MAYA'S POV "So wait. You, Stella and Luna, whom I haven't met is the student government presidents? My old school does have its own student government but it was named as student council and the president, she has to follow what the principal said. From the things I've heard today, you actually listened to a fellow student! A Scion is it?" Ophelia nodded at my explanation. I still have no idea what to think of this so call prestigious academy. "Look, the Scion has power over the faculty member because she's the member of a high ranking nobility family, a conglomerate if you may say so. The Scion's family has power all over this country. Thus, like her title, Scion meaning a descendent from a notable family." Sound like a big shot to me. If she's that rich, why do some of the people in this town suffer? It's the modern ages but the things I happened to see on the streets said otherwise. I can't say that out loud to her. She probably from a notable family herself. "Any other question?" She asked when we finally arrived at our class. "Not for now," I said before I went to my seat. "Good. Come on. Don't think of me as the president. Think of me as a friend. We are friends yes?" Ophelia smiled at me. I don't know if I can be friends with such important people in school. I mean, it's only my second day and everyone's eyes were all over me, staring and glaring at me for no reason. They probably felt like I'm a nuisance for hanging out with the president. Not to mention with Stella yesterday too. I sighed heavily. "That's a long, heavy sigh." Ophelia looks like she's having fun teasing the new girl. I was just thinking about what should I do for dinner when someone standing beside my table. I thought it was Ophelia but when I turned its somebody else. Somebody I learned to hate on my first day. That foul mouth snob b***h, Lisa Lotte "I'm curious. How is it possible for a commoner like you to associate yourself with the student government president? Not to mention you even manage to gain Stella Flame attention." Well, at least she's not being rude ... who am I kidding? She just called me a commoner. "There's a way that has been used for generation. It's called being friendly and make friends." She suddenly pushed my head on my table hard. She pressed on my head against the table. I tried to remove my head from her but somehow she's too strong for me. "Don't be smart with me. I have a black belt. What? You think rich people like me have no skill? Your dead wrong." "I appreciate the gesture here but.... how about you use that knowledge of yours in trying to help the police catch a criminal instead," I said while she's pressing my head even harder on my table. Seriously why isn't anyone stopping her! "You better not get your sorry ass affiliate with the president or even thinking about having some alone time with the Scion. Your filthy presence will only taint her pure body." She finally released me right before Mrs. Topaz walked in. "Miss Lotte. I hope you didn't break your promise with the headmistress about causing problems with the students. She might call your parents again." I slowly lifted my head up and face that b***h. "Oh no Mrs. Topaz. The new girl and I just being friends, that's all." She glared at me. "Remember my warning commoner. If you don't want to be in trouble, you'll listen to me." She pushed my head when Mrs. Topaz turned to the screen. I sighed. Well, something never changes in my school life and that's bullying. And here I am hoping for a peaceful day of school life when I transferred to this forsaken academy for snobs. I sighed mentally while preparing my study apparatus. The class went well thus it's finally lunch time. Ophelia never came back to class and the teachers seem to be okay with it. Usually, even the president has the obligation to be in class. I shake my head from being curious about her and her duty. I should try to stay away from her. I really don't want to be in that b***h's cycle of harassment ever again. I sighed. Expensive fee and yet, I still have to eat my lunch alone in the washroom. I don't want to eat my lunch in the class because Ophelia might be there and ask me to follow her again. I can't go to the cafeteria as well because Stella might be there. I was about to chew on my lunch when I thought of something. Why don't I have my lunch in the school garden? Yesterday's tour with Ophelia and Stella lead me to a place where there are peace and quiet. Maybe I can go there since it's the school property as well. I hid my lunch inside my jacket and pretended to use the toilet and washed my hands. I decided to rethink the way towards that garden I came across yesterday. That beautiful garden should be near the classroom building, I think. Ugh, why do I have such bad sense of direction? I wonder the school courtyard for the so call garden before I stumbled across a field of different kind of flowers. This looks so much like a flower farm. I'm not sure if I'm at school anymore. This isn't the garden but it's peaceful enough. I know some of the flowers here and the cost to have such lavish varieties, it must cost a boatload of money! I kneel down at a group of sunflowers and leaned in. Wow. To have this in a school... just wow. I stood up and look around the field before I noticed a stone bench not far from where I'm standing. I went to the bench and sit down while facing the field. I took my lunch and began to eat. "To have such peaceful lunch... now, this is life," I said to myself. "Oh. This is a first time someone came to this field. Are you new here?" I nearly drop my lunch when I heard a soft voice coming from behind me. When I turned, I think I forgot how to breathe for a second. She's gorgeous! Amazing even! She's a goddess! "I'm sorry." She apologized. "I didn't mean to startle you." She smiled. Oh my God! My heart is pounding for no reason! What the hell is happening to me?! I never knew I would be feeling this way towards someone who has the same gender as mine! "Are you new?" She asked politely. I just froze there, don't know what to say or do. "Oh. Are you mute? Or deaf?" She asked before she started to show me the hand language to me. I shake my head. "I'm sorry. I'm not deaf nor mute. I'm just. I don't know what to do. Did I trespassing a private property?" I asked. From the clothing she wore, she's a student here in this academy as well. "Oh no. This is a public property. It actually belongs to the gardening club. I'm here for the peace and quiet as well." She smiled. "May I?" She asked for permission to sit on the bench. "Yes. Sure." I moved a little to make room for her to sit on. "Ahhh... I miss this place. I've been away for so long, I completely have forgotten how calm a life can be when I'm here." I know how she felt. "You seems trouble. Something the matter?" She asked. "Oh no. I'm just new, that's all. It's hard to be the new girl." She chuckled. "Oh, I know how you feel. I've been through it countless times." She turned to me. I don't know how but I think I heard a sweet classical melancholy playing in the background whenever she smiled for me. Am I losing my mind now? "But the experience you gained from all the new places shall be a great source of knowledge, don't you think?" She's absolutely right. I finally noticed her tie is a different color from mine. I think she's a senior. "Second year?" She asked. "Yes, ma'am. I'm a second year. You're a senior correct?" She nodded. We continue to talk until something embarrassing happen to her. I heard her stomach grumbling. She blushed deep red and offer her my other lunch to her. "Oh no. That's yours. Don't concern yourself about me." I took her hand and place the sandwich in her hand. God, why am I being this brave! Well, at least I felt her soft hands against mine. "I'm sorry for the quality of this lunch. It's the only thing I have and can afford. It's not much but at least it could make your hunger a little bearable." I smiled. "Oh thank you. I love sandwich. I'm sure it tastes great." I don't know if she's being polite or she just want to make me feel better. "I was in such rush to be here I forgot about my lunch. Anyway, why are you here while you can eat some of that scrumptious meal at the cafeteria for free?" She asked as she took a bite of my sandwich. "Well, I do want to eat the food in the cafeteria but, I don't feel welcome in there at all." I chuckled. "As you can see, I'm a commoner. I don't deserve to be here. But my parents said it's the best school in town and my future will determine if I'm a student of Monarch. This is only my second day and I receive a bunch of warnings from my own classmates and whoever I passed at the hallways." I should shut my mouth! But I can't stop it! My mouth has the mind of its own. "Oh, I'm sorry to hear that. You should tell your homeroom teacher about that. The faculty member should know what to do next." I shake my head. "No. I'm sure if I said anything I probably received something far worse than a warning. Isn't that why usually happen in movies?" She chuckled. "Movies huh? Well for me, those students who harassing others should be stopped. Even if they're the member of an important family or from a nobility, they should be taught about manners and punishment." She finished her lunch. "Thank you for the delicious lunch." She thanked me. "Be strong. I'm sure it will end soon. Despite that, Monarch is the best school and I have fun being a student here. I'm sure you'll find that happiness behind these walls." She stood up and went to my front. "If you ever feel you need to talk about anything, feel free to come here by lunchtime. I usually come here myself. Let's befriend." I nodded. She says her goodbyes and left. Suddenly I realized something crucial. I forgot to ask her name! Maya, how can you be so dumb! But, I probably would remember her if we ever cross path at school. Who can forget such beautiful woman I've ever seen in my entire life! I sighed dreamily while going back to my classroom. "There you are! I was looking for you." A voice brought me back to reality when I entered the classroom. "Hey, Ophelia." I smiled while that b***h, Miss Lotte glare at me for greeting Ophelia. "Stella and I thought you beat the cafeteria. We actually waited and wanted to introduce you to Luna." They were going to introduce me to the third president?! Somehow I think if that happens, my head probably be Miss Lotte decoration. "I'm sorry. I have some errand to do for a teacher earlier." Ophelia sat on her seat and sighed. "I know what happened. One of our classmates told me. Don't worry. I'll talk to Miss Lotte later." My eyes widen when I turned to her while sitting down. "What? No.. please don't. I don't want any trouble. She's right. I'm a commoner and a commoner should know its place." She suddenly stood up and gained everyone's attention. "Monarch Women's Academy opens its door for everyone because of a reason. Our Scion and the rest of the faculty members thought that it's best to spread the academy's wings to others who are not in privilege like the rest of the student here. Usually, those who came here don't even use the opportunity to its fullest." Ophelia said out loud. "Here in Monarch, there's no such thing like a social ladder of status quo. Everyone is on the same boat and there are no rules stating that you all, who are born in a notable family should label other students who're not from a family like yours as commoner, maggot or mud!" This turns out to be something big, isn't it? "As you all may know, my father was a servant and my mother, who's from the El Hara conglomerate family, marry him out of love. If you labeled our classmate as a commoner, that's mean you labeled me, the next head of El Hara conglomerate as a commoner as well." She faces Miss Lotte. "Lisa Lotte, I thought you promised the headmistress you will not use your power to bullied everyone in this academy. If Scion knows about this, she will do something about your family and even your status in the school. This is not a warning, just a reminder." Ophelia sits back down right after the teachers walked in. There's a reason why she's, a second year is one of the presidents in the student government. She has the guts to speak her mind off. She's perfect for representing every student voices. Ophelia smiled at me but not that b***h, Miss Lotte. She mouth something but I decided not take it seriously. After the class is over, I overheard some of my classmates talked about the Scion visiting the first year classes, greeted them all. Why would a Scion visit the classes? "You're wondering why is the Scion visiting the classes?" Ophelia asked. "Are you a psychic?" I asked. She chuckled. "Anyway, the Scion visiting the first year to encourage them. Remember what I told you about the Scion is the representative of the academy?" I nodded. "Well, that's about it." "Does this Scion were chosen from the most notable family or a student with the high grade?" I asked. "A student who wishes to be a Scion shall enter the election. Every student from the elementary, middle and high school chooses the Scion. Even you can run for the Scion title after the current Scion graduated." I laughed. Me, a Scion? That's funny! "I was being serious." I stopped laughing and clear my throat. Today school session finally came to an end when the last bell rung. I was in the middle of cleaning my table when I heard a commotion outside the classroom. "What's up with those students?" I asked Ophelia. "There's only one thing when that happens. She's here." She? Who's she? I didn't get to asked Ophelia when I saw Stella standing at the back door. "Hey." She went to my table and look at me thoroughly. "You look like the description given and this sketch." She showed me a paper that has my face on it. Why is my face on that paper?! "Aurora! She's in this class." Ophelia abruptly stood up and face the door. I turned to the door and saw the woman I met at lunchtime! "Oh hey. It's you." I said to that woman casually. Everyone gasped and so does Ophelia. That woman smiled and walked in my class. My classmate actually curtsy when she walked passed them. "My ..." she stopped Ophelia from saying anything. "Hello there. We meet again. Finally, I manage to find your class. I only know that you're a second year but you didn't tell me which class you're in." She chuckled. "I'm sorry. Is there anything I can help you with?" I asked Why does everyone looking at me with her eyes widen? Did I do something wrong? Oh no! Don't tell me she's one of those important rich people like the rest of the academy! What have I done! Am I in trouble? "Oh no. I'm here to give you a thank you gift." She handed me an expensive looking bag. "What's this? Why do you need to thank me for?" I asked while taking the bag. "Well, you share your delicious lunch with me. I need to thank you for that. It's not much but I did a little too much in cooking class." Hold the f*****g phone! This is her homemade food?! I don't know how to respond to that! "Why? Is it not to your liking? I'm sorry about that." This woman looking down! s**t! No, I didn't mean that! "No. Geez. Don't say that. I like it. Thank you." She looks up and smiled. "Yay!" She tilted her head and look at me with her cute face! "My name is Aurora. I should introduce myself before but I simply forgot." She smiled. "I'm Maya. Thank you for this." She smiled. "Your welcome. Well, I should go now. I have some urgent matter to do. Hope we can meet again, Maya." I nodded. "Thank you again." "Just call me Aurora." She said before turning her heels and walked out of my classroom followed by Stella. "What just happened?" Ophelia asked me. "How did you know Aurora?" She added. "Well, I was having my lunch at the flower field when I met her. She was hungry and I gave her my lunch." Ophelia started to laugh. "Do you know who she is?" Come to think of it, I only know she's a senior. "A senior? Our upperclassman?" Ophelia nodded her head. "Well, yes but she's also the Scion I told you about." I froze when I heard the word Scion. "Hold on. What? No way. Someone that modest is THE Scion?!" Ophelia laughed. "You lucky daughter of a b***h!" Did she just curse? "Not even I ever taste Aurora's cooking before and I'm the student government president!" By now, my classmate and even the student outside my classroom has been whispering about this little encounter. Oh no... what have I done to myself now?!
