But Lemar forgot that Jennie could easily read his mind like an open book especially now that they had a bond connection through the moon without being fully accepting or mated to each other.
‘What would you do now, Lemar?’ Jennie wondered through her mind as she started adding pressure on the gravity that had fallen on Lemar’s wolf.
She just kept putting pressure against her mate to make sure Lemar’s intelligence would come out and be used in their training.
‘Think.’ Lemar chanted to his mind while enduring the gravity all over his wolf body.
Lemar growled until the bloody smoke steaming out with darkness causing Jennie to sneeze since it was mixing up again with his scent. She clicked her tongue in annoyance and put more pressure before adding different sizes of spikes around. Lemar sensed it and when those spikes were being shot against him, he managed to transform back into his human form and quickly dodged them.
‘He managed to break from it.’ Jennie was amused but she added another test against Lemar. ‘Let’s see how long you deal with them…’
“WHAT THE f**k!” Lemar exclaimed when tons of spikes were shot at him but it was not done. There were plenty of them and it was not stopping them from attempting to kill him. “SAGE, THIS IS TOO MUCH!”
“Nothing is too much on the battlefield and I know you knew that,” Jennie told him and Lemar gritted his teeth because he knew that she was right. He’s been there and there’s no room for any complaints.
“Then tell me what do you want me to learn from this one?” Lemar has been dodging every shot that Jennie was magically giving him. Some of them managed to give him a small cut when he tried to block them.
Jennie smiled. “Simple, learn how to fight magical things as well get used to your shifting.”
“But why do I feel that there is something else?” he groaned since he couldn’t get away from whatever Jennie was shooting at him.
“Well, if you feel it like that then maybe there’s something else in this training that only you should know about.” She told him in a humming tone causing Lemar to glare at him. Jennie just shrugged her shoulders.
“Then so be it.” Lemar didn’t have any choice but to face them and quickly transformed into his wolf back again.
Lemar began using his speed to quickly get away from the spikes heading his way. But there were some that he was forced to transform back into his human to use his flexibility and deal with the spears and arrows that suddenly came his way. Jennie was indeed fascinated by how fast Lemar managed to shift back and forth in a short time. He just learned it a few hours ago and now, he was impressed.
“But to be an alpha, you shouldn’t be just strong and powerful,” Jennie muttered to herself when she witnessed Lemar’s agility and flexibility. “You also need to be clever alpha.”
Then something made Lemar immediately move backward since there was something suddenly changed around the energy flowing around the garden. Lemar took a deep breath as he recalled himself being a hunter. He let himself be sensitive to her surroundings before making his move. He charged at Jennie but she was already prepared for it and gave Lemar a taste of her power.
“What the…” Lemar suddenly stopped moving and his veins started to show up against his skin as he turned red. “...what’s happening?...” he was starting to choke as he could hear his heart rate begin to increase. He was panicking about what unknown that was happening to him. “...why I can’t breathe?”
“You see, you’re still not using your full potential as a star elite hunter that you're supposed to be.” Jennie released what she gave Lemar causing him to fall on his ground weak while gasping for air that he just lost there.
“What…what did you do there?” he coughed as he wondered what Jennie did to him.
“That’s my frightening power. That I could intentionally but it goes along with my emotions whenever I’m stressed, angry, or getting weak.” Jennie half smiled and put her hands above Lemar to give back the life essence that she took before removing her coat and giving it to him. “I sucked life essence to any living things.”
“You what? Suck life forces of any living things?” Lemar could not believe it but that explains what suddenly happened to him.
“Don’t be surprised by what I can do.” She smiled and gently stroked his hair. “I won’t be a white enchantress for nothing.”
They stared at each other for some time when Lemar had to ruin it. “You’re being sweet now.”
“And it's a nice way to ruin it.” Jennie sighed before she crunched her nose sneezed again and groaned. “Seriously, how can you have that scent that irritates my nose this much.”
“Well, maybe you're too in love with me that’s why?” there was no ill intention as it came out naturally from Lemar.
Jennie’s face began to fire up and to hide them, she just suddenly punched Lemar straight into his face causing his nose to bleed. He began groaning while holding his nose before looking at his mate.
“What did I do?” he asked innocently.
“Nothing.” She just turned her heels and headed back inside the cabin while her cheeks were still red.
Lemar smirked because he finally knew how to tease his mate. “She’s cute when she was being shy.”
Ever since that training with each other, Jennie kept assisting him to do his meditation to channel the energy flows that Lemar was having inside of him. He needed it to be synchronized all the time so, he could shift easily back and forth like what he did on their training. But something else was added into their lives under one roof…
“SAGE! STOP IT!” Lemar shouted as he was panting while using the island counter space as a shield from Jennie’s wrath.
“STOP IT? YOU STARTED IT!” Jennie threw some plates and knives to Lemar who managed to dodge them while there were some knives were being returned to his mate.
Both of their eyes went wide since Jennie was almost hit in the face. Jennie glared at him and Lemar gulped since it was his reflexes. “I-I didn’t mean to…sorry…”
“Sorry?” Jennie scoffed as dark energy began to swirl around him and it was making Lemar flinched. “YOU ALMOST HIT ME WITH KNIVES!”
“I SAID I’M SORRY…SAGE…” Lemar dodged and defended himself to whatever Jennie was throwing at him. But with one false move from him, Lemar ended up being thrown out of the cabin toward the garden. “Argh…I’ve got a violent mate this time…”
Jennie heard it and her dark energy began to be mixed up with hot-blood-red energy as she shouted back at him. “WHAT DID YOU SAY?!”
“Nothing,” Lemar responded but Jennie was indeed in her temper and started shooting her mate with a fireball.
Lemar had no choice but to dodge them and took the opportunity to train himself to shift back and forth again. But Jennie was starting to suck life around her plants which Lemar quickly noticed. He instantly rushed to her side but she could not get too close because Jennie was protected with so much heat. She was burning but she was not.
“What’s going on with her now?” Lemar lowly whispered to himself as he didn’t know what was happening to her.
But even though he doesn’t understand what Jennie was facing, he didn’t give up and still tried to get close to his mate before she sucks everything that she’s been taking care of around the garden. Lemar used her strength to break the radiating heat that was protecting his mate and endure them. He kept pressing through until he managed to grab her shoulder. Without hesitation or thinking too much of what to do, he just pulled Jennie and kissed her forehead.
“Please, calm down.” Lemar might be low whispering it but it doesn’t mean that Jennie could not hear them. “You’re ruining your garden.”
Jennie was stunned by the sudden gesture that Lemar made for her to snap from her anger. “Lemar, I…”
“It's okay, we’re okay.” He assured her.
Jennie looked deeply into her mate but instead of Lemar’s scent ruining their sudden moment again, an irked voice from her teasing siblings came echoing in their background. “So, when is the wedding?”
Hearing the teasing voice from Welhima, they immediately jumped away from each other trying to hide their blushing face since they were caught so close to each other. Jennie took a deep breath before facing her siblings with a stern look that made them snicker before heading back into the cabin.
Jennie sighed. “Sorry, I lost my temper.”
“You always lose your temper around me.” Lemar chuckled while scratching the back of his nape. He was shy and embarrassed at the same time.
“You annoyed me.” She slightly chucked but she still apologized to him. “But this time it's my fault for not controlling it and almost ruining this place. So thanks for calming me down.”
“We’re mates after all.” He assured her.
“Lemar, about that…” she was skeptical and didn’t know how to explain to her mate about their real status - their real relationship. “...I’m not sure if I’m…you know ready for it…”
“Oh…okay…” he understood what she was trying to say and hoped that he wouldn’t get rejected. “But I hope you won’t reject me.”
“I hope so.” She sadly smiled and went inside ahead of him.
Lemar sadly sighed and smiled a little as he watched his mate walk toward her siblings. “I hope not to lose you like I lost her.”
But before Lemar could even go inside the cabin as well, there was a sudden alarm that echoed around the entire pack’s perimeter. He began to hear some growling and running footsteps heading to the border of the pack. He quickly went to his mate.
“Stay here.” Lemar firmly told Jennie as he quickly grabbed certain pants that had an incantation for him to easily shift back and forth without getting fully nude.
“No, stay here.” Jennie countered as Lemar put those pants in front of them before she stated her reason. “The pack didn’t know you were here.”
But Lemar was already in his zone. His eyes were a deep shade of blood as his skin turned dark and his nails turned to claws. “Sorry, babe, but I can’t.”
Before Jennie could even respond to it, her forehead received an assuring kiss, and then watched her mate dash off the cabin. She sighed because she could feel the fallen wolf in him was already ready to kick somebody.
“Let’s go before they hurt your lover boy.” Mikyle teased her sister.
“Shut up.” She just rolled her eyes and teleported them where Lemar was headed.
