Sin stood for only the minute it look to assess the gleaming beauty before he plunged right in. Taking short quick strokes, he went over to the other end. Once there, he gasped as he took in the magnificence that was the Pearl stream of Red Moon Pack. This view never gets boring, he thought. The best view was from the this side. This was why he always came here. But that wasn't all, Sin much preferred the view from the top of the two rocks making the waterfall. He walked over to the two great rocks. He placed his right palm on one of the rocks and closed his eyes in reverence. An ancient belief had it that the founding Alpha of the pack, had discovered the stream and the Pack itself, because of the sound of the rushing waters. Sin made quick work of climbing up. He knew every step well by heart. He knew which step was solid or slippery. He smiled as he remembered how, since from the time they were young and even until now, Glenda always slipped and fell. Whenever Sin mocked her, she always gave the excuse that it must be because Sin was to be an Alpha, that was why he could climb so well. After all, hadn't the rocks been believed to favour an Alpha? Once at the top, Sin stood magnificently tall. He always jumped into the stream from this spot. But first, he had to look. He hadn't looked for too long before he felt, rather than saw that he had company. He immediately lay down flat on the rock grimacing at the discomfort and at the realisation that he'd never done that before. How possible was that? All these years of climbing, he never lay down on the rock for once? Well, he wouldn't fault himself on that account, because well, who slept on rocks? Channelling his mind from his present thoughts, he focused instead on whoever was coming to disturb his peace. Other pack members who believed seldom visits helped retain the the glistening purity, hardly came by. More so, it was quite late. So whoever was coming could hardly be a pack member. One could never be too careful, Sin thought as he put more strident effort at concealing himself, grateful for once, to the overgrown bushes surrounding and above the rocks.
When the intruder finally came into view, he hissed. It wasn't a member of the Pack alright. It was the white haired girl. One of the Pack's newcomers. He was ready to stand up and show himself, when he saw the lost expression on her face and the faltering steps. He knew immediately that she was troubled. What could be the problem? He thought and immediately shook his head at his foolishness. What could be wrong? What could be wrong! The girl lost her home, her pack and her parents, and he wonders what could be wrong! She just arrived at a new place and is forced to meet new people and he wonders what is wrong. Well, a lot is wrong! She came to the right place, then. Sin decided not to show himself. The cool rapture of Pearl stream will calm her troubled heart. Troubled heart? Now since when has he been poetic? He shook his head. He watched the girl make her way to his rock. Well, not his rock but he liked to term a lot of things here as his. Something poked his knee painfully. He looked down to remove the offensive pebble. When he looked back down at the girl, he was hit with something so intense that made him want to go down to her. Breathtaking! Ethereal! Supernatural! Now he was being poetic! But the view before him was one that would make any poet or painter jealous and itch for his brush. Right there, seated on the rock, was an enchantress! With one of her foot stretched into the water, she looked like a siren. When she arched her back and sighed, Sin almost swooned with a need to go down and haul her into his arms. What was wrong with him! Well, he knew all right! Because now, a very hard member of his body was poking the rock. The poor rock! Calm down buddy, Sin prodded. This was a girl that just came into the pack today! He hadn't even met her. At least not face to face as in a conversation. It seemed someone was going to beat him to that, he thought as he saw Oberon approach her from the clear path. Sin looked at her, she wasn't even aware someone had come into her bubble. Why not? Sure, having Alpha blood gives extra were- abilities in his senses. But as a Shifter, wouldn't she at least be aware of someone now standing next to her! He looked at Oberon, standing well behind her now. He'd better not jolt her too much, or she'd fall and hit her head slightly on the rock. Sin thought with caution. When she gave just a little shock to Oberon's utterance, Sin sighed with relief. Now he was showing extreme concern? Great! The girl just came into the Pack, and he was entertaining thoughts of her already? Already? Sin chides himself. Yes. He had thoughts of her, he told himself. But they are directed at finding out just what she's hiding. What he believes her to be hiding.
Bringing back his concentration, he saw that the girl now looked to be in a conversation with Oberon. Interesting. Sin summoned his auditory senses to tune in to their conversation. He told himself he wasn't intruding. He was investigating. Only investigating.
