Chapter 4
Maddie's Pov
"For the last time, Jane - nothing happened."
Its been a day since the dinner, Jane was hell bent on making me confess what it was that I did with Alexander when she stormed off.
"Don't play dumb with me, I always knew you had something against me, are you perhaps planning on taking revenge for trying to put you off with that old man? Like mother said - it's for your own good."
"Why, yes. Yes I am. I'm going to steal Alexander away from right between your clutches." I answered with a blunt expression. This caused Jane to laugh uncontrollably.
"You should consider doing stand up comedy, maybe that's where your talent truly lies."
Does she really underestimate me so much, or is she simply in denial? Well, I expected that reaction - Jane always saw me as a pushover, I hardly ever talk back so why would I be bold enough to pull off something like that?
It was the perfect condition for me and I will make sure she regrets ever looking down on me the way she did.
The next phase of my plan has already been decided and it's going to walk through our front door any moment now…
"Jane!"
As if on cue, Mira called for Jane." She gave me a death glare, I simply smiled at her before she stormed off to her wicked mother.
I trailed behind her as we arrived at the living room.
"There you are, look who came to say hi."
Jane gasped - The look on her face was priceless. She was too focused on the guest that she didn't notice me struggling to hold my laugher in.
"What's he doing here?" Jane glares at the guest.
The man with grey hair stood up and walked towards us. "Good question, but I'll do you one better - Why was I not invited to my own daughter's wedding?"
The man was non other than Mira's ex-husband and Jane's biological father - Grant.
"I am not your daughter!" She snapped. I've never seen her so unhinged. This is perfect!
"Jane," Mira intervened, with her arms folded. "That's no way to speak to your father, we might have divorced but he's still your real dad so you better apologise right away young lady."
"S-sorry."
Did my ears just deceive me, Jane the single most stock up person on the face of the planet just said the "S" word.
I guess it's true when they say "Fight fire with fire." There was no one better to reprimand Jane than Mira. I mentally thanked her for giving me a good scene to enjoy. Once I'm done with Jane, the wicked witch of the west is next.
"And you must be Maddie right?" Grant offered a handshake.
"Thankyou for inviting me here."
"It's my pleasure, I just feel it's right a for a father to attend his daughter's wedding. I would want that for mine if he was alive."
"You!" Jane grabbed my collar as she pinned me to the wall. Ofcourse it was only because I didn't resist, I could whoop her sorry ass in the blink of an eye if I wanted to.
"Jane, you stop this irrational behaviour of yours, it's not lady like at all."
Mira came to the rescue. I won't lie, I'm enjoying pitting Jane against her parents. Although I'm sure it was because Grant was present.
"What is your problem with me!?" She demanded an answer but was only met with a smug look.
"Everything."
"I'm gonna clear that smug off your face, once I'm done wit-"
Grant intervened this time around, he grabbed her hand and forced me free.
"Mira, is this the way our daughter turned out to be? She's become a spoilt brat, I always warned you not to pamper her too much."
Now it was Mira who was getting scolded. I hit the jackpot.
Mira turned to Jane. "You were in charge of the guest list for the wedding. So tell me why was your father not invited even when I specifically ask you to include his name?"
"That's because I wanted nothing to do with him!" Jane stormed off with her tail between her legs.
I will be lying if I said I wasn't satisfied with the way things turned out.
This is just the beginning, you little witch. I retreated to my room to commence the next part of my plan...
They say a true hunter knows his prey more than themselves, i couldn't agree more.
This hunter used the last couple of weeks learning every there is to know about a certain billionaire.
My prey was Jane's fiance. I was dressed in a red dress that was just long enough to expose my thigh without making me look like a slut. I paused at the entrance to t
he library - a place Alexander visits every week.
Today - I will tame him.
