Yixia and Ye Xi had left, the coroner found a phone in Su Yixia’s mother’s pocket. Using tweezers, she pulled it out and placed it in a transparent evidence bag. "I found a phone!"
Detective Zhang wasn’t particularly surprised. "Bring it back to the station."

"Let me out!" Inside a sealed, dark iron room, Su Qian, eyes red, banged on the walls and shouted, "Brother Ye Xi, let me out! I want to see my mom!"

"Su Qian!" Ye Xi looked at him coldly. "I'm doing this for your own good. The police are looking for you everywhere. They’ve already discovered you’re a vampire. You have to stay here for now. Once the situation calms down, you can come out!"
"Brother Ye Xi, please, let me out, okay?" Su Qian was almost begging.
Ye Xi closed his eyes gently and hardened his resolve, "I'm sorry, I can't let you leave here. I have to take responsibility for you and Su Yixia."
As soon as Ye Xi finished speaking, the skylight of the iron room automatically shut. Su Qian tried to rush out, only to find an invisible barrier blocking his way!

"Ye Xi, how is Su Qian?" Su Yixia suddenly opened her eyes, finding herself lying in bed, with Ye Xi sitting beside her. She immediately asked.
"Su Qian is fine," Ye Xi answered with a frown, "But right now, it's not safe for him to go out. The police are already watching him."
"Ye Xi, have you thought about..." Su Yixia paused, as if making a significant decision, and then spoke slowly, "Have you thought about taking Su Qian and me back to the Blood Clan?"
"Together?" Ye Xi immediately rejected Su Yixia's idea, "The Blood Clan is in chaos right now. It's not a place Su Qian can go! Besides, Su Yixia, I can't let you come with me into danger!"
