“Come on Melissa, stop whining right now! I’ve had enough with you; it’s just a small wound that will heal with time.” The well-dressed lady glares at the five-year-old girl in annoyance causing the little girl’s eyes to tear up and her lips to start to quiver in sadness.

“But mommy, it... is hurwing vewy much I wanna go to the hospital.” The girl tried to put her hand out of the woman's grip to avoid feeling pain but. ended up feeling more pain.

“How many times do I have to tell you to speak properly? You are going to school now, don’t you know now how to speak correctly?!” Melissa’s mother scolded her. She continued with an aching, unmistakable head in her voice “And for the last time... We. Are. Not. Going. To. The. Hospital, got that? I already wiped the blood and your arm looks fine to me.”

The little girl mumbles a quick sorry, afraid that her mother would ground and lock her in the darkroom.

Apparently, Miss Fernando could not tolerate missing the party of Mr. & Mrs. Alexopoulos.

She was hell-bent on going to the party even if her daughter wasn’t really feeling well. She was lucky that she had made acquaintance with Mr. & Mrs. Alexopoulos.

They were known as one of the richest families in the state and they own the Alexopoulos International Holdings Corporation.

The couple were throwing a grand birthday party for their only son who will turn nine. Rosemary wanted to be present at the party because she made it her mission to gain Mr. Alexopoulos’s approval so that he may accept the deal.

And if that happens, she would be the luckiest lady; she will be able to expand her business and live a more luxurious and lavish life than she is now.

She will gain the fame that she always wanted, there’d be posters of her face posted everywhere and that would satisfy her. Miss Fernando knew she was a greedy lady; she didn’t really care about her child like a mother should.

But she believes that everyone should care only about themselves, they should try hard for their goals, aims and. She wore her best outfit to impress the Alexopouloss and then proceeded to her destination while dragging her little daughter along with her.

At Alexopoulos’s Residence, Melissa watched with big eyes as they made it to the entrance. Her mother gave their invitations to the guards for confirmation.

The security is tight here... Rosemary Fernando thought of looking at a bunch of well-built men wearing similar suits, dark shades and guns attached to their pants.

“You see, little daughter, we will also have as many guards and a mansion just like this one soon. Are you listening to me, Melissa?”

“Yes mommy, it is very beautiful here.” Melissa’s eyes wandered everywhere and settled on the big fountain in the middle Miss Fernando hummed and smiled happily.

They went towards the big double wooden door, Melissa’s eyes widened taking in all the details, the decorations were done in a very elegant way, red and royal blue balloons and streamers decorated the hall, and there were waiters gliding between the guests trying to be at everyone’s beck and call.

The theme was red and blue. There were children running here and there in Disney Costumes.

The entertainment services included magic shows, digital caricatures, dancers and so on. Melissa saw a couple approaching them, the woman was attractive and had a nice smile, on the contrary, the man looked quite serious and stiff.

“Good evening Mr. & Mrs. Alexopoulos.” Miss Fernando said with a rather big smile trying to look confident. “Good evening Miss Fernando, we are so happy that you came, and you even brought your daughter, she is so adorable!”

“What’s your name little one?” Mrs. Alexopoulos asks sweetly, gently pinching Melissa’s rosy and chubby cheeks.

“My nwame is Melissa ma’am,” Melissa replied quickly looking at her mother intensely. “What a pretty name!” For the first time, she heard the stiff-looking man speak.

She nodded her head eagerly. “Anyways, where is your little prince, Mr. Alexopoulos? My daughter and I would like to meet him and gift him”

“There he is-” Mr. Alexopoulos looked in the direction where his son is at, “-the one wearing a superman suit,” he answered looking proud Melissa followed his gaze and saw the most beautiful being she ever saw.

She understood that he was the birthday boy; he had pitch dark hair and striking blue eyes. He was near the rose garden and he observed her.

Rosemary approached the birthday boy dangling Melissa at her side. Upon nearing him, Rosemary greets the boy sweetly and Melissa hands him the gift murmuring a happy birthday.

“Alright I’m going to meet some important people; you stay here and play with the kids' Melissa.” With that, Rosemary Fernando turned and went away leaving her daughter on her own.

“Your pwarty is nice and so is your supwer-man swuit.” The little girl said in a cute way and looked at the boy under her lashes.

The boy looked at her and smiled. “Thank you, I hope you enjoy the party! Come, I’ll introduce you to my friends,” The boy says cheerfully, leading her down the way to his friends.

Melissa indeed enjoyed the party. She made lots of friends, the boy was very nice to her, he showed her his room, and introduced her to his relatives.

Soon it was time to cut the cake, the boy fed his parents and searched for Melissa.

He took one piece and shyly fed Melissa and then they played several games. Sadly the party was nearing its end and unfortunately, Melissa had to get home.

When Miss Rosemary Fernando and her daughter were at the door, Melissa saw the birthday boy racing towards her. On arriving he said breathlessly.“Hey, you didn’t tell your name-” the boy was cut in the middle of the sentence.

“Oh yeah sowy but you did not tell yours e-ith-er,” Melissa replied impatiently.

“Aries.”, “Melissa,” both said at the same time.

With that, our story's main characters met and both smiled at each other.
