“I am not. That’s why I’m not gonna use my magic against you.” She said and her magic calmed down as it vanished.
“Oh really?” he was trying to read her moves but could not point out what she was trying to do against him.
“Really. Instead, I’ll give you this…” She grinned and stepped even closer to give her mate a very deep and passionate kiss which lemar gladly returned. But when he returned it, Jennie quickly made Lemar surrender after she flipped him upside down with heavy gravity falling over his body. He remained pinned.
“Damn. I did not see that coming.” Lemar was amused that Jennie used her feminine side to seduce and win the fight. “Cunning but clever. Yet, don’t use that unless you’re out of options.”
“Of course, I don’t want my fallen wolf to go onto his rampage, don’t we?” she was smirking before she winked at him and released him from the ground.
“I’m glad that you know.” He sighed and used a Chinese get-up for him to easily stand up beside her.
“But…” Jennie halted her flirty remarks and pulled away from her mate since she started sneezing a couple of times. “Great, I’m still not used to your scent.”
“Mark me then, it might do the trick.” He wiggled his eyebrows teasingly.
“Soon but not now.” She sighed since she knew that it might help her lessen her irritation around Lemar’s scent.
“Oh c’mon, babe.” He whined like a kid and it clicked the annoyance in her.
“Want to sleep on the couch?” She dared and Lemar shivered.
“Nope.” he quickly responded.
Jennie snaked her arms around Lemar and dragged him back inside the mansion. “Good, let’s go grab something to eat, I’m starving after that match.”
As they were having a nice meal with everyone in the family, Jennie put Lemar’s favorite baked salmon on his plate. Lemar genuinely smiled at her while everyone at the table was carefully observing them which made Jennie stop eating. Lemar quickly grabbed her hand and she sighed.
“Be grateful he’s here beside me or else…” Jennie sternly told them but Lemar squeezed her hand causing her to calm down.
“Sage. Enough. You’re releasing them already.” Lemar stopped his mate as soon as he noticed that dark energy slipping out from Jennie’s body before offering his ice cream. “Just eat ice vanilla mint cream it might help your temper to cool down even for just a bit.
Jennie munched it without a doubt while ignoring her mother and siblings snickering until Mitchel bluntly spoke to them. “When’s the wedding?”
4:00 am
As another day in a new week at the mansion, Lemar was up too early and was already doing his morning routine when he was still a hunter. He was doing his morning exercise from running, and lifting weights before he began his combat training. Yet, his mind was too preoccupied with the last conversation he had with them.
‘There’s none.’
‘You’re not marrying, Lemar?’
‘No.’
‘Why? You’re mates and arranged partner already, so why not continue with the wedding?’
‘I won’t marry him because of you.’
‘Jennie, I’m not…’
‘Dad, you always insisted on marrying me with someone even before Lemar came into my life, so, no.’
‘So you don’t want to marry me…’
‘Lemar, that’s not…’
‘It's okay…I will understand whatever it is.’
‘Lemar…’
‘Excuse me, I need to breathe.’
‘LEMAR!’
‘See what you’ve done to your mate.’
‘BECAUSE YOU KEPT SPEAKING ABOUT MY MARRIAGE REGARDLESS IF IT IS LEMAR OR ANOTHER PERSON YOU THINK WOULD BE GOOD FOR ME WHEN IT ISN’T! YOU’RE MAKING THINGS BETWEEN US DIFFICULT! SO, STOP! ITS OUR RELATIONSHIP NOT YOURS!’
Those were the words that kept running into Lemar’s mind while he was doing his usual drill. He was expressing it until he almost hit Dianne the spear he was using if she did not manage to block it.
“Woah, that was a close hit,” Dianne commented as Lemar put down his spear and let her proceed to enter the training ground.
“Nice block though.” Lemar praised with a slight smile.
“Why early, Sir Lemar?” she wondered while she was putting her things in her locker.
“This is my usual before things happened to my life.” he simply answered while swinging the spear.
“Can I know them?” she was curious but Lemar just waved it off.
“No need for you to know.” he coldly replied and Dianne shivered before she heard an invitation. “Wanna train?”
“Yes, please.” Dianne didn’t waste it and agreed with eagerness in her tone which Lemar smiled at.
“Then after your warm-ups, start doing these basic drills: run for ten laps around here then another ten with combat stunts. Anything will do just do them in between your runs.” Lemar started by giving a training drill to Dianne who listens attentively.
“So, twenty laps in all.” She concluded and Lemar nodded.
“Don’t forget to keep your guard up. Be alert since you won’t know when something bad will happen.” He added a reminder.
“Noted, Sir.” Dianne saluted and Lemar nodded.
“You start now.” He let her start the drill while he went on his practice using different weapons that were in the training area.
As Dianne managed to do her drills, a sudden surprise attack went in between her laps which she managed to dodge. She was confused as she thought it was just a bluff from Lemar since it only happened once and went back on her lap. But when she was nearly done with her laps, she almost got tripped, pushed, and lastly, hit by some blades that Lemar threw at her during her laps.
“SIR LEMAR!” She whined and almost slowed down from her lap.
“Keep going you’re almost done.” Lemar chuckled and ushered her to finish what she had started.
“But…” she tried to reason out but Lemar sternly looked at her.
“Remember my reminders before you start your laps.” He reminded her what he told her earlier before she started her drill.
“Never let my guard down,” Dianne answered with a sigh.
“Precisely. So, go on.” He pushed her to continue her lap and she did.
But like what Lemar did earlier, he began giving Dianne different types of approaches that she managed to block, dodge, and attempt to counter. To Lemar’s liking, he smirked and gave Dianne a one-on-one spar that she did not realize at all.
“Good,” Lemar commented as Dianne managed to block Lemar’s attempts. “That’s good. Again.”
Dianne did not hesitate and went into her serious mode as she focused on facing Lemar’s attacks head-on. She did not waver and gave her mentor a serious counter to every attempt that was given to her. She began using her surroundings and showed her flexibility and agility that she hadn’t shown to anyone. Lemar liked what he was seeing around Dianne causing him to push a little bit more and adding power to every attack that he was giving her.
“That’s heavy.” Dianne groaned when she suddenly felt the heaviness of Lemar’s attack.
“How you will deal with that? Think faster but not be obvious about it.” Lemar coached her again.
Dianne complied as she moved faster and she quickly grabbed anything that she could to make Lemar stop from moving. But Lemar was a clever hunter and easily anticipated what Dianne thought to do. He quickly grabbed her wrist and pushed himself upward before using full force to his body down to the ground behind Dianne. Then he made sure that he flipped Dianne to knock her down.
“ARGH! f**k!” Dianne groaned upon receiving a very hard flip causing her to cough blood a little. “That’s harsh.”
“I have to or you won’t learn.” Lemar chuckled. “So, what did you learn from it?”
“Basic must strengthened since it will be useful even in critical situations,” Dianne answered as she sat on the ground.
“Good. Anything else?” He nodded and wondered what else she had learned from their one-on-one training.
“I didn’t know that I have that strength in me.” She chuckled over what she discovered to herself.
“Well, nobody nudging it out from you. Welhima can’t help you because her hands were full of those brats.” he chuckled and told her the reason for not knowing about it.
“But how did you know that I had it in me?” she wondered.
“I didn’t. I just need to push you to be better for yourself since they were bullying you.” he honestly replied of what he noticed.
“Oh…” she only reacted before giggling to herself.
“Enhance your basic knowledge and when you feel like you master it, you still don’t.” He sternly told her.
“Huh, that’s confusing.” but Dianne got confused.
“What I’m trying to say is even if you master the basics, you will still gonna face another basic idea that you have to master again. But never forget what you feel, or built along the process, it will help when the time needs for it.” He simply explained as basic as he could for her to understand easily.
“I’ll take note of that.” Dianne smiled in assurance.
“Okay, I will leave you to do the same drill again and just add something that Welhima or you usually do whenever you’re in training.” He patted her head. “Ask for help in case you need to see your accomplishment.”
“I will, Sir Lemar, thank you for training me.” Dianne quickly got up and thanked him.
“Don’t thank me yet. You still had a lot to face before you could fully thank me.” Lemar started walking away from the training ground while waving his hand.
“Still thank you.” She still thanked him.
“Alright, I go back inside. Take care.” He smiled after he put back all the weapons that he used in their training before leaving Dianne alone in the training area.
Lemar walked to the hall from the training area, Welhima clapped her hand from what Lemar had taught Dianne there. But Lemar just nodded at her and kept walking but he stopped for a second when Welhima reminded him about something disturbing his thoughts that he didn’t want to deal with for a while.
“Still not talking about it to her, did you?” Welhima sighed and asked him directly.
“I’m not sure how to talk about it with her.” Lemar coldly replied as if he did not want to talk about it.
“You know she was not like our father when it comes to the matter of her heart, Lemar.” She told Lemar how Jennie thinks whenever it has something to do with her feelings. “Just asked why she said that. She always had a reason for saying or doing things for the sake of her love.”
“She made it sound selfish.” He sighed with heartache that he didn’t want to feel anymore.
“Maybe it does but if you don’t know the reason behind it then why not reject her in the first place?” Welhima went blunt on him causing Lemar to growl.
