Chapter 18 - The Alpha We Need

1243 Words
POV - Jake Axel had been in bed all day since he returned smelling of Felix. He was f*****g this up. If he was going to keep doing this s**t he was going to get weak. He had been crying in the last week or so and feeling guilty. But he hadn't made any action untill last night. I can't believe he was so careless to go there. But I was glad she hadn't worked it out yet. Felix was still just living her life and didn't know this fool was pining for something that should never have happened. "the goddess does not make mistakes" is what most people say. But knowing my dad having had his weakness for my mother who was so weak she died in child birth and then this. she had made at least two. "He's not moving on" I said to Ramone. I explained everything and he had just listened it was making me nervous. "At 330pm a witch will meet you in the lobby of the school. You just have to give Axel whatever they bring to you. I will discuss options with the witch but I have heard there is something this can numb the feeling the bond brings and I will see if I can get anything to numb him directly as he has already gone to far with this I am not sure hurting the bond alone will work. Whatever the witch says upon arrival follow those instructions no questions asked. This will likely be something that needs to be taken daily or something similar to keep him numb. You will have to figure it out. It was your job to stop this and it is your job to end it now that you have let it go this far." He ordered hanging up the line. Perfect. I am sure he knows what he is doing that this will lead to the desired outcome but I couldn't help but be angry. I had done all I could he is Axels father he should have done more. I am only a Beta and he expected me to control this situation. Why would his son listen to me. I controlled my sister. I made sure she didn't want to talk this through with him. It was his son that snuck out and his son who was defiant. I walked the halls knowing Axel would not move from his bed wasting the half hour I had to wait. I went into the games room and watched as the Betas and their Alphas played pool or video games. They made great teams and it was clear they had each other's backs. But Axel never did that for me. He was always distracted and even now he was in bed mourning his decisions. No more. I sat there seething waiting and at 3:25 I made my way to the lobby. A male witch came in. I recognized him from pack meetings he had an ongoing contract with Ramone. He wall tall and greasy. He had bot skin and a large nose. His beedy black eyes shot right through me as he smiled showing his yellowish teeth. Could Ramone not have picked someone easier to be around. He looked as though he had never showered his hair brown, greasy and lifeless and his aura haunted me. This was maybe the least subtle choice in witch he could have gone for and made me nervous. "Beta Jake. Give this to the Alpha every day with dinner please. just a drop of each. The containers have a dropper within the lid. Make sure it's both. I will be back each month on your day off to give you more." his voice was like nails on a chalk board much to high for him to have any commanding presence... I nodded turning away and storing both viles in my pocket. I headed back for the room without a word to the man witch. I didn't even know his name and I didn't care to. I hope when Axel is leader he makes better choices. maybe a more attractive witch. Someone I can watch. I loved to watch his sister. Watching her t*ts bounce when she laughed or even Dee she was attractive. I had wanted to f**k either of them for a long time but his sister had a mate. Dee and I would f**k when no one was around and she was a good submissive b***h. She would serve Axel well and I am sure I could keep doing what I am doing once she is Luna. It wouldn't have much effect on me since I didn't want to be with her romantically. It is f****d up. But she is an easy lay. I stopped by the kitchen to pick up leftovers from lunch and added a drop of each onto the food. He hadn't eaten all day so an early dinner wouldn't be the worst idea. I entered the room holding two ham sandwiches for him first offering him the one with the potions on them "you haven't eaten all day Axel. you need your strength" he nodded and ate the first sandwich quickly. perfect. he nodded and signaled for the second which he also ate. I thought it would be best if I kept and eye on him and made sure I hadn't just poisoned my future Alpha but he seemed fine. As time wore on he sat up and his sad look dissipated into nothing. He was fine. it was now just after 5pm and he just seemed all good. "How are you feeling Axel?" i asked as he slowly turned to look at me. "Fine, much better even. I am not sure what came over me before but..." he looked to be on thought and he snapped to look at me "but I feel much more focused on what matters." i smiled and nodded relief washing over me. He seemed like an entirely different person. It was wonderful. Now I didn't need to worry about being embarrassed at training. "I have been in bed far to long worrying about her. I really don't know what came over me but we need to focus. The pack is what matters. Lets go for a run. get some training in. Thank you for being there for me I obviously just needed some time. If like you said this is what she wants I shouldn't be here worrying over it." he looked even possibly happy. Like his emotions relating to my sister had dried up. Three years would be much easier like this. I hope it lasts or else this could get harder. "Perfect I just need to step out for a second then I will join you on the run" I said smiling back. I found somewhere quiet up the hall and called Ramone "Alpha it worked" "Brilliant work beta. Now use this to our advantage. While he is in this state most of his emotions will be fairly neutral other than anger and some things along those lines. I need you to sway him into seeing that girl as something to be hated." he said I could hear his smile through the phone "Yes Alpha" I said hanging up the line. When I got back to the room Axel was ready for our run and just waiting for me. "Okay let's go Alpha" and we left. This was going well.
