As he walked down the stairs towards the dinning room Cirus felt oddly excited, he shook it off as quickly as it appeared, he needed to have a clear head. He entered the dining room and let out a sigh as he realised the scent he was craving wasn’t there. He quickly nodded towards Alpha Dean and he took his seat at the head of the table opposite him.
“Well isn’t this civilised,” chuckled Alpha Dean.
Cirus could only smile stiffly in response, his body tensing as he sensed her come into the room. He couldn’t look, if he looked then maybe Aidan would be right and that couldn’t happen.
“Ah, there she is,” said Dean “Longfang pack, may I introduce my beautiful daughter, Ivy. Ivy this is Alpha Cirus of the Longfang pack.”
Cirus had no choice he had to meet her eye.
He looked round and his breath was gone, to say she was stunning was an understatement. She had pale freckled skin with a faint blush, deep blue eyes that seemed to have a million stories in them and deep red hair. He quickly realised he was staring and got up out of his seat to greet her properly.
“Lovely to meet to you, Ivy,” Cirus said quickly reaching out his hand to shake her’s politely. It was a bit over kill but he had done it before he could talk himself out of it.
She blushed as he spoke but reach out to meet his hand. As their fingers touched sparks of electricity flew through them both and they locked eyes. Cirus dropped his hand quickly and returned to his seat. He looked over at Aidan who was smirking smugly into his drink.
“Now that we are all acquainted, shall we eat,” announced Dean.
Some of the pack wolves brought out covered dishes and placed them on the table. The food smelt amazing and Cirus realised he hadn’t eaten since dinner last night because he was so wrapped up in all the chaos. His stomach grumbled but he wasn’t sure he could eat. His eyes kept darting towards her. Occasionally, their eyes would meet and she would blush.
The rest of the packs tucked in to the feast Alpha Dean had provided. Cirus picked at his food while his mind raced. He had little doubt that Ivy was his mate but he had no idea what to do next. How would this work, could it work? He wished he could talk to his mum, she would be able to guide him.
The dinner continue, polite conversation was had between packs, as the meal drew to a close. Cirus was starting to dread the conversation he was going to have with Dean next and now he was distracted. He desperately wanted to be able to talk to Ivy instead but he couldn’t until he had talked to Alpha Dean. As the dinner drew to a close and members of both packs started to leave the table Cirus started to get restless. He was about to say something when Ivy spoke.
“ Father, could I be excused? I would like to go for an after dinner stroll in the garden before it gets too dark,” She asked politely.
Her father nodded quickly and then said “Make sure you take your guard with you.”
“I was wondering if Alpha Cirus might be able to accompany me for a short time, I understand you both have business to discuss but I would very much like to hear how their pack differs from our.”
Dean looked at her for a while and then his eyes shifted to Cirus, He thought for a minuet before he spoke, “I suppose that would be okay but make sure your guard is close by and don’t take too long.”
Cirus felt almost giddy, he quickly stood and gave Ivy his arm. He tried to show as little emotion as possible in front of Alpha Dean but his inside felt like they might burst as they stepped out into the cool, crisp evening air.
