Tyler’s POV I think Ruby is going to drag me straight to the yard. We limp past the start of her trap line, my weight leaning on her shoulders and her arm tight around my waist. Each step sends a sharp pain through my ribs. The trees thin out, and we come to a small hollow beside a mossy rock. She stops. I almost crash into her. “Keep going,” I say through gritted teeth. “Lily will—” “No,” she says. “If we keep going like this, you’ll fall on your face before we reach her.” She shifts and gently moves my arm off her shoulders. Cold air hits my exposed side. Her outer shirt hangs crooked on my hips, held by a knot at my waist.
