"Damn!" Annie says and I turn to her with my eyebrows furrowed. "What?" I say as I take a sip. "You look hot." Sadie says with a big smile. I giggle at them as they both eye me up and down. "Stop it." I tell them as I turn away from them. "What? It's true. You look hot and confident. You seem stronger after what happened with him." She tells me with a hesitant look not sure of my reaction. I turn to her with a soft smile. "I am. I went to boxing and self-defense classes. After him, men started to scare me. So I made myself stronger. I feel much better now." I tell her giving her a hug. I look at the time. "Sadie's gonna be late." I tell her putting their and my dishes in the sink." "Oh s**t!" Annie says and they both run out the door leaving me to chuckle and close the door behind them. Later on, Rio texted me to meet him and I start to think about everything he's done. Annie spilled the beans about everything. She could never lie to me because she knows I'll never judge her, unlike Beth who acts as if she's perfect and judges every move we make. Besides I'm very observant and it's easy to tell when someone is lying to me. I just have to look at their tells. The little things they do when they're nervous. I sigh. Poor Dean, I can't believe he got shot. Later on, I meet Rio at the park he texted me to meet him at. He was sitting on a bench waiting and I join him. "Hello, Mami. How are you?" He asks me and gives me a small smile and I give one back. "I'm doing well. It's a lovely day." I tell him as I close my eyes with a smile feeling the wind go over my skin. "It is." He tells me as he puts his hand on my knee. I open my eyes and look at him to see him looking around and glaring at a few men who glance at me. I scoff with a roll of my eyes. "Wankers." I say and he turns to me with his eyebrows furrowed. "What." He says with a small chuckle in his voice. I sigh with a small shake of my head. "All these mean are bloody wankers." I say harshly. "I mean look." I say as I turn my body to him and he gives me his whole attention. "Look at him." I say and motion to a guy across from us who is giving me glances. "Ever since I walked past him he's been eyeing me." I tell him and he glances over to the guy with a glare. I grab his face gently and turn it back to me and his glare disappears. "Fist of all we're at a park and so most of the people here have kid's and I know for a fact that he has a wife from the glistening of a wedding band on his left ring finger. I also know for a fact that he has a kid because if he's not glancing at me he's glancing at the playground. His eyes move as if it's following something. A child. His child."  I finish off and with a chuckle, he glances back over to confirm what I said. "Yet he still stares at women that aren't his wife. Makes you wonder what else he does." I lean back and put my sunglasses on. "Damn. Your observant." He tells me putting his attention back on me. "People speak lies." I say and pause. I turn my head to him. "So I watch what they do." He nods. "Your right." After a while, he speaks up."People like to lie. But you don't have to worry about me." He tells me with honesty in his eyes. "No offense. But I'll be the judge of that." I tell him. He nods. " That's fair." He looks at the watch on his wrist and sighs. "They're late." I furrow my brows. "Who?" I ask. I notice his eyes are on the playground. I look to where he's looking to see a boy. "Your sisters." He tells me and I frown. I can't even get myself to care about them. I look back at the playground as he looks at me. "He yours?" I ask him. "What?" He asks and I nod at the kid. "He's yours." I don't question this time I state. "Damn. You really are observant." He tells me and I nod. "You could have just told me." I tell him but he stays quiet. "He's cute." I tell him with a soft smile as I watch the boy play. I can feel someone's stare on me and I know it's not the dad across the park. It's Rio. "You're not mad?" He asks me. I shake my head. I slowly put my hand on my stomach over my scar. I caress it. With a sigh, I pull away. I freeze when I hear a familiar voice. "Rebekah?"
