Ruby’s POV Training ends in pieces. The wolves drift out of the yard in small groups, dirt smeared on their arms, laughing too loudly, some limping. Cindy stands by the tower with three elders, her chin up, hands moving in sharp, sure gestures. Tyler stays on the edge, holding his notes, Duke at his side. His face looks tense, eyes already on whatever comes next. Cindy is the first to step away. She gives Tyler’s arm a quick touch, says something I can’t hear, and then heads toward the main house. I step forward as soon as she’s out of range. “Tyler,” I call. He glances up, face softening for a breath. “Ruby, you should be resting.” I stop close, catching the smell of dust, sweat, and a trace of old blood. “We need to talk,” I say. “Now.” He nods once to Duke. “Go check with Lily,”
