I didn’t follow her because I wanted to hurt anyone.
Or at least that was the lie I told myself as I drove a safe distance behind Sera’s car. I made sure there was always at least three cars between us. And when she made a left turn, I kept going straight. I knew exactly where she was going. I drove around the block, and just as suspected, she had parked in the parking lot of the motel. I kept telling myself that what I was doing wasn’t wrong. That I was possibly protecting her from Adrian. Or whatever. I knew it was all lies. Lies that I kept repeating so that I didn’t feel as weird about it as I honestly did. My obsession with Sera had started long before I had seen her kiss Adrian.
