15: IN PERFECT SYNC

1993 Words
In the middle of the fight, Lemar quickly pulled Jennie closer to him and gave the incoming rogue a very powerful headbutt before his mate touch its skin causing its life to be sucked away. “That’s wicked,” Lemar commented amusingly about the power that Jennie performed there. “Shut up.” Jennie rolled her eyes and Lemar his mate gave a double-high kick on the two rogues before Lemar grabbed their necks and slammed to the ground. They were easily knocked out. But there are plenty of rogues coming their way. Lemar sighed and went deeper into his hunter mode. “Babe, can you produce silver?” he asked while dancing against the reckless rogues charging at them. “I can but it might hurt you.” She worried since Lemar wasn’t a human anymore like he used to be. “Then put it on any weapon that I could use.” He told her and Jennie understood what he meant. “Going to be a hunter tonight?” she guessed causing Lemar to smirk as he backflip and made sure that his feet perfectly hit the face of the rogue wolf coming at him. “Well, you don’t want me to shift so, yeah.” He said and with one powerful punch, the wolf rogue was gone. It easily died after stumbling like a ball and being hit by Jennie’s lightning magic. “Alright, here’s my dagger.” Jennie handed to her mate her dual dagger that she created through magical stones and her enchantment. “Use it well.” As soon as he got hold of it, Lemar immediately felt the power that was residing in the daggers. He could feel that it was passing throughout his entire body as it gave an acknowledgment as its new master by glowing in bloody red. “Surely, I miss this.” Lemar grinned slyly as he felt alive once again. Jennie Sage felt the sudden change around her mate’s aura causing her to use her earthly magic and some rogues to be immobilized on their spot. Then in a split second, they were all smoothly sliced into parts by Lemar. The couple kept going and protected the area as they moved in perfect sync. Jennie gave Lemar magical support while all he did was be a frontline like he used to be when they both began sensing something odd around the area. It was puzzling but they need to be careful. “Sage, do me a favor and hide somewhere.” Lemar lowly whispered to his mate as soon as they stood side by side with each other. “What are you planning?” Jennie wondered what he was thinking. “Navigate for me.” he calmly replied and then explained what was bothering him. “Something is coming and I need to know what it is which only you can tell me from up there.” Jennie was quiet for a few seconds before sighing. “Okay, if you say so.” “Now, let’s see how can you deal with this, rogues,” Lemar muttered as soon as Jennie vanished beside him and went on hiding somewhere up in the trees. Jennie Sage might had no idea what Lemar was up to but she had a hunch that it had something to do with his previous life as a hunter. She immediately climbed a pine tree without being noticed and concentrated on seeing the entire perimeter of the pack. She could widely sense everything that was happening around the pack and it wasn’t the only area that had been disturbed. Everyone in the pack was preoccupied and only a few defended where they were. “On your three, four rogue heading to the northern part of the pack but the patrollers were already ready for their arrival.” Jennie lowly whispered while she was also thinking those words, causing Lemar to hear them. “But on eight, two rogues ready for blood.” Lemar smirked upon hearing it and with the accurate navigation that his mate had given him, he perfectly managed to plant what he needed to do. As soon as the two rogues head his way, the first one Lemar targeted was the one behind and he killed it with his speed along with the magical dagger. Then quickly moved behind the rogue who sensed him but he was not there anymore, instead, he was on its side. Without emotion, he beheaded it as if it were nothing. “Next.” Lemar suddenly mind-linked to his mate and went cloaking himself in the shadow of the woods. Jennie was truly impressed by what Lemar was capable of even without shifting into his lycan or wolf side. ‘On two, four rogues, and five on left.’ Upon hearing that navigation, Lemar quickly moved like an assassin and killed all the rogues on both sides without fear but something made his hands quiver. After killing those rogues around him, he quickly blended into the shadow and cloaked his presence even more. Some was indeed coming and it was heading to their area. "Sage, hide your presence. There’s a fallen rogue among them." Lemar mind-linked to his mate. 'Alright, I’ll notify them about it,' Jennie responded and was about to open her mind to her siblings, Lemar interjected. "Wait, don't let them deal with it." Lemar quickly told her. 'But why?' she was skeptical. "It's an eater fallen. It was releasing toxins and acids that are poisonous to everyone. You’ll notice to the plants that it passed by." Lemar informed his mate about what he knew about the fallen rogue who suddenly joined the ruckus. On Jennie's side, she went silent and looked around the woods where the fallen rogue had just appeared. She knew then that Lemar was right causing her to click her tongue in annoyance again. “That’s f****d up. I have to think of something before it went near the pack.” She wanted to do something against it but she had never encountered a fallen rogue with that kind of ability. It was her first time dealing with one. ‘Yeah, and hope that there’s only one in the entire pack’s perimeter.’ She heard Lemar's comment making her groan again. “We have to hurry then.” She bit her thumb while thinking carefully as the mind-link was connected to her siblings and heard it. ‘I’ll distract it as you think of something how to deal with it. Then we can check the rest of the pack’s perimeter.’ he instructed while he prepared himself to distract the fallen. “Be careful.” Jennie wished. ‘I’ve dealt with it before. It's a piece of cake but it will be much faster if you could help out.’ he smirked and confidently began moving around the area to plant his usual hunter strings. “Don’t worry I’m on it. I’ll ask my siblings if they were dealing with the same thing on the other side of the perimeter.” She sighed and with a few hand gestures was doing secretly up in the trees. "Guys, are you dealing with any fallen rogue on your side?" ‘Sissy, there’s no such fallen rogue over the western side of the pack.’ ‘Same goes around here at the eastern and northern side of the pack.’ Jennie heard some response from her siblings and that was when she realized the security at the southern part of the pack. “Of course, they will go to the least protected area of the pack.” ‘Can you two handle it?’ “Don't worry about us. I’m a witch and his a fallen hunter and wolf chosen by the moon, so don’t expect too much,” Jennie smirked as she replied sarcastically causing both of her siblings to chuckle. ‘Right.’ ‘Take care.’ As Jennie finished her magical hand gestures, she began activating the pack protection barrier that would erase anyone's existence who wasn’t invited to step inside or threatened the pack's safety. Then she got off the tree and started dealing with the rest of the rogues around while Lemar dealt with the fallen rogue. "Let's do some magic." Jennie's eyes turned white and glowed brightly as swang her fingertips from the sky downwards. It caused a tiny yet very powerful lightning blot that struck every rogue who wasn't welcome in the pack. Lemar didn’t have any hard time dealing with the fallen rogue since he faced one before. He used the same pattern from immobilizing it through his strings and making it bleed on its own before shooting it over its head with the use of a magical dagger. “Wow, that’s an impressive and powerful dagger.” Lemar was amazed since the fallen suddenly dissolved when being hit by the magical dagger of Jennie. “MOVE!” Jennie suddenly shouted at her mate and Lemar quickly backflipped then Jennie slammed three rogues on the leftover acid and toxin from the dead fallen rogue. The three rogues died instantly causing Lemar to clap his hands. He was fascinated but quickly gave a fly kick to the rogue that was about to hit his mate. “Nobody hurts what’s mine.” “I’m not yours…” Jennie rolled her eyes and hit another rogue with her magic and it died. ‘...yet…’ “I heard that.” He teased since he heard the last word that Jennie tried to hide from him. “What?” she played it cool even though she knew what he was referring to. “I love you, Sage.” he teased even though he knew that it was too early but that his feelings around Jennie were. Jennie blushed but hid it by being grumpy. “So annoying like your scent.” “Then let’s have a dare, the first person whoever defeats ten rogues, the loser will do what the winners dare for a week.” Lemar decided to play something since there was another incoming rogues heading their way. “Are you cool with it?” Jennie didn’t answer but she killed one rogue already. “One,” Lemar smirked and began competing with his mate and killed three. “That’s three for me.” “Dammit, that’s unfair,” Jennie whined as she killed another two rogues. But Lemar managed to kill six with the help of his hunter speed and wolf strength. “What’s unfair when you’re a witch?” he winked at him. Jennie grins. “Thanks for giving me a clue.” She started using magic causing Lemar to curse. “Fuck.” He even felt disappointed in himself. “Why did I say that and now she’ll overpass me.” As they competed with each other, both of them still moved in perfect sync and realized that they could team up even more in the future. They kept counting and without realizing they both ended up facing each other while pointing blades against magical hands. Both were panting before they looked around since they all managed to defeat the waves on the southern area all by themselves. “That’s impressive, don’t you think?” Lemar winked at her and Jennie smiled while shaking her head. “But what should we do to the bodies?” “You didn’t realize that the pack’s southern area was a graveyard?” she asked as she swung her hands and magically made the dead bodies be eaten by the earthly ground. Lemar was surprised to see how the earth ate the dead bodies scattered around the area before asking. “You mean the entire perimeter of this area was a graveyard?” “Obviously yes. You’ve seen what happened in the area, right?” Jennie scoffed as she started walking back to the cabin and Lemar nodded before she added something. “That’s the reason why I’m handling this area.”
