Chapter 1 The exit wounds were still fresh. It had been six weeks of agony since the night he said goodbye. He was done lusting over me, and he’d left me torn, crunched, and bruised. But wasn’t that supposed to make me a better person? The night he left had escalated into a disaster. The last words shocked me so much that they had become permanently etched into the cells of my brain. Thankfully, portions of the horrendous evening were fading. I’d forgotten them.
