9: MOON’S MARK

1943 Words
“Then give us your money and your car.” One of the three rogues that came to them demanded while pointing a locked gun. “We’re not that stupid.” Welhima acted even more. Rogues chuckled as they stepped closer. Jennie pulled her arm. “Sis, let them have it.” Rogues chuckled. “Better to agree with your sister if you want to live.” another one taunted while cracking its knuckles. “WHY YOU!” Welhima shouted but Jennie threw them the keys and their almost empty wallets. Before Welhima snapped at them, Jennie quickly grabbed their shopping bags and dragged her sister away from them. Not caring if it was embarrassing since those rogues were laughing as they ran away from them. But what they didn’t know, Jennie had already done something to make things believable. “Why give them what they asked?” Welhima asked as they sprinted fast in a different direction of the parking space. “You know that’s a stupid act.” “I know but I’m not that stupid like they are.” She replied while smiling slyly catching Welhima’s attention. “Meaning?” she wondered as she slowed down. “Have you forgotten that was not our car?” Jennie reminded her sister who suddenly stopped from what she just heard. She could not believe that she had forgotten what their car looked like. “Plus, the key that I threw was non-existent, and the wallets were even real but they contained only two bucks,” Welhima smirked as they started walking at a normal pace. “Should I still ask how did you do it?” “Neh, you already know who I am, so, no need.” She chuckled as they opened their real car. Welhima chuckled while shaking her head. ‘You sly witch.’ “I know.” She giggled as they entered their car and headed back home. But while they were on the way back to the mansion, Jennie Sage felt something was changing around the woods as they passed by. It might be the usual sight but the vibe around was getting eerie and dark so she closed her eyes and concentrated. She wanted to know what made the woods eerie and some flashing bloody image flashed to her mind. “Blood?” Jennie whispered as she was lost in her deep thoughts when she saw a trail of blood splattered around a certain spot of the woods. “Dead bodies? Rogues…” She almost felt like throwing up due to how gruesome they were but she kept looking around as if she was looking something. But the more she looked around, plenty of bloody dead bodies scattered around. Not until she saw a figure of a man ripping another body as if it was nothing and there were it hits her nostrils. Jennie started sneezing out of the blue snapping her from her deep thoughts. “Argh, that’s irritating.” Welhima giggling. “Seriously, what’s gotten into you? Hayfever?” “Nope. I’m fine. Something just irritates my nose.” She responded that she did not let her sister know the real reason why she sneezed. She looked over the window thinking, ‘Why Lemar was covered with their blood and ripping them apart?’ Meanwhile, Lemar was groaning and painting since he was being trained by Mikyle on how to shift back and forth. He already understood how it works easily but even though he was a fast learner, he was still slow. It was frustrating him to the point it was draining him. “You know the basics now.” Mikyle might be impressed by how quickly he understands his training but he still finds it funny whenever Lemar shows his frustration. “Just remember them and you’re good to go.” he reminded him. “Just don’t get too overwhelmed with your emotion or be stressed it will only drive your wolf out.” “Okay, thanks for this.” Lemar sighed but nodded in understanding. “No problem. You’re the mate of our sister.” He waved it off and excused himself before the pack’s alpha noticed something odd around them. “Anyway, I’ve got to go before our father finds our movements strange.” “Noted, man.” Lemar waved his hand and Mikyle left. Being alone in the cabin, Lemar took a couple of minutes of rest before heading back on his training. He first recalled what Mikyle taught him before applying them when he suddenly shifted into his wolf form again. He groaned in annoyance since he still could not control it yet. ‘If you’re in your wolf form and want to go back to human form, you need to fully calm yourself. Then, clearly picture yourself as a human.’ Lemar took a deep, calmed himself then the next thing he did was imagine himself being a human. He recalled himself being a hunter and then his body began to c***k until he shifted back into his human form. He was happy that he managed to shift back and then tried the other way around. ‘If you want to shift into your wolf form, it could activated whenever emotion rises to the top or stress level is overflowing then you will shift. But there’s another way to shift by doing the same thing like instead of thinking that you’re a human, think of yourself as a wolf instead.’ “I’m a wolf…” Lemar whispered as he kept his mind thinking that he was a wolf. “An alpha wolf.” But it was not happening but Lemar could feel the pain and started groaning. He was trying to shift but nothing. It was frustrating him making him sit on the ground while panting but when he decided to do it again something began to flick on his mind. His mind began on recalling the loss that he went through even the downfall of the hunter guild where he came from. “You are going to pay for what you’ve done.” Lemar started to grit his teeth and dark smoke began steaming out from his body. The next thing that happened to Lemar’s body was bone cracking and muscles started to stretch out making him groan in pain. But something made him jolted when a familiar scent passed around the woods. So, instead of fully shifting into his wolf form, he shifted differently from a lycan. His skin turned dark and his face might be distorted like a forming wolf face, but he still had his wolfy ears, tail, and angry paws since its claws were showing off. As he shifted like that, he suddenly sprinted off from the cabin’s perimeter and he was no longer protected by Jennie’s magical barrier. “I’m gonna get you,” Lemar growled and with his over-the-top speed, he immediately killed the rogue that suddenly passed the woods. He did not just stop there since there were some rogues who tried to fight him but he already committed a crime before he fully shifted into his wolf. Lemar recalled when he killed those rogues as he wandered around the woods after waking up differently. He ripped them off like their life didn’t matter until there was no more life around him. He was growling. But something made him stop from covering himself with blood when Jennie’s scent hit his nose and her gently but worried voice echoed around him. “Lemar.” “Sage…” Lemar growled lowly and he looked over his claws. It was covered with blood causing him to step back in fear. Fear of hurting Jennie. Jennie saw it and snapped her fingertips to prevent him from running away. “Don’t try running away from me, mate.” “But…I might hurt you like what I did to them,” he stated his worry and Jennie smiled gently making Lemar’s heart feel soft and guilty. “Hurt me as much as you want because I know them already before you realize it.” She dared him while smirking. “Come, I’ve got something for you before we proceed with your training.” “You’re…” he was trying to come up with something but nothing was coming out of his mouth. “Save it or I’ll ki-” Jennie was about to say something when she started sneezing again twice in a row before groaning in annoyance. “ARGH! f**k THAT SCENT OF YOURS!” As soon as they appeared back in the cabin, Lemar was calmed and just a snap of a finger, he shifted back into his human form. Again, Jennie overreacted and magically threw whatever she could around the garden’s cabin. Lemar dodged them all and decided to shift back into his wolf full form. “So, you can shift back easily.” Jennie took notice as she stopped throwing things around him. “I still can’t,” Lemar replied while his wolf ears were down. “It just did since I knew what made you act like that.” “Then can you shift back into your human now?” she wanted to see his progress in a short time. Lemar took a couple of breaths before he shifted back into his human form. But there was something different from the way he shifted in front of his mate. There was a dark bloody smoke around him as he shifted into his human form. Out of the blue, Jennie went closer and caressed Lemar’s human face. They both looked at each other but when Jennie’s eyes landed on his chest, she began tracing the mark that he had. Lemar moaned. “S-Sage…” Jennie smiled because she knew well that they were mates since she was feeling it too. She just knew how to control them and she just traced them until he asked her. “Is this want our bond can do to each other?” “We don’t have any marks since we’re not fully mated. Plus, this is a moon’s mark that bound you to me.” Jennie briefly explained what she knew when she touched Lemar’s mark on his chest. “I’m not sure what the moon plans for us to be bound like this.” “Sage…” Lemar was skeptical over something. “Hm? What is it?” She noticed and gently asked while still staring at the mark. “You’re not irritated or even annoyed that I am naked in front of you?” he asked, even though it might ruined the sweet mood around them. Jennie Sage didn’t utter any word to Lemar and just smiled at him. But when she stepped forward, Lemar shivered and the next thing he knew, he was upside down on the grassy ground. Then with a sly smile on his mate’s face, Jennie pointed his temple before he shivered. “That answers your question.” Jennie turned her heels and went inside the cabin. “Go and try the clothes that I bought for you.” Lemar sat before sighing. “Nice arse but she had this stubborn and short-temper side.” He gets up from the earthly ground and heads inside as well. “I think I’m digging it as long it’s her.” As Lemar rushed inside the cabin, Jennie Sage sat on the couch as she closed her eyes, and covered her face with her hands. “Damn, that’s hot.” She was blushing but it was followed by another sneeze. “Argh, I better get used to how he affects my nose like this.”
