I waited as my mate walked out of the maze, I can't believe we were even separated. It felt unreal. I could easily see how the separation affected us shifters, as each person rushed to their mate. I noticed Damien looking a tad bit antsy.

"Is everything ok, my friend." I asked him while walking over.

He turned to me, with a tear in his eye. With quick reflexes he whips it away like it was never there before when says, "I'll be better once Luc comes out."

Most likely showing him my confused expression as to why only his brother and not his mate. Why was he crying? He never cries! So something definitely happened. Just then at the corner of my eye, I see Bethany and Luc walking out of the maze and towards the vehicles. Bethany is completely naked, so I advert my eyes out of respect for my friend and my mate. I heard Damien give a sigh of relief, if I didn't see his tear then I would have guessed he just missed his mate and brother.

"Damien, I know its your business. But I would like to know as a person that cares for your brother, what happened?" I asked him, sending out my comforting Alpha waves. Us gorillas can calm any Alpha no matter the reason.

His shoulders slouched, he took a deep breath and said, "Lauren, Beth’s sister in law, kissed Luc. Well more like force kissed him. I felt everything through the bond, the pure disgust."

Wow, now that I would not expect. Then again the way she was looking at him, I knew something was going through her head. They way she was watching Beth slider her hand down Damien, I instantly knew she was trouble. That's why I tried staying around Dennis, he's like the most innocent one of us and I would absolutely kill someone that messed with him or tried to take advantage of him.

I gripped Damien's shoulder, "Are you alright, that must have been very disturbing for you. Do you know if your mate is upset with him? As she killed Lauren?"

Shaking his head, he turned to place his deep blue eyes on mine. Still filled with many emotions, as he says "Beth screamed at Luc, but I believe she was just trying to control her wolf as she didn't want to kill Lauren."

Hmm, I wonder why she didn't just kill her. I knew she was up to something, I should have warned my friend but what can I do now? I can just make it up to my brother, I know he’s not my true brother since I’m an only child. That’s one of the reasons I’ve bonded so well with the Dawson twins, and Dennis. I felt like I had someone always there for me, if I accidentally did something that would get me into trouble. I don’t know how many times Damien saved me and Luc from being beaten.

I guess I was too in thought as I felt my mates little hands slightly over my sides and onto my abs, this girl is definitely feisty. Our first time was more like four first times. I feel like she was one of those girls that literally got away with anything, so I may have made it tougher for. She’s still young, so she can learn the importance of being grateful.

I still baby her every once in a while, especially since we just found out she was pregnant. I just can’t wait to be a father! I ran my fingers up and down her forearm before I just rested my hands there. I could almost hear her purring with excitement to be back with me, so I turned around to place my lips onto her forehead.

“It is now time for the gentleman race! First one back wins!” My mate's mom screams out, as she starts ushering us all towards this big red line that I just noticed.

Sighing under my breath, I heard my mate say “Be nice, she doesn’t get to do this often.” Chuckling I know why, is males just want to eat, f*ck, and sleep. On repeat.

“I will, princess.” I said to make her happy as I walked to a very wavy Angie.

Standing next to Luc, I can smell the s*x dripping off him. Chuckling I say “Will you even be able to run, or do you still have a small amount of stamina left?”

With a huge grin he says, “What are you jealous? And you don’t need to worry about my stamina, I have plenty.”

Shaking my head as I chuckle, I say under my breath, “Let the best man win.”

“Go!” Angie yelled!

We were off! I felt the wind in my hair, as I flew past the other males. Dennis never was a runner, or Damien. So I knew my only real opponent was Luc. Sam is a beta so it’s an easy win, just have to run past Luc. I kept slipping ahead to only get beat again. That’s how it was as we ran through this messed up maze-like track.

Jumping over f*cking logs, and mud puddles. It’s ridiculous, so I’m grateful for my shifter agility. But the poor humans are super fair behind, I don’t know his name. So I just turned back to the track just in time to dodge a huge log.

Then I heard it, “YOU GOT THIS, THEO!!! SHOW THEM WHO'S THE CHAMPION!!!” Lex yelled.

F*ck, is she cheering me on? Feeling my beast rising to make our mate happy I dug my heels in and pounced further ahead. I felt like I was in the wind, until I saw a blur of brown hair and noticed one of Lex’s brothers fly past me. Not even out of breath, and then there was Luc. Somehow he put a new hundred percent to the race. I watched as they went back and forth. Until it was the end of the line, and they were equals.

Watching as they flew to their mates, I knew what they were thinking as I was thinking the same thing for my princess. Mmm, the way she cheered me on.

Rushing to her, I picked her up and took her towards one of the tables.

I knew everything was about to get a little crazy as soon as the race was over. Felt it in my guts. So I walked and grabbed a few big buckets. Filling them with water and apples, I snuck up to mom and said, “Mom, I think all the shifters will wanna have alone time with their mates after the race. Let's start to bring in a few things the kids will wanna play with.”

She looked around at all us girls and saw the fire in their eyes, I could only imagine what’s in the guys eyes. Pure lust no doubt. Mom rushed over and started bringing a few more games into the house. Just then the race ended with Luc and Alex neck to neck.

Alex flew up the hill grabbing Sasha as he ran into the house. Luc was next with Beth up in the air. Theo rushed Lex and laid her down on a table, so at that I rushed around grabbing kids left and right. I managed to get them all in the house before I started seeing flesh. Theo and Lex were already at it, not caring about the show they were giving us. Luc and Damien carted a giggling Beth to the back yard, as Anna and Sam disappeared down the hill. Dennis was at my side now, helping me close the front door.

“That was close.” He said while wrapping his arms around my shoulders and kissing the top of my head.

He knew that I just wanted to cuddle, so we walked to the other table and made us plates of hotdogs and burgers. With some chips and dip, we started eating while he told me how much he enjoyed the race track. Said he’d love to do it again.

I kept smiling like an i***t, he is just so handsome and he makes it super easy to talk with him. Even though I feel like I’m bashful or blabbering on and on like an i***t. I watched as he ate his food, making it feel so intimate. Then he picked up a chip and raised it to my lips. With a smile, I opened my mouth to accept the food with a small giggle escaping.

He leaned over, giving me a soft kiss on the lips. For being one of the tallest, strongest shifters I know he has to be the most gentle. Like a faint teddy bear. Hmm, I wonder if he’ll let me call him that? “Dennis, is it ok if I give you a nickname?” I asked with a small smile as I looked deep into his eyes, which grew brighter as he listened to my question.

“I would love that! What do you have in mind?” He says while placing a chip into his own mouth.

“Well, I was wondering maybe if I called you my teddy bear or sugar bear. Does either of them sound ok?” I said while reaching for my own chips.

Chuckling he said, “I love them both! Whichever makes you happier, my precious”

Aww! He’s amazing! Like I didn’t think there were guys out there like this! Like how lucky am I! Hmmm, which nickname sounds the best? Maybe the nickname sugar bear, because he’s a bear that loves sweets! Perfect!! Smiling widely I say “From now on you are my sugar bear!”

As soon as the words escaped my lips, his lips found mine into a heated frenzy. Our lips became one, as his hands found their way into my long brown hair. Reaching up I slipped my arms around his neck and pulled him in closer.
