MAYA'S POV "Lady Aurora and Maya will arrive shortly." I heard the pilot announced. "Since Harriet called for us, we have to land in Monarch. After it's all done, I will send you home myself." She will send me home herself?! "There's no need for that my lady. I can walk home myself." I immediately said. "Nonsense. Besides, I haven't met your family yet. It's customary for the grande soeur to do so." Ugh, I just can't say no to that beautiful smile. "So, hows your lesson with Aura? She's being a good teacher?" If only she knows how crazy her method was. "It was ... such an eye-opening." She chuckled. "Oh really? I hope she didn't do anything bad to you." I don't know if she's being naked in front of me is bad or not. "No. Nothing bad happened." I smiled. It's best for me if she doesn't know what actually happens. Aurora chuckled before she looked outside the window. "Seems like we arrived in Monarch." She's right. We're back to reality. Back to the high-end society where they judge people like its a daily routine. Geez! Aura really made me think badly about the people in her cycle. I'm not sure why she told me all those bad stories but I think she wants me to get myself ready whenever I'm facing that kind of people she mentioned. When the helicopter landed, a group of maids was waiting for us. One of them opened the door for us and we walked out. "Lady Harriet is waiting for you both." Informed one of the maids when the helicopter leaves the pad. "Lead us," Aurora said. We followed the maid towards Harriet's office. I don't know why but I'm feeling kinda nervous. Not like this is the first time meeting I'm meeting the director. I took a deep breath before walking into the director's office. "Welcome back. You know, I've received tons of complaints from the student parents." Aurora took a seat and smiled. "I'm sure you can handle it. What is it that you need us to be here for? I can't belong. I need to send Maya home. She's been gone for a week." Harriet sighed and placed an official looking card on her table. "King August and his family invited you, the Scion to a ball. Your soeur is invited as well." I'm sure my whole body system just went numb when I heard what the director said. "Hold on. Why does our uncle personally invited us?" Aurora asked. "Because a princess from the neighboring kingdom decided to transfer to Monarch. The king thought smooth talker like you will easily persuade her to make sure she does transfer here." A princess? A real-life princess transferring to Monarch?! "A princess? Who?" Aurora seems agitated. "Princess Braylin of the Malia Kingdom." I honestly never heard of that kingdom before. Hell, I never even out of Esnaria kingdom before. Aurora abruptly stood up and sigh heavily. "Seriously sister? You agreed that that b***h should enroll here? Why? Why do you even...Jesus.." Oh... what's with her reaction? "Aurora has bad memories of Princess Braylin. If I recall correctly, she was the person who pops your cherry." Pop her what? What does she mean by that? "Your lucky that she's as innocent as always," Aurora said before sitting down again. "You seriously don't know what I meant?" The director asked me. I shake my head no. "Oh, my... God bless your soul. Such pure woman you are. It's rare to find that. Even my sister here in impure." Aurora literally threw a ball of paper towards the chairwoman. "Stop talking." Aurora turned to me. "Don't listen to her." I nodded my head. "Anyway, I'm sure Aura has taught you a thing or two about facing Esnaria's elite. Right?" I nodded. "Dance? Table etiquette as well?" Again I nodded. "Good, So you're in good hands for the past week. So now all you have to do is choosing the perfect attire to wear ....." she trailed off. "I'm sure our mother has something from her line right? Bring her to the mansion and she should do some fitting. The sooner, the better. Any alteration needed will be done before the ball." Aurora nodding her head while her sister explaining it. "Sure. Is that all?" Harriet nodded. "That's all. The rest of the things that happened in Monarch while your away are on top of your table back in Azalea Mansion. Take a good read when you have the chance." Aurora stood up and we both walked out of the director office. "Going home now?" Aurora asked when we're outside of the director's building. "Sure." For the very first time in my life, I actually gawking at the sight of a car. My entire life, I never care much about automobile but the thing is, the one she owns, it's beyond what I always think about cars. "Type in your address on the GPS system." I did as told and was surprised when the monitor spoke back. "Welcome to Heroux Navigation System. Hello Aurora." I was beyond shocked when I heard a female robotic voice speaking to us. "My brother, Hezner, is the genius behind HNS or Heroux Navigation System. Believe it or not, he was only 14 years old when he developed this system on his own. Now, it's been globalized and used in most countries." Her family must be one of those with geniuses. What a nice combo. Come to think of it, I don't know much about Aurora's family like she knows about mine. I mean she hired a private investigator to search for my entire existence. The only things I know about her is that she's rested to the king and she has an addiction to gamble. Other than that, she's a mystery. When we arrived, I was curious about why did she turn off the engine. "You really going to meet my family .... my lady.." geez! I sound so rude just now. "Of course. As your grande soeur, I should have a proper introduction to your family. It's a Sunday, I'm sure everyone's home. Right?" She smiled before walking out of the car. I sighed mentally and walked out as well. It's not that I hate the idea of her meeting my family it's just, the way her lifestyle is, my home environment is so not to her standard. I thanked the maid who carrying my suitcase from the car she was on. I can't believe the maids even followed us here. "Your Welcome but I will carry them to your room." I sighed and let her be. These maids can't even say no to a job they received from Aurora. Aurora didn't get to knock when my mother opened the door for us. "Lady Aurora... it's such a pleasure to finally meet you in person." Momma actually curtsy in front of Aurora! "Pleasure all mine Lady Harmony." Aurora returned the gesture with a curtsy. "Please, I'm not a Lady. I am no longer associated myself with the Blyton family. I don't deserve the gesture from a member of the royal family." Momma opened the door wide enough for Aurora to walked in. I followed her footstep and told the maid where my room is. Seconds later she walked out and stood behind Aurora. Right on time, my father and brothers walked into the house. From what I can see, they just came back from their weekly fishing trip. "Oh, I'm sorry. I didn't know we have company." Dad was being polite. "Dad, you were circling the car parked outside just seconds before walking in here saying 'oh my oh my oh my! An R8!'." I chuckled when Simon, my older brother mentioned it. "Hush Simon don't embarrass me in front of the Lady." Dad blushed. "I can't believe Lady Aurora is actually in our home." Said my oldest brother, Leon. "We work in one of your many factories in town," Leon added. That gained Aurora's attention. "Really? Which is it?" Aurora smiled. "The electronic factory." Aurora was nodding her head. "Big catch today?" Aurora asked my father and brothers. "Not much but we will have a splendid dinner. Why not join us for dinner? I hope you have the appetite for fish." Dad actually invited a lady of the high-end society to eat here?! Is he mental?! "Really? I'm not intruding am I?" Momma hushed her. "Nonsense. A friend of Maya is a friend of ours." Suddenly a flashing light hit us both. "Leon!" I called him. He immediately hid his phone. "My friends need to know a celebrity is in my house." Aurora actually laughed at his defense. "All you have to do is ask for a photo with me. I don't bite." Leon actually blushed in a deep shade of red. "Ruby, why don't you help Lady Harmony in the kitchen." The maid nodded and took the fish from my father's hands. So her name is ruby huh... "I'm sorry for this but let us clean ourselves. I know we smell horrible right now." Dad excused himself and so does my brother. "You have a lovely home here. I wish my family would gather around without being asked." She sounds so ... sad. "They only come home when they were asked to?" Aurora nodded. "Aura moved out, Harriet is married, Hezner, he's home but he's always busy inside his laboratory and Octavius, well he's only home for the weekend. He lived in the dorm of Monarch Academy." If I recall correctly, that's her twin brother. "We have all the luxury in the world but I don't know, family bonding is not something my family provides me with." Aurora turned to me with a smile. "Tell you what. Come here when you feel alone and sad. My family and this house are not like the main mansion where you usually live at but I'm sure their ambiance is different." I smiled back. "You're my grande soeur. My family is your family, right?" She nodded. "Come on. Let's wait in my room." I actually invited her to my domain! What am I doing?! I lead the way towards my room and wish that it's not that dirty. When I opened the door, to my surprise it's clean enough! Momma did a good job cleaning my room. Thank you, Momma! "What a typical room for a teenager you have." She chuckled and took a picture frame. "Who are they?" She asked. "My friends from my old school." Her eyes widen. "They all, they're your friends? You're popular." I chuckled. "I'm far from popular. I'm just friendly to everyone." She placed the picture frame on the bedside table. "I'm glad I picked you as my soeur. Since your all friendly, there won't be a problem for you to mingle with the people from the elite society." That's a good thing? "I can't lie to you, I'm nervous about the ball. I mean, going to a royal ball and meet the princess? I think I'm gonna die from a heart attack." She actually laughing at my rambling. "I'm glad you could ramble like this to me. At first, you were so worried you might say something indecent to me but now you actually treat me like a grande soeur." I blushed. How is it possible for a person to have such a beautiful laughter as well? "Is this who I think it is?" She was referring to my ex's picture. Hold on, I still have his picture in my collection? "That's Morris, my ex-boyfriend." She took a long look at the picture before she placed it back on the table. I took the chance to rip it to shreds. "So feisty. But you do love him once upon a time, right?" I did. Not anymore. "He's old news. From what I can see in the social media, he's getting himself a nice new girlfriend. At least he got his dream to date the popular girl." I scoffed when I think about it. He should rot in the gutter to hell I care. Aurora chuckled. "So much anger, I like this side of you. Anyway, may I?" She was asking for permission to sit on the bed. "Sure, please do." She smiled before looking around my room. "You have such collection of books. I'm impressed. No wonder it didn't take much effort for you to be enrolled in Monarch." Didn't take much effort? Because Of Monarch's high expectation, I studied hard for the entrance exam. "The exam was hard but I manage." Aurora snicker. "Manage? Your name was on the top 5 list of student who manages to enter in Monarch. It was quite a shocker for us. But with all the blue ribbon I witnessing now, it's nothing shocking anymore." Blue ribbon huh? It's the only way I could make my parents happy. If I can see their smiling and proud face whenever I'm on stage receiving my award, that's enough for me. "Another picture of Morris and your friends huh?" She pointed at a group class picture. That was taken before the last day of school. "That's old news now ..." before I could finish my words, I heard a knock from the door. It's my mother. "Maya, you have a visitor." She opened the door wide enough for my best friend from my old school to enter. "Celest?" Celest smiled at me. "Hey, Maya. I'm sorry. I didn't know you have a visitor." Celest smiled at Aurora but she froze when Aurora smiled back. "Oh my God..." she trailed off. "Lady Aurora, Celest, my best friend. We grew up together." Aurora smiling at her. Celest didn't know the proper greeting as she just stared at the Aurora without saying anything. "Celest." I waved my hands in front of her face. "Celest!" I clapped my hands to gained her attention. "I'm sorry. I totally forgot why I'm here in the first place. Give me a second to think." Celest said while still staring at Aurora. "Seems like your friend here is a fan of mine." Now that she mentioned it, she did blabbering about a person she admires going to Monarch the day before I went to the academy. I didn't listen much because I never have the slightest clue what she's talking about. "Oh! My parents invited you and the rest of your family to our home. A little barbecuing to celebrate my sister's graduation." Did she graduate already? "Since Lady Aurora is here, I might as well invite you too. You can bring your friends from Monarch as well." Celest finally came back to reality. "Really? I'm not intruding or anything?" Aurora asked my friend. Celest once again froze when Aurora spoke to her. "Is that a yes or a no?" Aurora turned to face me. "That's mean she said yes. Friends from Monarch huh. The only person I friend with is the president and their soeurs." Maybe I should give the other Soeurs a call. I did ask for their number before. "Is it really okay for me to come?" Aurora asked. "The more the merrier. Please do come." Celest shyly said. Oh... she finally has the courage to be brave enough to open her mouth! "In that case, I'll bring Thea and the presidents as well." Aurora seems happy. "Presidents?" Celest face me. "She was referring to her childhood friend who's in the student government together with us." Celest looked a little confused. "Student government is mainly known as student council. I'm in the student council." Celest dropped her jaw. "For real? I thought you hate bearing responsibility." I immediately shut her mouth. "Oh, What is this I heard?" Aurora was on to me! Damn it Celest! You don't have to tell her that part of me. "Oh, Celest, will the other friends of Maya be coming as well?" Aurora asked politely. Celest nodded. "As you can see, we live in a small community. We're friends with everyone." Aurora nodding her head. "Perfect. I shall take this opportunity of introducing myself to your friends. As your grande soeur that is." Perfect! Just perfect. More gawking and people freezing upon meeting her. I should get used to this starting from now. "Hey you girls, dinner is ready. Momma said to call for you three." Leon said when he's at the door. Aurora stood up from the bed and followed Leon out. I still can't believe that the same person who people look up to as the most refined lady having dinner with my family and friend. To top it all off, she's going to eat the same food I'm eating! I'm worried that her expensive taste bud will betray her. I gulped down my saliva when she took the first bite. She hummed the tasted as she chewing. "Delicious. Lady Harmony, my mother was telling the truth when she said that you have the best cooking hands ever." Aurora actually smiling at us all. "How are Autumn and Glen? Well, I hope." Momma actually acquaintance with Aurora's parents? I thought only of her mother. "Well, I haven't seen them in a week. But, I'm pretty sure they both fine." Celest was making a weird sound. "Haven't seen your parents in a week? If those were my parents I probably am skin alive." Leon and Simon laughing at Celest's home life. "Well mine always working when I was still young. Now that I have my own responsibility and all, I don't quite miss them like I used too. Work makes me occupied." Aurora explained. "Well, that's just not the way a family should be," Leon said and really shocked us all. "If I never saw my family for a whole week I might as well die. I can't live another day without teasing my cute little sister." Simon was messing up my hair. "Simon! Stop it." But he didn't. "It must be hard growing up as an elite huh?" Celest asked. "Not really. Just think of it like this. All the things you want, you get. But of course, it comes with a price. Family, freedom, your life, safety will all be jeopardized." That made my mind wonder about the ball. Will I really have to dance after just a week of the lesson? What if I messed up big time? Aurora will be the topic of gossip and rumors if that happens. I didn't even notice I was sighing in front of my family. "That's such a bad habit to have, Maya." Aurora winked at me. "Should I punish you for being disrespectful in front of the food your mother cook for us all?" I'm not sure if she's being playful or serious. I immediately apologized. Aurora laughed at my action. "For that, I drop my hat to you, Lady Aurora. You really changed our Maya to be such a refined lady." Momma said while smiling at me. So they were talking about me while I was worried but the ball? Geez! Such family they are. But... Who can blame them?
