All of them went back to watching how Lemar unfolded things against the bullies in the pack. They might be young wolves but to Lemar, they were just pups that still needed to be s*****d to learn things in hard way. Lemar’s impression of the air around him suddenly dropped to zero while cracking his knuckles.
“Welhima, you said not to shift right?” he coldly asked.
“Yeah,” Welhima answered before wondering. “What about it?”
“I’ll break their bones from limb to limb till they can’t move anymore.” He coldly replied before stating his reason for doing it. “Their behavior is very unpleasant for any leaders during in and out of the training session.”
“Oh please, as if you can do it.” the overly confident wolf chuckled which made his gang do the same thing.
Welhima sighed at that stupid comment before answering Lemar. “Hm, very well then. I’ll tell Jennie to prepare a ward for them.”
“No need, she's watching already.” He coldly said and with one deep breath things drastically turned grim. "And I'm pissed."
“Alright then, just don’t kill them.” She let Lemar do what he needed to do to teach those youngsters about a thing or two.
But as Lemar turned grim, there was a sudden crumbling on the earthly ground and the air swirled around the training area sending a shivering warning of an incoming danger. Everyone on the sidelines shivered but Lemar’s opponents were oblivious of it. He was not the only one who was disappointed at their ignorance but Welhima since she was their mentor.
“Welhima, you’re being soft on them.” Lemar coldly informed Welhima who was grinning but at the same time frightened of what Lemar was about to do. “They can’t tell the danger coming in their way.”
“Well, I don’t want to keep breaking their bones but...” Welhima defended herself with humor in her tone. “...maybe that’s why they’re like that.”
“But not that I’m here.” He flatly said as he carefully studied the youngsters who were warming up.
“As if you can do more than just speaking to our head trainer.” the overly confident wolf chuckled which was followed by his gang.
“If you don’t know what fear is,” He coldly told them what they didn’t know outside the protection of the pack. “...then you're good as dead.”
“What did you say?” one of them growled in annoyance.
Lemar started to walk carefully around clockwise which made the youngsters move at the same time. But he was not just moving in a circle he was getting used to the area where he was going to move around.
“Outside the pack’s perimeter, grim dead bodies will welcome you and I say to your head trainer, you’re not ready to get out of the pack’s protection.” He bluntly told them which hit a thing or two in them causing them to growl even more.
“You know, you speak too much. Why don’t you just fight us and see what you can do.” another one among the confident wolves spoke directly to Lemar.
“Alright, be ready because if you’re not…” Lemar suddenly vanished on his spot and made the last wolf who spoke rudely slam on the ground with Lemar’s bare hand. “...just sleep.”
The people around them were stunned as two of Lemar's opponents were already knocked out, leaving three more to go. The remaining gang growled in frustration as they started charging towards Lemar. However, Lemar was unmatched as his movements were different from what they had seen earlier. His movements were unpredictable and faster than before. Each attempt the gang made was useless as he either blocked them with the same form or just simply dodged them. After avoiding their attacks, he quickly followed up with a counter, making them stumble on the ground.
“THIS IS ENOUGH!” The overly confident wolf roared and shifted into his wolf form which technically broke the challenge but Welhima knew that it won’t listen.
“Lemar, they're done but deal with it since it won’t listen to anyone any longer,” Welhima told Lemar who was just quiet and observing the wolf alongside the two youngsters who were still in their human form.
“Interesting tandem,” Lemar whispered before he glanced at Dianne. “Watch carefully, Dianne, and learn how to deal with them. Remember what I told you and use it against them but make sure to make things count.”
With a nod from Dianne, Lemar began taking a few steps backward and carefully watched his opponents. But since they were hot-tempered wolves, Lemar kept dodging and blocking yet, each attempt they were giving him went in vain. They could not hit him even though they were already ganging up against him.
“LET US HIT YOU!” they roared in frustration which was a total opposite of the calm but empty expression that Lemar was having on their fight.
Lemar marked what he could use against them and took down the first youngster in human form with one kick on its chin. Then went to the next one but before he could almost do the same thing, a shifted wolf interfered and tried to attack him. Lemar managed to anticipate it and grabbed its collar with incredible speed. He then threw the shifted wolf to the wall, knocked out.
“LET’S END THIS!” The only remaining youngster roared and transformed into its wolf form which made Lemar sigh.
“Much better then.” Lemar agreed and then added some warning. “Make sure to keep up or else, you’ll be like them.”
The youngster roared and charged at Lemar head-on. But with composure and a clenched fist, Lemar went to his ground zero. This surprised everyone as if Lemar was born with it. The Groban family and Jennie Sage were amazed.
“I told you, you will regret what you said about Jennie’s mate.” Zamarah teasingly chuckled.
“Whatever but he reminded me of you when we met,” Mitchel told his wife while they were still watching their fight.
“I know that’s why I told you, not to underestimate him.” She grinned and he sighed in defeat.
Jennie Sage heard what her parents were talking about. “Seriously, we’re still here. We can hear you clearly.”
“Intended to.” Zamarah teased her daughter. “So, aren’t you proud?”
“Maybe or maybe not.” She might not show how proud she was of her mate but she rather keep it to herself and leave it be since she decided to waltz to the training area. “Let’s make things heat up even more,”
Lemar sensed Jennie's presence in the area, but he put that aside for the time being as he was dealing with an arrogant youngster. He moved quickly and delivered a powerful kick to the wolf, breaking its leg. He then punched it hard in the gut, causing some of its ribs to break before slamming it to the ground, knocking out the youngster and causing him to shift back into his human form.
“Keep in mind to never underestimate your opponent whether they are weak or strong…” Lemar indeed broke their bones and made sure they were sent to the pack’s hospital. “...you’ll never know when they're going to bite you back.”
As some of the witnesses with them took young shifters to the hospital, Lemar was still on the ground. Welhima and Dianne were about to approach him but he quickly blocked Jennie’s attempt when she suddenly appeared in front of him.
“Hm, interesting.” Jennie hummed in amusement since he blocked her attempt.
“Fired up from what you saw?” Lemar asked with the same tone.
“I am.” She grinned and began giving Lemar quick blows that her mate quickly responded.
“Wanna try?” he asked even though they were already started on doing it.
“Pleasure.” She winked at him and made their blows powerful.
It was so powerful to the point it was echoing and releasing a strong vibration making the birds fly away. And each impact of their contact created dust sent to the side causing the others who were watching to cough.
“So, Sir Lemar was just holding himself back?” Dianne took notice since the waves from their blows were making the entire training walls to be shaken up even more.
“Yeah. That’s his real power…” Welhima was amazed since their league was different like they were going to kill each other even though they were mates. “That’s why I don’t want to cross fists with him.”
Jennie Sage was infusing her punches and kicks with magic, aiming to deliver powerful blows to Lemar. However, Lemar was not intimidated by her magic. Having dealt with fallen witches before, he was well-versed in handling hardcore opponents like Jennie. Thus, his prior experience helped him to navigate around Jennie's spells.
“Not bad for a fallen hunter.” Jennie complemented her mate while they were still exchanging blow after blow.
“Fallen wolf, babe.” Lemar corrected his mate as he moved faster and quickly gave Jennie some combos causing her magic to slow down on releasing.
“Right fallen wolf but…” she said while meeting every combo that Lemar was giving her.
“But what?” he wondered.
“WHO TOLD YOU TO CALL ME BABE?!” with a slight opening from Lemar’s combo attacks, Jennie took the opportunity to release another wave of magic that Lemar didn’t see coming.
“Yikes! She’s pissed.” Welhima reacted as they watched Lemar drastically being thrown to the other side of the wall before being pulled back and slammed on the other side again.
“He turned like a doll,” Dianne added that Lemar could not fight back to the intense magical counter that Jennie was giving him.
Lemar was being beaten up by Jennie, who was slamming him against the walls and the ground. Despite the intense damage he was receiving, he was being careful. In fact, during the struggle, he managed to secretly grab something and place it at each point where Jennie was throwing him.
“Fuck.” Lemar coughed blood. “But it's worthy.”
“What?” Jennie heard it and when she was about to slam him again, she could not. “What the f**k did you do?”
“I’ve dealt with every type of monster before, my love. Have you forgotten my title as a hunter?” Lemar coughed one more blood but he was tied around and Jennie could not easily slam him anymore because something was binding him on the ground already.
“I can alter it.” Jennie tried to alter her magic but with a slight loosened grip from Jennie’s magic, he managed to quickly appear in front of his mate.
“But still not fast enough.” Lemar grinned and stole a kiss from Jennie’s lips causing her to blush so red.
“Eh…you think you won against me?” Jennie controlled herself and turned the table to fall in her favor. “Yes, you managed to steal a kiss from my lips but since you’re this close, you’re already cornered.”
“And have you ever thought that even though I’m fully cornered, I still managed to break free from them?” Lemar challenged his mate with his taunting but flirting tone. “Honey babe, don’t underestimate me.”
