Chapter 9

830 Words
EIGHT Garuli, the Alpha of Red Moon pack just about prowled the floor of his main room. Though Sin's height, beat his father's with a few extra inches, it was clear who he and sister, took their traits from. Though, a little dulled from age, the Alpha's golden hair still caught the ray of the sun and the greens of his eyes still twinkled. The very contours of his face spoke volumes of Sin's hereditary. A little ages off, and they could have been twins. This resemblance showed a great lot in their their smiles and frowns. But on the matter of showcasing their anger on their faces, they both went their separate ways. While Sin flared his nostrils, his father gritted his teeth. The more angry he became, the more you could see the clear indentured imprints on his jaw. Right now, they rendered the skin covering them, useless. Garuli paused his pacing for a second as he looks to the far end of the room, where Sin and Oberon stood. "Oberon, where do you think she is now?" The Alpha asked. "Not anywhere in the park." "We know that already." The Alpha snapped. "The mind link is not working and the men have searched all over the park and the near fields. Where is she? Find out!" The Alpha roared. "Calm down Father, You know Oberon is still trying to get a hold of his powers." Sin said and the Alpha looked up at him angrily. "Your sister was supposed to be in your care. Where were you? With some girl I presume?" Sin remained quiet. "Wait, I'm getting something." They all turned back to see as Oberon's eyes turn a misty shade of white. This usually happened when he could see a bit into the immediate present, some place else. "She's safe and actually on her way back." A pause. " But....." "But what?" The Alpha asked impatiently. "She's got company." "What! who..who are they?" "I can't say, I'm loosing the connection." Oberon says just as his eyes take on their normal shade. "Ugh!" The Alpha exclaims, raising his hands impatiently. He knew Sin was right. Oberon has not yet gained the full mastery of his powers as the Seeker of the Pack. For a minute, the Alpha thought of Azila, Oberon's mother. She was one capable Seeker. The good ones go too soon. Don't they? He thought, even as he remembered his mate, his Luna. Good and kind to everyone, she had been a wonderful Luna. As he looked up, he looks at Sin as he says; "Sinclair! Gather the men and get ready to go to the borders. We want to be prepared in case, this company Glenda comes with is not the friendly type." "Yes father." Sin says as he begins to assemble the men together. Thankfully, they all already geared up. Sin rounded up the men and gave them instructions, telling some of them to lay low around the border in ambush while the rest of them, would cross over the border to wait, just in case a negotiation was necessary. As the head of the fighters, Sin gave precise and well practised directions. This would have been the position for the beta. But following a putrid betrayal from a Beta, that had cost a lot to the Pack and even more to the Alpha, the position of the Beta had been vanquished, not for all time, but sorely awaiting a befitting and good one. Most of the Pack members, thought Sin was way too playful to occupy the position. Sin was aware of this, and he knew the Alpha also, was most probably aware. Sin suspected the reason he was appointed was all the part for him to be well and ready for his future Alpha responsibilities. So far, he hadn't showed much responsibility in his actions. In fact, this was the only thing he was very serious with, for which his father, the Alpha, was proud. After, the men were fully versed and prepared for a defence, or should in case, they throw the first claw, an attack, they all went out to the border, with Sin, his father and Oberon in the lead. Right before, they got to the logs fencing off the borders, the Conch of the watch keeper, signalling intruders, came out loud and clear. Sin immediately gave the signal and all the men took up their positions, while he and the Alpha, together with Oberon and few of the men, went over the border and waited. When they all formed a half moon around the Alpha and his son, Oberon stood aside, and looked. As the seeker, he wasn't accustomed to fighting. His wolf merely led the way, showing others the path to follow during fights. They waited, but not for long, because soon after, they heard a loud howl. It was Glenda's. Wasting no time, Sin gave the signal and they all poised ready to attack.
