Chapter one - Home
One early morning! Loud uproar sounded from outside the Duke's mansion. Everyone froze. What was happening? They thought the bodyguards had come out to know the reason they were in Chaos. Soon, they came in to report what the issue was. "Madam Duke, I think Omega Edna has caused us another problem," a guard said, reporting. "I am Edna and I cause no trouble. I think they are..." "Shut up!" Madam Duke commanded before she could finish her statement. "You have always been a problem for us," Theresa concluded. "Have them settled and promise it won't repeat itself again." Madam Duke said. "Yes ma'am!" Turning to look at Edna, she glared at her, then left. Edna then remembered something and turned to look at Theresa. Something flashed in her mind. Edna's eyes became blurred as tears threatened to pour out. When will this stop? She wondered bitterly. Going into the house, she started cleaning. It was her regular chore. The whole luxurious Duke's mansion was under her care. "Omega Edna, Madam Duke wants to see you?" a guard walked up to her and said. "Okay, I will be there in a minute." Dropping all she had, she rushed up the stairs to answer her boss. "Come in!" an angry voice sounded from inside upon knocking. "Ma'am, you called me." "Edna, I told you to clean up this room, why didn't you? You seem to be getting worse day by day, Edna. Don't you have no fear?" Edna froze. It was then she looked around the large room. The white curtains, the couch and even the bed were in a huge mess. She remembered cleaning this room early this morning immediately she woke up from her sleep. It is not like there were children in the room to do something like that. She knew just how Madam Duke was obsessed with cleanliness. Freaking out, "I'm so sorry ma'am! This was not my doing. I will clean it up right away." she said as she quickly started cleaning everything in it. "What of the food I asked you to prepare?" "Ma'am, I have long prepared it, it is set on the dining table." she responded immediately as she continued cleaning. Madam Duke walked out immediately as she hated the sight she was seeing. Omega Edna was already sweating profusely as she scrubbed the germs off of the floor. All the dirty things looked thick like they were placed there intentionally. While cleaning that morning, "Edna!!!" Madam Duke shouted furiously. Edna jumped up in shock. What had happened again? Rushing down, she ran to the dining room. PAK! Before she could answer, a hard slap had landed on her face. Edna was already on the verge of fainting as she saw the stars. Tears rolled down her cheek as she looked up, not knowing what she had done this time. "When did you become so useless, Edna? What the hell did you cook?" She asked, almost on the verge of running mad. Taking the food served on the table, she threw it at Edna's face. Screaming with pain, she stood as she tried to clean up her face. The spices in the food had already gotten into her eyes. She could not bear it anymore, so she ran to her room, then to her bathroom. Madam Duke felt for her. She stood, regretting her actions. She had overreacted, but who could blame her? Edna was making her lose her mind. How could she serve her salty food? Edna had already cleaned up her face. Sitting in her room, she wept. Soon, she heard a knock on her door. Thinking it was someone from the cleaning team, she stood up gradually and had the door opened. Before she could make way for the person to come in, the person pushed the door hard. So hard that Edna had to stagger backwards a few times before she could regain her footing. Turning to look at who it was, she froze. "Miss Theresa?" "Are you shocked?" Theresa said, glaring at her. "I'm sorry Miss, I didn't realize it was you!" "You never ever realize it. I came to check if your eyes went blind, but it seemed like I failed." Theresa said, staring daggers into her. "Miss, I have done nothing wrong to you. Why are you doing all this to me?" "It's because I hate you. I hate you badly, Edna, and I want you out of this house. The fact that my parents don't want to send you packing eats deep into me. I hate it when people mistake you for the real daughter of the family when I actually do exist. I, Theresa, am the daughter of this household and no one will take this away from me. Don't you think you are so beautiful? What and watch me disfigure this godforsaken face." Theresa then said. Edna froze. She then turned and looked in a mirror on the wall. Tears streamed down her face as she gazed at herself in the mirror. Even though she was half human, it didn't look like it. Her features looked perfect. Her eyes were blue, her skin white, her hair, despite being curled, was so long. She wanted to smile, to adore her beauty, but she didn't know how she should. Her heart felt bitter. It wasn't her fault that she was beautiful. Turning to Theresa, "I didn't create myself..." PAK! Before she could finish her statement, Theresa had already designed her face with a slap. Edna froze. Again? Theresa then walked close. Bending down to Edna who was already on the floor, she spat on her face, then stood up and left, hitting the door hard after her. Omega Edna's head was already spinning. She felt like she was about to faint. She tried to stand up but couldn't. This had always been regular, she was supposed to be used to it by now, but it seemed like she was getting weaker by the day. Her heart hurt, holding her chest like it was going to jump out, she coughed out hard.
