In the corner of the hospital's parking lot, a man with a dangerous aura was seated in the back seat of the car.
"Why was she there?"
"Her sister's boyfriend was caught in an accident and hurt his legs, that is why she is there in place of her sister --"
"Not her, the other one."
Levine, his assistant, was stunned for a moment before he came to his senses. He didn't understand why his boss was more concerned with Laviel than his girlfriend, Shantel. But he still told him the details he asked for.
"Oh, as my boss said, her boyfriend was in an accident and hurt his leg. She went to the hospital to watch and take care of him. But I found out that it was only an act so that Laviel can't take her exam. And it was on every exam. It seems that they would find an excuse for Laviel not to take her exam or atleast get distracted."
Axel clenched his fist and tightened his jaw when he heard what Levine said.
"Make it real. And make sure she takes her exam without worrying."
"Yes, boss."
As the conversation comes to an end, Levine starts the engine and sets off.
Laviel arrived at the room where Raven was and she didn't directly open the door. She pushed the door slowly and peaked at the small opening that she created. She also gets her phone from her pocket and captures the scene in front of her. It was her sister feeding her boyfriend. She feels disappointed as this doesn't prove anything significant about their dirty secrets.
She slowly closed the door and knocked. When she opened the door, she saw that her sister was already in the seat and looking at her phone while her boyfriend was the one independently feeding himself. She almost applauded them for the job well done, luckily she quickly controlled herself not to do so.
"What took you so long to come here?" Her jerk of a boyfriend asked her as soon as she set her foot in the room.
It was new to them since Laviel would put Raven as her priority. If it was in the past, she would have arrived a minute before the news reached her ears. But it wasn't like in the past anymore. She was not the girl who was head over heels over him.
"I have my breakfast before coming here. I can't just come to her with an empty stomach and complain how hungry I am. It would be troublesome and embarrassing." Laviel said as if it was nothing.
Their mouths went wide open and watched her in shock. It was the first time that they heard her talk back to them that way whenever Raven asked her a question. She would always answer them in a nice way to avoid any conflict.
"What's with your attitude, Laviel? You're not like this before." Raven asked her in a confused tone.
She just shrugged it off and sat in the chair that was in the corner. She looked at her boyfriend and noticed that her sister put something on his lips that would make him look pale. She looked down and couldn't help the smirk in her lips this time. She couldn't help but laugh at her stupidity in her past life. She couldn't believe that she just believed whatever she saw right before her eyes without even carefully looking at it.
"Are you okay now? Does your leg still hurt?" She makes her voice sound concerned.
"No, I needed you to take care of me for the days to come. By the way, why are you sitting in there? You're far from me. How can you serve me some fruits?" Her boyfriend asked her.
"My sister is sitting beside you and there's only one chair in this room. I don't want to be jealous of my own sister."
Her sister was shocked with what she said and immediately stood up from her chair.
"You could've just said it before, and now you're acting like I'm the bad guy here." Her sister rolled her eyes.
Before she could even reply she could even talk back, her sister's phone rang and her face darkened when she opened her message. Shantel shoves her phone to her sister and Laviel watches it with curiosity. It was her and Axel at the lobby earlier.
"So this is the reason why it took you so long to come here? You dare flirt with my boyfriend?" Shantel said angrily.
There's actually nothing suspicious about the photo but the fact that they were cheating themselves, makes them anxious.
"What are you saying sister? I just saw my future brother-in-law in the lobby earlier and it wouldn't be so nice to just walk past him so I greeted him respectfully."
Seeing that Laviel was not flustered about the issue made her more furious. But what Laviel said also makes sense, that's why she let the matter go.
"Ok. Since that's the case, I will turn a blind eye this time. I have to go, you take care of him until he recovers. I still need to study for the exam tomorrow."
After Shantel said that, she walked out of there as fast as the wind, so Laviel didn't have a chance to reply. Seeing her sister walk away, she turned her attention to Raven and examined what part of him makes her fall head over heels with him. And she saw nothing. Maybe it's his act that catches her heart. But now that she knows about all their schemes, she feels like vomiting whenever she sees him.
She shook her head and focused her attention on her phone not minding the man on the bed who's looking at her intently. She opens her WeChat and looks for Axel's account to add him. Just a few seconds after she sent the request, the other accepted it immediately. She sent the photo with glee and included a message.
"Hi, future brother-in-law. Didn't know if my sister has also fed you some fruits but she sweetly feeds my boyfriend some of it."
Satisfied with it, she decided to lay on the couch and without knowing, she already fell asleep.
