Chapter 18

Inara

“We wouldn’t have even known they were here till it was too late if my mate didn’t take off.” Trent whispered but we all heard him.

“It was weird. I was sending shocks at you when my headache started to grow like crazy and then my body felt really cold. The next thing I know I see myself running through the forest worried and then everything flashed and I saw myself relaxing with two women while getting our hair and makeup done. Then it flashed again and I saw two men and two women fighting and winning but then I watched them die and something in me snapped and I just took off. I knew they needed me and that they meant no harm to us. That they were fighting for us. It was a weird feeling but not as weird as bursting out in flames. That was right out of a superhero comic s**t right there.” I said laughing as I got to the end. Trent looked down at me and kissed the top of my head.

“It was f*****g hot, that’s what it was my love.” He whispers in a husky voice in my ear causing me to bite my lip as I feel the heat starting to build in my body.

“Wow Sis, you had a vision. That’s impressive. You might have our mom’s gift. You never stop surprising me.” Luke laughs while shaking his head. “And now I have two new protectors to keep me company in this boring place.” I couldn’t help but laugh at him. I hope Grace gets back soon. I know there is more to what’s going on there than they let on and I know they like each other because I walked in on them going at it.

“How is your head feeling now my love?” Trent asks me with concerned eyes.

“Much better. I am tired though.” I answer while smiling at him.

“That’s because we couldn’t give you back all the energy you needed. To do so would have killed us and we are not looking to die just yet, maybe in another thirty or fifty years. Sleep will do just fine now.” Shannon tells us while looking at me with a huge smile that I couldn’t help but return to her.

“So what now?” Zack asks. “You are the Alpha here and we respect that but I’m a little unsure what happens next. I know that wolves don’t take too well with others being on their lands, even more so when it is a vampire. Will you have us placed in a cell or kicked out?” He sounds a little scared and that’s when I look into his eyes, red. The same red that Trent’s flashed to when we were having s*x. I think I need to tell him about it here soon.

“You can stay on my land as long as you respect our rules and laws. I don’t want the peace to be broken. I have linked ahead to have rooms ready for you close to Luke’s room. Just know I don’t give a damn if you are here to help him or not, disrespect me or anyone on my lands and I will not hesitate to kill you. Is that clear?” Trent informs them in his alpha voice which does nothing but make me want to grab him and have s*x right here and now. Ugh, what is wrong with me right now?

“Understood.” Kevin replies with a nod.

“What about us though? We are witches. I mean yes we will also respect you and all who are on your lands but will we have a room near her highness?” Amanda asks, causing a small grunt to come from Trent.

“No, you will not be on my floor. You will be staying next to her sisters. My mate has me to keep her safe but I know she is worried that her sisters might get hurt. You should make sure that they are safe when I can not.” Hearing Trent saying that melts my heart. I don’t remember everything about our past but I know that I love him and right now hearing him talk about my family like that means the world to me. I would raise hell if something happened to my sisters.

“Understood, and in that case may we do a bonding ceremony?” Amanda asks.

“A what?” I ask turning a little to look at her.

“A bonding ceremony. It will help us feel your sisters in case they are in need. We will be able to track them and also help heal them if need be. It will work both ways, not the healing part but the tracking and feeling part.” Shannon speaks up in her chipper voice and a smile that is contagious.

  I look up at Trent who seems to be in deep thought so I turn to look at Luke who has the same face on. They must be mind linking each other, something I hope I will be able to do someday. 

“If my mate and her sisters are okay with it and it will not harm them then I will allow it.” Trent says after about a minute of letting the question hang out in the open.

“It’s fine by me. Just need to ask my sisters now.” I say with a smile.

“Once they give their okays then come to me and tell me if there is anything you need me to get for it to happen and I will make sure it gets to you.” Trent informs both the sisters. They give their thanks and drop back a bit more behind us whispering to each other.

I look up at Trent and then over at Luke. Luke looks like he is in deep thought and I bet I know why. ‘Are you okay?’ I mind-linked him. Causing him to look my way with a small smile.

‘Yea, I am. I just never thought that I would have a protector again after I lost the last one. I thought that the goddess was mad at me because I didn’t keep him safe.’

‘I thought that they were here to keep us safe, not the other way around. And even if we can keep them safe would they allow us to die in their place when they said themselves that they will give their own life for ours? I know the past hurt you but now you have two men to keep you safe and they will allow you to do what you need to do. We don’t know what’s out there. Whatever it is our parents died to save us from it. We might be needed elsewhere while they stay behind and fight here. We are all here to live our lives and then die. Some die young and some die old, it’s not up to us how and when they die but up to the goddess.’ I smile at him knowing how he feels through our bond. I can’t help him forget the past but maybe I can help him move on a little bit.

‘Thanks, somehow you knew what to say. I can’t believe it took me this long to find you. You have grown up so much since I first saw you. I love you, little sister.’ I can’t help the tear that slips from one of my eyes as my smile gets bigger. Luke also has a tear of his own but I can feel how much he loves me and it makes my heart feel full. I have the love of my sisters, Luke, Trent, my friends, and the pack. I’m not sure how I got so lucky but I will protect them and keep them safe even if I have to die trying.
