Chapter 19

Inara

  It has been two days since the attack. Trent has picked up training on all pack members. He has opened more spots for women to join thanks to me saying that women have the word man in the name because we are just as good as they are and could be better than them if they are given the chance. He thought I was funny and just making a joke till my wolf came out and challenged ten men to a friendly fight. Let’s just say I took on all 10 and not once did they get a single blow in. I walked back to Trent with a smile on my face and used what he said was my Luna voice on him telling him to allow others to train. He grabbed me and hauled me up to our room and showed me the rest of the day just how my fight skills and Luna voice affected him and man did it affect him.

  Luke has also started to train me again and he is not holding back this time. I can’t count how many times I have landed on my ass or have been thrown into something. Each time I get hit hard or thrown to the ground hard a growl can be heard from the packhouse and each time I laugh but it warms my heart that my pain is also hurting him. 

  I have mastered talking to my wolf and witch at the same time and I can now use their powers together at will. I have had so much fun talking to both of them but I can’t shake the feeling that we are missing something. The past few nights I have been having weird dreams that make me cry but once I wake up I can’t remember them. It’s hard to put it into words and when I asked Luke about it he said sometimes that happens. He told me about all the times he woke up feeling that way and couldn’t understand it till the night he confirmed I was his sister and then it all stopped. He thinks it’s my mind and body knowing I’m missing something.

  One of the pack doctors linked Trent and told him that she wanted to see me and him in the morning last night and that it was about the tests they did on me. Trent didn’t sleep at all, he paced for hours keeping me up until I yelled at him to get in the damn bed and to let me sleep but when I woke up in the morning he was pacing again with worry on his face. 

  In the shower, I asked him why he was so worried and he told me that his wolf was going crazy but not bad crazy just seemed overly happy crazy but won’t tell him why. As we were walking to the pack hospital is an unmated male came near me Trent’s wolf came to the front and would pin them before I could blink and he wouldn’t let them up till they submitted and ran the other way, the word must have gotten out to stay away because all pack member would see us and run. I don’t blame them, Trent’s eyes stayed black most of the time and he looked deadly. 

  Right now we are waiting in the same pack doctor’s office that linked Trent last night waiting for the news of what’s wrong with me. They asked for more blood before leading us into the room and let’s just say that Trent’s wolf was having a hard time letting the nurses do their job and take the blood. I had to use my power and hold him against the wall and that took a lot of effort to do. 

  The doctor has been sitting in front of us for the past five minutes saying he will tell us as soon as the blood report comes back. After ten minutes of sitting and waiting a nurse comes in and hands a folder to the doctor and leaves the room. The doctor looks at the report, sighs, and then puts it down with a smile on his face.

“I am glad I had you come back in and do another blood test. As I expected the results came back as I thought they would.” 

“Just tell us already!” Trent snaps at the doctor causing him and me to jump in shock.

“Sorry Alpha.” The doctor says while showing his neck in submission. “The blood work shows that our Luna is pregnant again. It looks like you are eight weeks pregnant, Luna.” My mouth drops open and my eyes bulge out of my head. Did this doctor say I am pregnant again? I turn to look at Trent who is smiling and looking smug. “You are far enough along to see the baby if you would like. We can do it right now.” He said with a smile that reached his ears.

  Trent jumps up and nods his head at that so fast I thought it would fly off. I just sat there stunned. I mean I know I should be as happy as he is but the fact that I couldn’t remember our past scares me. Not to mention that my adopted parents seem to want me for something. What will happen if they get me and find out that I’m pregnant? What will happen if they take my baby? What will happen to my baby? I look over to Trent who is already looking at me with worry and concern in his eyes. He sees the tears starting to form in my eyes and I watch as he drops to his knees and holds my head in both his hands. From the corner of my eye, I see the doctor say something and then walk out of the room. 

  As soon as the door shuts I let the tears fall down my cheeks. He doesn’t say anything to me at first he pulls me into his chest and holds me as I ball my eyes out on him. After a few minutes, he pulls away from me and starts to try and wipe away the tears.

‘I heard you, my love. I heard you.’  Trent mind linked me. I look at him in confusion wondering what the hell he is talking about. ‘I heard your thoughts and feelings. You just mind linked me, my love.’ Hearing that I couldn’t help but smile a little. I can mind link people. I never thought I could do that. ‘I never want you to worry about the safety of our child. He or she will be kept safe in our lands. Our pack will keep him or her safe and I am not leaving your side until our child is born. Your parents will never get our child nor will they get you. Do you understand that?’ He asked while looking into my eyes pleading for me to understand that our baby will be safe.

“Yes, I understand but I’m still scared and worried. We don’t know why they want me. I have this feeling like I know like they told me but I can’t remember. In my dreams, I dream of them. I can’t hear what they are saying but it feels important but when I wake up I don’t remember it all or it just feels like it was just like every other dream I have ever had. Trent, they need something from me. What if it’s a child?” I looked at him pleading for him to help me understand everything. 

“They can try to get our child but they will die.” He growls so loud and deep that it shakes the wall. His eyes are going bright silver and are flashing red. I feel my eyes widen and my breathing stops and then his eyes stay red and a smirk comes onto his lips. “Hello, my Queen. I have been looking forward to meeting you. I wasn’t going to show myself but now that you are pregnant and scared this much we will meet soon. I love you, my Queen.” His thumbs stroked my cheeks and his lips came crashing down on mine for a hard but gentle kiss. When he pulls away he leans his forehead on mine and whispers. “Till we meet again my Queen. Just remember I’m always here to keep you and our baby safe.” Then he pulls away and Trent’s eyes go back to silver as if nothing happened at all.

  I couldn’t seem to get my words to come out and ask Trent what the hell just happened so I kept my mouth shut and followed him out of the office to see our baby for the first time.
