Inara
This is all confusing. It’s like we each had a part that the others needed but something was missing, that’s when I remembered what I saw when Trent and my witch was getting it on and shot up from my chair and started pacing the area in front of everyone while they watched me like I was crazy. I tried to put everything together in my head into words for them and once it did I told them everything.
Sarah looked shocked but then something flickered in her eyes and they went white. Grace had her phone out and was calling her parents while Luke watched her with hawk-like eyes and I just sat there. Grace hangs up her phone and starts to grumble about how her parents never answer her when she needs them and flopped back on the couch covering her face with her hands.
We all jump when Sarah does a high pitch inhale while standing up just to look frozen in place for a few seconds before falling to the floor mumbling something none of us could understand though Luke had a hard face on staring at Sarah. Grace thought it could have been an old witch dialect but that she didn’t know how to speak or understand it. We all jumped again when Trent came running in scanning the area like a mad man causing me to run to him.
“What’s wrong?” I ask while pulling him into a tight hug.
“We are under attack.” He growls out but I feel his body relax once he has me in his arms.
“Rogues.” Luke growls while using his body to shield Grace and Sarah.
"Wait, what?" Grace and I ask together, shocked.
"Rogues." Trent growls out again seeming more frustrated than before as his hold gets to a point I’m starting to have trouble breathing. "I want you to go back to the house with Grace and Sarah and stay with the other woman and children until I come and get you." He says while starting to drag me out of the garden.
"What? No. I can help you." I yelled at him trying to get him to stop pulling me.
“So can I.” Grace says stand in front of Luke causing him to growl at her only to get a death glare from her.
"And how the hell can you two help? You can't shift Inara and you are not connected to you witch enough to defend yourself. Now go back and do as I say." Trent growls.
“She might not be able to but I can. I grew up as a witch and can help you defend your pack.” Grace says while taking a firm stance on wanting to help.
“I said no!” Trent roars is pure rage. His eyes turn black before tuning to grey again. “Grace I need you to keep Inara safe. She is the future of this pack if anything happens to me. Do you understand me?” He looks over at Grace to make sure she understands his command before he turns back to me.
“But I want to help. If I don’t help fight then what kind of leader would I be?” I whined out.
“One that will lead this pack if I am gone. Your safety means more than mine and it means it even more right now than ever. Please stay safe and take the girls to the house safely. No matter what I will come back. You don’t need to worry about me. Okay?” He is pleading with me and I can see he is scared and that I couldn’t talk him into letting me help so I nod my head. He gives me a quick kiss before backing away from me and turning to Luke.
“Let’s go. They are already too close.” Luke nods and looks over to Grace and tells her to be safe and starts to head out.
Trent starts to follow Luke but stops and turns around to look at me again. His eyes go from mine to my stomach before coming back up to my eyes with a worried expression on his face before he turns away to run to where the fighting is. I turn around to help Grace carry Sarah back to our house.
Trent
I was sitting in my office doing paperwork trying not to think about how Inara left me by myself earlier today when one of my pack warriors link's me.
‘Rogues have passed the border and are inbound for your house. Five of our wolves are dead already.’
‘How many are there?’ I asked him as I stood from my chair.
‘About twenty to twenty-five Alpha.’ s**t, that’s a lot. I was about to answer him back when I felt that Inara was scared through our bond and not just a little either, there was something wrong. I open a link to everyone in my pack.
‘I want all warriors out and ready to fight. Groups one, two, and three keep the ground safe and make sure everyone gets to the safe zones. All kids, women, and elderly get to the closest safe zone, NOW! All others get to the fight, defend the pack lands.’ I growl out using my alpha voice in the link. I get a yes alpha from everyone and run out of the door to find Inara.
I follow her scent to our dome garden and rush inside and scan the area. I see Luke standing ready to fight whoever just came into the dome as a true alpha would be, Grace is kneeling next to Sarah who is on the ground whispering something and Inara looked freaked the f**k out.
She sees me and comes running to me wrapping me in a huge hug but we don’t have time for this. I’m glad she’s okay but she needs to get to a safe place and now.
After a quick argument, Inara and Grace agreed to go to the house and take Sarah with them allowing Luke and I to focus on killing some rouges which my wolf and I are ready to do. But not before she has more protection than just Grace.
‘Teams one, two, and three get to my house and guard the Luna. Teams eight and ten get to the grounds and make sure no rogue gets through.’ I order in my alpha tone receiving a yes alpha back from everyone.
Once Luke and I step outside we look at each other with an evil smirk before taking off. I shift into my wolf while Luke runs beside me in human form with ease.
‘Same rules?’ He mind links me.
‘Same rules but this time I will win.’ I growl in determination.
‘Oh, the dreams you have, the dreams.’ He laughed at me in the link causing my wolf to roll his eyes.
‘One day I will beat your ass and when I do I will rub it in your royal wolf ass.’ I growl at him causing him to look at me while running and smiling. He knows I can never beat him but I know who can.
‘Oh, should I bring Inara into this when she is ready? She will beat your ass like she was lifting a feather.’ Yep, that took the smile off his face.
‘Hey, that’s not fair she’s my sister. I would have to let her win.’ He whines at me.
‘And she’s my mate now, get ready we are almost there.’
We run where my pack is fighting off the rogues and the report was right, they are very close to my house but now that Luke and I are here these vile things will be taken care of soon. As I look around to see the damage done I can see both rogues and my pack dead on the ground. It pains me to see my own members lifeless on the ground, they will forever be reworded by the goddess for serving their pack well and we will make sure to burn their bodies with the honor they deserve.
After about another thirty minutes of fighting, I feel a sharp pain in my leg causing me to howl in pain. I know the pain was not mine because not one wolf was around me at the time. Inara! I look over at Luke who is already looking at me with wide eyes still in human form.
‘No more nice play Luke take care of them. Inara needs us!’ I growl at him and his eyes turn to gold but I pay no mind to it as I turn to run back to my house. I see Luke from the corner of my eye lift his hands up taking all the rogues with it and then slamming it on the ground making the wolves hit the ground hard.
‘Take all the live ones to the dungeon and put the dead ones along the border they came from with their heads ripped off.’ I order my men as I run to my mate that needs me.
