10: THEIR TRAINING

1947 Words
As she waited for her mate to finish trying on his new pair of clothing, Jennie suddenly sensed someone was heading to her cabin in a rush. She took one sniff and she knew already it was one of their sentinels then she exhaled when a knock happened. “My lady, Gamma Argent asked for your presence at the hospital.” he sent the message. “You may go now. I’ll be right there.” Jennie nodded and dismissed the sentinel. Jennie turned around as she sensed Lemar standing and watching her carefully. “What?” “Busy?” he wanted to make sure even though it was already obvious. “Always,” she answered as she swung her hand causing her clothes to change magically into a simple be still looking smart before asking. “Anyway, will you be alright here?” “Yeah, I could train more.” Lemar nodded. “Then you better be prepared because I will give you an intense one.” She smirked. “Interesting.” Lemar chuckled. “I’ll wait for it.” “Then I’m off but you look great in them.” Jennie winked before she vanished magically in front of Lemar. He looked at himself in the mirror before smirking at how good-looking he was. “Charismatic handsome again, Lemar.” He wore black pants and a turtle neck and his hair was a mess. “But I better keep this for later since I’m still not fully in control of my shifting.” he started removing them and when he was fully naked again, he suddenly shifted back into his wolf form. “Damn, good thing I removed it before it happened. I better train.” On the other hand, Jennie Sage appeared at the hall of the hospital and quickly headed to where Dr. Argent was. But before she could even meet him, Gamma Catalina saw her. “You call for me.” Jennie quickly asked before the gamma could even greet her. Catalina nodded, “Yes, my lady. Come with me please.” and politely showed the way to her lady. Before the gamma could even open the door for the lady, Jennie could sense the hunters that they’d saved were already awake. But as soon as the gamma opened the door, the alpha was there alongside her sister. Welhima glanced at her before mouthing, “Dad was pissed.” Jennie could see the obvious. She could tell that the alpha could not make them speak of what the wounded hunters knew and they were controlling themselves from killing the alpha of the pack who saved them. She sighed and let them know her presence. “They won’t speak to you if you’re letting your temper react like that,” Jennie spoke with firmness and authority as a Luna would have. Mitchel could not believe that he heard that tone from her when it was supposed to be only her wife. “What are you trying to say? I’m the alpha here and they need to obey.” “You might be the alpha of your pack but you’re not their chief which explains why they were not answering you. So, if I were you, calm down.” She coldly told her father and went to the hunters’ bed to check their wounds. “Alright, what I should do to make them speak?” Mitchel calmed himself down and asked. “Nothing.” Jennie simply answered. “Jennie Sage,” he warned as he was trying to control his alpha side. Jennie ignored and focused on the patient’s status. “I’m glad that your wounds were already healing.” “Thank you. Your ointment was helping.” one of the wounded hunters answered making the alpha surprised. “Well, it’s a natural medicine.” Jennie chuckled. “Since your wounds weren’t that deep anymore, you’re not going to use this anymore.” “I see but can we have it when we travel?” Another hunter asked. “Why travel when you can stay here?” She asked them. The hunters looked skeptical to what they’d heard. “But…” “Don’t worry about my husband since I’m already allowing all of you to stay here.” The Luna of the pack, Zamarah spoke to them this time. “DON’T RULE OVER ME, I’M THE ALPHA OF THIS PACK AND YOU’RE JUST MY LUNA!” Mitchel roared but the Luna was not cowering. “Just a Luna…then, don’t come near me.” Zamarah’s eyes glowed a deep shade of yellow as she reminded her husband of who she would always be. “Remember, Alpha, I’m an alpha rogue. I can move freely with or without a mate.” “Don’t worry about them, they’re just like that since they both have alpha blood. You know what I mean.” Jennie smiled at them and informed them that it was the usual banter of their parents against each other. “We understand and to answer your question, we don’t know much about what exactly started the fall of our guild.” One hunter answered that the alpha had been dying to know the answer until Jennie came. “All we know is that somebody betrayed us and the reason is still unknown to the rest of us.” Another one continued while they listened. “But how did you know about somebody’s betrayal?” Welhima asked carefully. “Rumors and vibe around the guild.” Another one answered before holding the converter closer to her chest. “It became really heavy and suffocating which only happened whenever danger was coming to the guild and it does, it fall.” Another hunter continued with a clench on her hands. “Luna, are you sure about letting us stay here?” the calm hunter asked the Luna directly. “Yes, because I know some wolves already can’t leave your side.” Zamarah smiled and winked at them. Mitchel was dumbfounded since he didn’t realize that the nurse and some guards around their beds were their mates. “Oh, you noticed. Thank you, Luna.” The same calm hunter chuckled before smiling at the alpha. “And don’t worry alpha, sometimes ladies have their own power that still intimidates yet amazes us.” “Since everything settles with them, I have to head back to my cabin to make more medicine in case something happens.” Jennie liked the vibe around the room, so she excused herself. “Thank you, Lady Jennie.” the hunters thanked her and she left them alone. As she was alone in the hall, she closed her eyes before wondering. ‘Should I accept our bond like them? Like how the moon brought us together?’ But then, she sneezed twice in a row again as she recalled the scent of her mate. “ARGH! DEFINITELY NOT!” As Lemar was doing his training from shifting back and forth from being a human to his wolf, Jennie suddenly appeared behind him. Lemar jumped like a scared car and shifted into his wolf while growling. “YOU SCARED THE s**t OUT OF ME!” Lemar was growling and complaining to his mate but Jennie just sternly looked at him. He flinched. “W-what?” Jennie was about to answer but again, his scent kicked in making her groan and annoyed again. “Nothing. Let’s train.” Lemar was about to say something when Jennie emitted danger and suddenly appeared before him. He was easily being flipped even though he was in his full form. He growled and tried to defend himself but it seemed like he wasn’t used to his wolf form body while doing combat. “DAMMIT!” He growled as he was being thrown out of the garden of the cabin. Jennie was using her speed, strength, and magical spear to attack and deal with Lemar’s wolf. She easily hit Lemar around his feet causing him to growl even more until Jennie sensed the bloody smoke began to swirl around him. She smirked and both of them moved faster than any typical wolf or witch doing their combat training. “Think, Lemar.” Jennie began to be a serious trainer before asking him. “How can you deal with a magical person like me outside of here?” Lemar flew to the other side of the garden groaning. “How should I know?!” “I said think, stupid wolf.” Jennie suddenly appeared before him and used her spear to flip him up to the sky. She jumped and towered him before he hit him directly to his head causing him to fall drastically back on the ground. “I’m going to kill you if you don’t do anything else to defend or fight for your life.” Lemar groaned as he got up from the dug earthly ground in the garden. ‘She’s right. I’m still the hunter that obtained the star elite ranking in three weeks.’ He went on charging at Jennie without hesitation but she could still see whatever attempt that he was planning. Lemar always fell down causing him to groan until he recalled something from his past. ‘Never lost the reason why you fight or why you even became a hunter.’ Lemar recalled his training as a beginner hunter. He was always defeated. ‘Never forget how does it felt.’ But he always comes back up and still gives his best to fight back against any strong opponent even if it costs his life. ‘Don’t you ever hesitate or deny your gut feelings, we’re hunters. We’re born to have higher sensitivity than any human being. Don’t you forget that kind of gift from the moon or else you lose.’ He remembered what the hunter’s chief told him when they had their sparring before. He almost died back then but he learned something and became a promising hunter. From his recollection, Lemar got up and didn’t hesitate to attack Jennie head-to-head. Jennie felt the sudden change in Lemar’s aura, it was aligned and she felt proud. “Shift,” Jennie told him and Lemar did before giving his mate very intensified close hand-to-hand combat. “Whenever you see an opportunity to shift back and forth against your opponent do it. Just whenever you feel like doing it.” Lemar gave Jennie some hard counter since even in human form, she could feel the power of Lemar’s punches and kicks. He even managed to break the spear that she was using which nobody could do it. Only he does it and she was proud that someone can keep up with her. Lemar sent Jennie back inside the cabin when his kick landed on her chest. “I thought witches were weak in combat.” “Well, I’m not like the other witch.” Jennie countered but she started to be irritated when she sneezed more than twice than what she expected. “f**k YOUR SCENT!” "Just get used to it, baby." Lemar began teasing his mate causing Jennie to flush but her temper got the best out of her and gave him tons of magical counters. Lemar quickly jumped into the tree and transformed into his wolf as he charged at his mate. But Jennie Sage’s hands were glowing and with one smooth move, she managed to grab Lemar before he was being slammed on the ground with gravity. He growled as he tried to get up from the pressure that his mate was giving him. ‘She’s something…even better than anyone I've dealt with...’ Lemar thought carefully. ‘I have to do something against it.’
