The Mating Ball

          Lyza's POV

" Hey Jake hows it going?" 

" I'm good so are you finally going to tell me what happend with your dad because I know this dicision was not just made out of the blue." I knew this moment was gonna come and I couldn't keep the secret for him any longer. Plus with everything that he is doing for me. After telling him everything the mood in the car tenses up.

" Why the f**k did you not talk to me I could have protected you!?" I notice his eyes darken even though he does not take them off the rod ahead.

" And who was gonna protect you and your family. I don't know what he is capable of doing what if he put an irreversible spill on you and your family. Even though I am a witch I know nothing about spells and potions. The only part of me I am well aware of is my wolf side and I dont know much since my mom died before she was able to teach me." My eyes tear up and I swollow a knot I have in my throat that prevents me from speaking.

" I know its just I hate feeling so useless knowing everything you went through. I really hope that at the ball you find you mate like that you will be able to stay at the Diamond moon pack. My cousin Sara is there top fighter and she trains all the women in the pack, I know she will keep you safe and also teach you self defense without having to use you wolf. Also she told me that the reason she is going to be able to get you in is because she is very close to the person that will be named as the new Alpha today. By the way I was going to ask you why can't I smell your scent today?" I look at him in confusion. Em is growling.

' That must have been that bastard you call dad he must have put something else besides the regular potion he gives you to dissapear the cuts and bruises. Probably a potion to hide your scent so our mate won't recognize us. That means he knows about the mating ball.'

'f**k what do we do now Em?'

' Don't worry everything will be fine it doesn't last that long lets just hope we can get in and nobody notices till the potion wears off.'

" Don't worry pumpkin where ten minutes away and I'm sure my cousin will know what to do."  

We make a stop to what I'm guessing is the boderline of the Diamond Pack territory and exiting the woods comes out a beautiful caramel skinned woman with a nicely portiones body she is fair for her hieght but a little shorter for what a usual Alpha's top fight are. Although based by her sculptured and perfectly toned body I'm pretty sure she can take down any ordinary with without breaking a sweat no matter what size they are and that would be in her human form her wolf must be even stronger. Jake runs towards her and gives her a bear hug that she returns to him.

" Hey cuz this is my best friend Lyza Marie her mother used to be apart of your pack years ago before Lyza was even born." she put her and up indicating Jake to stop talking.

" Wait Jake you didn't mention that her mother used to be apart of my pack. What was your mothers name?" she says looking towards me.

" My mother was Laura Velez." she looks at me witha shocked expression on her face and the looks at Jake.

" Jake you forgot to mention on esmall but very important detail that your best friend is a HYBRID! Are you bot aware of that the rogues are looking for her for who knows what reason they want her." Both Jake and I are cought by surprise withthis new information. I just hope this doesn't mean that she will not let me enter to asist to the mating ball.

" To be honest niether of us knew that I was being looked for by rogues." I say in a sencere tone.

" I'm sorry Lyza you seem like a nice person from what Jake has told me but I don't think I will be able to help you."

" Please Sara I know you don't trust me or know me well but I really need your help at least until I find my mate today I know he is in your pack my wolf senses it. If after finding him I have to leave your pack I will convince my mate to leave with me and I will be out of you and forever grateful and in dept with you. But if I go back now I am not even sure if I will wake up tomorrow." I say that last part in almost a whisper while a tear runs down my cheek.

" Okay I will help you but first you must tell me everything starting with why don't you have a scent?" Once again I have to tell my story for what hopefully is the last time for today. It's almost time for the ball to start and Jake is already saying his goodbyes. I still don't understand why he doesn't also asist the ball but well Jake has always been a wierd wolf to me. He says he will visit soon though well if I'm still in the pack.

" Bye pumpkin stay safe and text me to let me know how everything goes see you soon love you. Take care of her cuz." He hug us both gets in his car and drives off.

" So to start off make sure you stay in the crowd where it will be difficult for anyone to notice that you do not have a scent. From what you have told me you should be getting it back within the nexy two hours or so. Stay clear from your mate till you get you scent back and once you find out who your mate is come to me so I can inform you who he is and what positions he holds in the pack. In the begining of the ball I will not ne able to be withyou since I will be presented by the new Alpha as his top fighter and I must be on the stage while the present him also." We are out of the woods and walking toward a large antique mansion to whick I'm assuming is the pack house. The closer we get the louder you can hear the chattering of the people inside. After going up about five steps we are standing in front of the entrnace. I freeze for a momnet my nerves get the best of me and I feel like I am stuck in place.

"Breath Lyza as long as you do as I say everything will be fine." With a small pat in the back we walk in and as soon as we enter the living room is straight forward to my left ther is is a which I assume is leading towards the kitchen due to the delicious smell that comes from that side and to the right there is a hall that leads to an entrance the two large doors that form an arch. There are two muscular man standing in front of the doors and as soon as we approach them they open the door for us. Once we enter I realize that we are now inside the ball room. There is a beautiful crystal chandelier hanging in the center of the room, a long table of each side of the room with appatizers and nicely dressed men and women in black and white serving champagne to everyone who desires. In the middle of the room right underneath the chandalier the is a stage which im sure is where the new Alpha shall be named. everyone in the room is dressed nicely and some of the people have already found there mates its obvious due to the way they are attach and desperate to leave the room to finish the mating process. but due to respect to the Alpha they will have to wait till the new Alpha is presented. The current Alpha arrives and everyone stands silently while they listen to what he has to say.

" And with that being said I step down as Alpha and leave you with my son Alpha Xander the new Diamond Moon Pack Alpha I'm sure he will make us proud!" The crowd starts cheering and howling wildly and that is when I see him for the first time he is beyond handsome a tall goddess like sculpured man. He has dark brown wavey short hair, his skin a light tan color thick plumpy lips and for what I can see beautiful green eyes with long eye lashes. He is dress in a black suit that fits nicely enough to mark his nicely shaped biceps. It must feel heavenly to be embraced by that man.

' Mate!' Emily yells in my head.

' He can't be that is the Alpha of the pack Em'

' Why would I lie and beside do you not feel the mating pull.'

' Ithought that was just because of how attrative he is!'

      Xander's POV

" Good evening everyone I'm honnored to be taking the position as the New Alpha of this pack and I promise I will not let you down. I Xander Lorence Alpha of the Diamond Moon Pack swear to protect at all cost the pack putting it as my top priorityand will do anything and everything in my power to make sure nobody disturbs or takes away our peace as long as I shall live or till our new Alpha is born and hits the proper age to take my place." With this said I present my Beta Phil then after my Top fighter Sara. Everyone shows them there respect and with this that mating ball starts.

" So Sara Istill haven't met the person that you brought will I be able to meet her or has she already found her mate and left?"

" I'm not sure exactly where she is at the moment  but I'll make sure to  bring her to you before the night ends." I notice she is a little tense but I let it go thinking that it is probably because she is not used to all the attention unless it is on the training field. And I know to much attention can get a little overwhelming,
