Chapter 02:

Laviel looks at herself in the mirror once more and smiles bitterly. She couldn't believe that she had gone so low as to cover her face with her long bangs just because of her sister's request. Shantel knew that Laviel was born a beauty and because of Shantel's insecurity, the latter told her that her beautiful face will put her in danger. As naive as she was, she trusted her sister's words and covered her face with the bangs and her dress was no exception.  Laviel tied her hair in a messy bun including the bangs and walked out of the bathroom. Her phone rang just as she was about to look for it. Her face darkened as she saw that it was her sister that called. She decided to ignore it and place the phone on the bed and walk to the closet to look for a change of clothes. Laviel's face grimaced as she saw that it was all a long skirt and jeans and an oversized shirt and long sleeve.  "I guess I need to have a change of clothes and a closet to fill." After choosing suitable clothes to wear for a while, she changes her dress and walks out to answer the neverending call. Just as she answered the call, a shout could be heard from the other line. Luckily she didn't hold the phone close to her ears as she was afraid that she would suddenly curse the caller to death. "Laviel, where are you right now?" Her sister shouted at the other end. "I'm at the dorm. Why? Did something happen?" Laviel already knows what this is all about but still pretends to be confused as to why her sister is shouting at her. "Your boyfriend is in the hospital right now. I keep calling you many times but you've answered now." She rolled her eyes when she heard what her sister told her. It is just their scheme. Tomorrow was their exam and in order for Laviel to be distracted they would get every excuse they could think of. It was either her mother or her boyfriend. It's in every exam or an important performance. "What? What happened to him? Is he alright now?" Laviel made her voice sound as if she was really concerned about him. She could already imagine the smirk that her sister is making on the other side. "He's out of danger now but the doctor said his leg is fractured, that is why he needs to be taken care of every minute, in case there is something that he needs. That's why you need to be here to watch and take care"  "Oh that's a relief, but we have an exam tomorrow, so none of us can take care of him. Can't you just call a nurse to attend to him while we are not there, sis?"  "What are you saying? You're his girlfriend and it is your obligation to care for him." Her sister said strictly. Laviel couldn't help the smirk that escaped from her lips. Again with this set up. Her sister would always tell her about the same thing over and over again. That she was his girlfriend and he needed to take care of him whenever he met with any supposed accident or any of their schemes. But at times that her mother was the one involved, her mother would fake tears and tell her boyfriend about how unfilial she is, and her boyfriend being one of their toys would also threaten her that he would break up with her. And because she was undoubtedly stupid and she was afraid that he would leave her, she would accept every conditions that they would tell her. "But sister, I can only take care of him today since it's the weekend but I can't seem to be there tomorrow. I have already been absent in the past exams so I can't take my exam tomorrow or I will fail. This is my last year in school, that's why I need to get good grades," Laviel explained. "Well, I don't care. You need to be here today and for the days to come until Raven will fully heal his leg." After saying those words, her sister hung up on her without waiting for her response. Laviel couldn't help to roll her eyes once more and put her phone on her pocket and walked out of her dorm. After locking her door, she walks to the parking lot and ride in her car and set off.  Laviel didn't directly go to the hospital, she looked for a place to eat instead. She remembered her favorite eating place just a minute away from school and drove her way there. She just entered and was immediately greeted by the woman who was serving.  "Hello, young lady. It takes you a long time to come back here. I guess it's quite busy on your side," she said smilingly to her. "Yeah, exams are coming and I need to study hard. I would like to order the usual morning breakfast." "Ok, just a minute." After she had her breakfast, she paid but still lingered for a while. She's not in a hurry by the way. After feeling satisfied with the time she wasted, she bid farewell and walked out of the store and drove to the hospital where her dramatic boyfriend is. When she arrived at the said hospital, she looked for a free space and locked her car. She walked her way to the elevator and when she was still mid way, she saw one of the people that she hated the most in her entire past life, Axel Crassus, her sister's boy toy. She suppressed the hatred that she felt and smiled at him. "Hi future brother-in-law, are you here to check on my sister who's currently accompanying my boyfriend?" Laviel asked him with a full smile. She thought she saw anger and jealousy flashed in his eyes for a moment but she wasn't sure as it disappeared as quickly as it showed. She also thought that he was just jealous that her sister is with her boyfriend. "No. I came here for personal reasons. I don't even know that she's here," he coldly said. Laviel's mouth went wide open as if she was really shocked with what she heard from him. "Really? Should I inform you from today onward about my sister's whereabouts? I can be your spy, but it also comes with a price," she said and put her hands in front of him as if asking for something. The man immediately understands it and looks at his side, signaling his assistant. When the other saw this, he handed her a check and stepped back. "You can put whatever amount that you need without worrying," Axel said and walked past her. Laviel smiled as if she just won big time. Monitoring her sister isn't really a big thing, it was actually beneficial for her. She can break these two people that she considers a villain in her life. With this in mind she keeps the check in her phone case and hopp her way to the elevator with a smile on her face.
